Auramar Beach Resort

British - Under 40 - Family of 3, with a 6 month old - All Incusive - 7 night stay The staff were amazing and the views were spectacular from every inch of the property. A walk along the beach into the old town is highly recommended and the beach is a stone's throw away. The seafront is quite cliffy in spots which is the only reason this isn't considered an on the beach property. The walk to the beach from the breakfast hall takes 2mins and 15 sevonds, I timed it. We went off season so kids faculties were closed but 4 pools, 3 of which are outdoor, 1 of which is the children's and one heated indoor pool, a spa and table games room, on site shop, tennis courts, ping pong table pool table, entertainment staff and free shuttle buses into old town, there was still loads to do to fill up our week. Food was highly seasoned, looked ok, but tasted great! Such a variety. And I can safely say they don't scrimp on the ingredients either. I've never been to an all inclusive resort at this price which served duck and lamb, well cooked at that. Not just full of Brits abroad either. A Lot of Spanish families on holiday and an eclectic mix of couples from around the world. The reps keep a smile on your face even when the weather's not too great. The pressure and temperature of the showers was 10/10. The property is not very modern but has been modernized where it matters. Connect to the WiFi once and you have it on the entire property, which is massive. Honestly, the pictures don't do it justice. I thought the driver had the wrong hotel when I pulled up for how much I paid!!! All in all would highly recommend this resort as a value for money get away. The only one thing I can complain about was that the accessibility for prams or wheelchair users was not great. There are so many stairs on the property. BUT it's easily remedied if you ask to be put in Block C.

Amazing staff, always ready to answer questions and cater to our every request, both online and in person. Provided vegan food especially for my partner. And the second day, the waiter actually came to us asking if we wanted vegan, we didn't have to ask. Food and drinks are good quality, plentiful and with a wide variety. Room equipped with everything we needed, including a kettle and hairdryer upon request. Great facilities for a 3-star, beautifully kept gardens, just on the beach with a lovely view from our room. Comfortable bed. Bathroom with a bath, not just a shower. Free bus to and from town. Fantastic value for money.

Entertainment was rather sad and lasted 30 minutes, if that. Room decor is a little dated, but perfectly comfortable. Layout a bit confusing because the resort is large and on different levels. A lot of steps. No problem for us, but this may not be the best place for persons with mobility issues.

Location is great, the restaurant staff was so friendly and attentive. Having the option of multiple pools was also great.

There were not enough sun beds for all the guest. It was a race every morning to try and get a bed because people would put their towels on them and then not even be around the whole day. The balcony was very small and not able to sit in it due to the terrible noise from the air conditioning. The pools were not very clean. The food was sometimes cold and too salty. There were no hairdryer, iron, or kettle. Too many stairs and the lifts weren’t always working.

Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our stay at the hotel! The food and location were really good! The pool area was nice and the access to the beaches was a big plus.

The wifi is terrible though out the whole resort, this is the only big problem we had. Also, for the price we paid, the all inclusive alcohol was terrible. While certain parts of the property are dated, as most of the reviews stated already, it did not take away from our experience.

The location is perfect, the pictures doesn't give justice. The staffs are awesome, especially Ion and Helena from the front desk, Svetlana at the lobby bar and Leodino (not sure if I have his name right, dark young always happy man) from restaurant welcome desk. Cleaning crew are always busy, making the place smelling nice and clean all the time. We booked with all-in package, the lunch and dinners main dishes were not repetitive, or "recycled", made fresh and delicious. I like it that they incorporate typical Potuguese dishes as well but not very limited to it. Must try! the chocolate cake, chocolate and strawberry ice cream, grilled beef and pork, the grilled mackerel and ofcourse the sardines! Go easy on their superb Sangria, you'll get addicted to it in no time ;-)

The chorine in kids pool is too heavy for my eyes, but it could only be mine.

It was a lot of Portuguese people in that hitel that made a nicer impression. We liked everything: the pool the sea view, the room, which has especially comfortable beds and a short stroll to the beach. However, there is no beds by the sea that can be used from the hotel, you need to pay extra. We walked down the beach to the Old Town to do shopping. That was very enjoyable experience. We also booked a boat trip and quadra bike experience which made our holiday nore exiting ( in the hotel they have an agent). Adventure mini golf and sea centre is another place to visit (15 min away), please book in advanceWe loved the pancakes and fruits. The rest was like English breakfast which is a standard. Staff was helpful especially Elena at the breakfast time. Would be back most definitely.

An evening entertainment was very basic but it was OK if you don't want to go out.

We were in a refurbished room so it was lovely. Outdoor Pool was lovely but too cold for me, but it was March...imagine peak summer its fine. Staff were lovely, epecially the animation team. Lots of activities to break your day up. View from the hotel as it sits on a headland is lovely. 180 degrees sea views. Watching the sunset from the beach below the hotel and walking along to the old town. No complaints about the food, standard all inclusive fare, something for everyone. Particularly liked the salad and the pancakes and fruit in the mornings.

Only thing that let the room down was the location (Block B) - it was positioned over the service road for the hotel so was noisy with deliiveries if you wanted to sit on the balcony and the outdoor unit for the air con is on the balcony so it blows loud hot air at you if you are sitting there and someone has it on inside the room. There are a lot of steps to get around the complex and steep hills to get down to the beach, I managed it at 7 months pregnant but if you have mobility issues this could cause a problem. The event enterainment schedule starting at 9:30pm is probably a little late for kiddies.

Great resort with amazing views of the beach front. Very spacious rooms, and walking distance to the new town, where you can find lots to do, shops, bars, restaurants, etc.

It could do with a bit of renovation. It doesn't seem to have a heating system, outside the rooms were freezing. It could have a better communication on the deposit as they ask to pay it only by cash and the staff member was very cheeky when I said I didn't have any cash on me, only card. But who carries cash nowadays? As well the cafe inside only accept cash. If you are a only cash hotel, you have either to prior communicate this to the guests so we can get money out before, or have an ATM available.
