Velamar Boutique Hotel

Staff are excellent. Evening bar and lunches very good. Overall hotel good value for money.

Only downside was the size of the pool and seating area which was very small and badly designed. Hotel has a huge car park which does not make sense when this could have been used as a larger garden and pool area. Does detract from the hotel and experience. Pool also looked like it needed a good clean on one of the days although did get sorted. Hotel needs to invest in pool area to maintain reputation.

Everything was perfect, the bedroom was very spacious as my partner is wheelchair bound. It was a huge room and the bathroom was huge, the only thing that I would criticise is that a seat was provided for a wheelchair user but my partner could not use it, she was afraid that she would slip from getting from her wheelchair onto the seat. Perhaps the seat should be attached to the wall. The breakfast was lovely, the bar was lovely and the pool area was lovely too.

I don’t even know where to begin 😍 - the most comfortable bed - the most gorgeous room - the amazing breakfast (freshest ingredients, the orange juice, the bread, the orange jam, pastel de nata (need I say more), fresh fruit, plus amazing breakfast staff and being available until 10.30am. - the wonderfully attentive cleaning staff - the entire hotel is stunning and just the perfect place to spend the day by the pool, The main reason I booked the hotel was due to the outstanding reviews, I confirm they are correct. I think it offers a far superior standard to other hotels in the area. Olhos De Agua is a large enough village to keep you busy, with plenty to do, but Albufeira is only about 10 minutes away in a taxi, which was about 8 euros. I used Uber for most journeys. There are plenty of places to eat in the village, with a number of places right beside the hotel, hugely recommend Tatsumi Thai Phuket Restaurant, 2 doors down, just the best food and the loveliest staff, I went three times, they do both Sushi and Thai - 2 restaurants in one! There are a couple of local beaches, and at the far side of the village there are more touristy restaurants and hotels, I much preferred being at this side of the village. It is genuinely such a peaceful, pleasant place to spend some time. I feel very lucky to have found it, it was my first time in Portugal, being a central spot between Albufeira and Villamoura I think it is perfect. I came from a rest after having a stressful time at home, it was the complete break I needed. I met so many lovely people, indulged in the best food and drink, had some great trips out and genuinely went home fully rested.

Literally nothing, the staff go above and beyond every day, I have never stayed anywhere I was more at peace than here! I will be back very soon.

The room was a great size, the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was excellent, the breakfast was good and the pool was a decent size, not too big or overcrowded. Close to shops, restaurants and a short walk to the beach.

We wanted a double bed but we got two single beds pushed together. Literally the only negative point to the hotel, not a major issue though.

Bed was so comfy 👍... Room perfect and spotless . The voucher for the bar is a great idea .. only used one but would normally opt for no cleaning room until leaving so it suited well. Balcony took in a lovely bit of sunshine throughout day 💛 Nice quiet location close to strip and old town and other locations. Would highly recommend hotel and area 👌

Key for room didn't work twice on our stay of 4 nights. But staff rectified this asap .. maybe offer a sunlounger along with the table and chairs for balcony ? Bar was a bit understocked for a weekend?? But barman did his best to accomodate

All the Staff are so helpful and work so hard to please and assist people nothing is to much trouble, and that let's people know to say yes we like the Velamar boutique hotel let's come back because it's so good 👍

Sunbeds are very close together, and cocktail prices a little high, cheaper elsewhere so I know it's a hotel but in general I personally would lower the price slightly as you could benefit by having more people at the bar, do away with the Happy Hour and I reckon you could be on to a winner 🏆 🍹🍾🥂🍻

the hotel itself was super clean and staff were so catering from cleaners to kitchen staff to reception. the hotel is about a 10 min walk to the beach and the location is so ideal. really quiet at night if you like that. it’s a five minute trip to the new town with the strip and a few mins more for the old town. we really loved the location of the hotel because it was away from all the madness but shops were a three/four minute walk. food was lovely each morning. we would definitely stay again. the pool area was quiet too and had plenty of chair available. really relaxing stay and air con was great in rooms we had no problems with it like some hotels.

The hotel is modern and clean throughout. The rooms were spotless, and the bed and pillows were so comfortable that we didn't want to get out of it. There were lots of choice of breakfast items that you can help yourself too and the staff in attendance were polite and helpful. We stayed twice the first time in a twin room and the 2nd time in a suite, both times we had a fabulous view

The first time we stayed, we were in a twin room with a balcony, which was amazing. However, in the bathroom, they had a walk-in shower, toilet, and bidet. The toilet was literally flat up against the shower screen, meaning that we had to sit sideways onto it. I questioned the reception about it and they said that unfortunately due to lack of space in the double/twin room bathrooms they couldn't fit the toilets any other way - I suggest that they remove the unnecessary bidets which would solve this issue. We upgraded our room to the suite (which had a larger bathroom) for our 2nd visit mainly due to the toilet issue (but maybe that's their plan lol). But ultimately we had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend it to others.

For the price I paid all expectations were exceeded! The breakfast was delicious, with choice and always fresh and clean. It was replenished right up until closing time. The restaurant is on the roof, providing fabulous views. The staff in the hotel could never do enough, no matter your request they were so helpful. Location is perfect with walks, food and the supermarket on the doorstep. The pool was so quiet. It was like being in another world. During my stay it seemed to be mostly couples that made up the other residents. The whole hotel was immaculately clean, to a level I have never seen before. I would highly recommend this hotel.

That I had to leave so quickly to return to work.

First of all, the kindness of the staff, truly nice people always available and ready to help. Second, the facilities, truly impressive, three bars available, light meals and drinks by the pool, rooftop breakfast with a view, all beautifully decorated. Third, cleanliness and care, for both guests and the environment. To sum all this up, great value for money!

Nothing! Location was not perfect, but still pretty good anyway. Apart from that, nothing more to mention.
