Muthu Oura Praia Hotel

Outstanding in all ways but one. Had booked room not knowing it would have balcony and were astonished to find we were given studio on top floor corner with L shaped balcony and two doors. Arrived after midnight but set alarm before dawn to see what we could see. The most beautiful sunrise over the sea we've ever seen! Thank you so so much!

Only problem was Wi-Fi. Sadly its signal ran out exactly at our front door! As soon as we walked out into lobby (again stunning interiors) the signal came up on phones but step inside - zero. Two phones and a laptop all exactly same. I got my phone roaming on and managed to use that as a hotspot on second day so solved for us. This was after I went out to a bar where I new could get Wi-Fi to get this going. However despite explaining in detail to the otherwise excellent staff who said they would investigate, we heard nothing over investigation. Didn't follow up ourselves as hotspot ran OK but noticed no change to hotel Wi-Fi throughout stay.

Loved most of our stay here, a few small things need modern updating in the rooms, we paid for 4 adults there should be 4 beds not 2 beds and a sofa bed , having to pay for bottles of water in an all inclusive basis is also wrong... staff a1 food good not great but you can eat in other hotels that's class ..

The location is great, 10 min from Santa Eulalia beach by foot. The pool and facilities are comfortable as well the staff is very friendly.

No basic stuff to wash the dishes. The apartment only had dish soap and towels, a sponge would be appreciated. During the night, we can hear some doors banging, which can be annoying. The checkout hours are too early (10AM).

Everything was so relaxing,staff from housekeeping right whole way up to reception, are sooo lovely friendly and helpful.thank you everyone. excuse spelling of names,all on reception, Parva so helpful and one of the most beautiful ladies we saw,,Deborah always has lovely smile for everyone,emanuela so helpful with everything you need to know, we had a really lovely time for 28days,our apt was just to our liking just like home only someone else did your cleaning and beds and changed towels everyday,so no washing either.heaven!!! Right next street to strip but no noise,like on the strip,and the inside foyer and reception is so beautiful with a beautiful water feature fountain,unbelievably quiet at night everytime we have been there,but thats in winter,cant comment on high season, will return soon and often (hopefully).and best part theres bakery, resturants,chinese,japanese,portuguese,english,american diners right beside hotel,and for those who love it a Chippy,for fish n chips,and last but not least The Hangover bar that can be accessed by going downstars from reception beside swimming pool so if its wet you dont need go outside,for food or drink🤣ooops forgot right next door is a very large supermarket if your self catering great.

Have stayed here many times now over the years and it never fails to disappoint. For a chill out week in the sun I would recommend here to anyone. The hotel is a little bit dated in areas but we was told today that they are planning to update the hotel, which is fabulous. Can't wait to come back and see the outcome. The supermarket below is fantastic if you go self catering, they have everything you can think off. The hotel is always very clean and the staff are super friendly. Really looking forward to coming back again. Thanks again for yet another great holiday.

There is nothing not to like about the hotel, location or staff. Always made to feel very welcome and always have enjoyed staying here over the years.

The hotel exceeded our expectations, we came as a group and it everything we needed. We arrived late in the evening and check in was very prompt. you do have to pay 100 euro deposit on arrival for any damages, which is returned on check out. The hotel is very close to lots of amazing restaurants, its a 10 minute walk to the beach, and a 10 minute walk to the strip for all the bars and nightclubs. there are also plenty of Taxi's around if you didn't want to walk. We ate out every night around the hotel and it was all amazing, most bars have happy hour 1pm-8 pm (which is a big bonus) even though all the beer and food is really cheap anyway. There is a large supermarket underneath the hotel so you can get everything / anything you needed there. We also had a taxi into Albufeira old town, which is very pretty and a must see. This taxi only cost around 8 euros one way so definitely worth it, there are lots of bars and restaurants here selling traditional Portuguese food & drink.

Ideal location, check in is 5pm but we arrived at 1pm and the lovely lady at reception checked if our room was ready and it was so didn’t have to wait around! Room was ideal plenty of room, nice balcony had everything you needed! Cleaners were fab cleaned every 2 days and came in another day in between too! Pool opens 9-9 and people don’t reserve beds so there’s always plenty of beds around up until 11/12. Supermarket right next door for fresh bread, croissants etc couldn’t be closer. Walking distance to lots of pubs/restaurants. 7/8 mins in taxi to Old town.

Pool bar not open, however Hangover bar attached to the hotel and you can bring drinks from here out to the pool. Gym closed at start of stay but opened near the end of the stay!

Staff were very welcoming upon arrival, and we got a free upgrade to a one-bedroom apartment on the fourth floor, I'm guessing as May is still considered off-peak. The room was a decent size with a large bathroom, usable kitchenette, two strong single beds side by side, and a balcony overlooking the New Town and sea views in the distance. The room was spotlessly clean, with towels changed every 2 days. The hotel has an easily accessible lift to all floors, and a fantastic swimming pool that is almost 4m deep at one end (great for jumping in). Both the gym and sauna were open but limited to the amount of people inside which is fair enough. We didn't use the gym, but the sauna came in handy, and both were easily accessible with the room card. There is a bar attached to the hotel, pool tables, arcade machines, and loads of comfortable seating areas to put your feet up. We took the decision to book on a room-only basis, which was the best decision we made. You can stock up on breakfast items from the Intermarche underneath the hotel, or the giant Aldi which is only 10 minutes' walk away. The hotel requires a 100Euro deposit. We paid cash as it's easier to get the cash back on departure rather than wait for a credit card refund. Checkout at 10am is perfectly acceptable and the hotel can store luggage for free to give you more time. Some other reviews mention noise and there are some rowdy bars around the hotel but it's a holiday destination so it's to be expected. If you don't want to hear people having fun, then take earplugs - it's as simple as that. Location is great; a 5min walk to The Strip, 30min to the Old Town, and 10min to the nearest beach. As of May 2022, UK tourists do not need to show a passenger locator form nor a covid pass but have them anyway just in case. Masks are now only required on planes/buses/taxis. Albufeira is an awesome, welcoming destination for all types of holidays inc.
