Grande Real Villa Itália Hotel & Spa

Everything! Lovely helpful staff, amazing rooms, beds and bed linen which were so comfortable. The breakfast was simply amazing with such attentive staff. We used the Spa which was delightful. We will effeminately make this hotel our destination of choice, rather than the Farol or the Albatross - we enjoyed this hotel so much!

The only slight disappointment was we had an evening meal/smack - a simple burger that any good establishment can provide. The bun disintegrated on picking it up and the waiter asked if the food was okay and I mentioned the burger was poor.and I left most of it, a nice gesture would of been to ask if I wanted anything else, but to be fair he was a very polite young man and its such a small thing and did not spoil our stay at all but it did mean that we didnt eat in the evening again at the hotel.

The team absolutely raises the bar on customer satisfaction and the guest relations, Cristovao, absolutely over achieves on this! no words are enough to describe how well we were welcomed. Already wanting to go back!

Surroundings v nice , bedroom ( sea view room) v good size and lovely bathroom. Staff v helpful and pleasant especially Chris. Breakfast very good, nice selection. Near enough to centre of Cascais. Lovely terrace and comfortable lounge areas.

Carpet in bedroom had several bad stains. Definitely need a top sheet as well as duvet. Not sure if rooms are soundproofed? Heard a lot of noise from adjoining bedrooms or bedroom above us( water filling bath, showers) people talking but thankfully not during the night when sleeping. Pity about charge to use Spa facilities... an indoor pool would be good!. Had 3 snacks/dinner in restaurant.... expensive enough considering the size of portions.

Superb breakfast choices. Room was large and well equipped with a huge bed, plenty of clothes storage space. Location was great with a pleasant 10/12 minute walk into the centre of Cascais or 10 minutes in the other direction to Boca do Inferno. Outside pool was well maintained and serviced throughout the day by attentive pool staff.

We had a seaview room without a full balcony. However, there was a small balcony which could accommodate two small chairs or stools but nothing was provided. A minor thing but would enhance the use of the room if provided. Two sinks are provided in the bathroom but due to the type of plug/drain used, you cannot keep water in the sink (for shaving or face-washing for example). Again, a minor thing but not something usually experienced in any class of hotel. It also conflicts with the hotel`s eco suggestions about not leaving taps running (for shaving, toothbrushing etc).

The room and pool are both exceptional. The building is stunning, and the overall decor is very well done. The view over the sea is stunning, and it's just a short walk down to the town/marina for restaurants and shops. The only gripe would be the attitude of the bar staff, it did not match up with the 5-star status of the rest of the hotel.

The bar staff's attitude/ room service team when we asked for a bucket of ice for the room. Not a big demand in an expensive 5-star hotel. We had to call reception twice and, in the end, go down to the bar ourselves, greeted with attitude and sass.

can’t say anything bad about this stay .The hotel was spacious and elegant - our ‘deluxe’ room over looking the sea was amazingly huge with the biggest bed ever. Staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome and at home. The spa was excellent - an added bonus. Too cold for outdoor pools so can’t say how that was. breakfast was a fantastic buffet and we ate dinner a couple of times during our stay. The food was very good. Sea view was absolutely a winner - so worth the bit extra.

Breakfast had a tasty variety of food! It was buffet and it was organized well, and clean and plenty! The room with the balcony and beach view was aaaaaa-maaa-zing!! The room itself was beautiful and the bathroom....was gorgeous! Literally at the time we went, before high season in March, this 5-Star, King's palace is an affordable luxury! I HIGHLY recommend the stay! You can walk along the beach and walk into town. I'd return immediately if time permitted!

There was nothing I didn't like!

We had an amazing time!! We booked the hotel for one night and we wish we had stayed at least another one. I surprised my boyfriend with the Valentine offer at the spa and it was an excellent experience which made our trip incredible. We also got an upgrade to a Suite room which made us even happier about our first stay at Grande Real Villa Italia. We will for sure come back!! Thank you to all the staff for your amazing service (reception, housekeeping, spa, bar, breakfast…)

nothing! everything was just so perfect

The hotel is wonderful. Central location, beautiful and the staff are fantastic. We attended the Ironman event, so we had extra luggage, bikes and none of this was an issue. The reception staff and concierge went out of their way to make things as easy as possible. The hotel breakfast started early on race day and again, nothing was too much trouble. Room was just as described and the welcome treats really were a gorgeous touch. Check out was a little later (midday) which made the stay even better.

We had to leave!

We all loved every bit of this hotel, the location, the rooms, the facilities, the breakfast buffet and the staff. Everything was perfect and was even better than it looked online. The decor in the hotel was fantastic and we all agreed that although it was a top-notch hotel it was also, importantly, very relaxed and the staff went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The outside pool and terrace areas were perfect, the seawater pool was really refreshing and actually not as cold as expected. There was also a the regular visiting peacock who seemed to enjoy displaying his feathers for a photoshoot..

We all agreed again - the only thing we didn't like was having to leave!
