Hotel Domus

Very very clean. Very acceptable breakfast. Very friendly staff They truly tried to be as helpful and as nice as possible. Good value. Near many restaurants. Near the A station. The breakfast for the additional fee was worth the money and certainly adequate.

It did not have an elevator. The staff had challenges with English. Some noise from outside can be heard in the room. For a reason I do not understand, Uber does not pick up or drop off at this location. This was annoying that Uber would not accept their location.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for getting to the Lavandaria and train station. the terrace off our room was an unexpected yet fabulous bonus. Quiet, calm, clean and teeming with many types of beautiful plants. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I can only guess the 1-star is because it is older, small, and not chic but forget the star and stay here. Also, as an XL, Tall person, everything fit well: bed, shower, hotel itself. The desk recommended a place to eat around the corner and it was absolutely fantastic.

Great location and within walking distance to most places of interest. Close to units for conservation with its varied lanes, some shops that are still functional. Walking distance to basic amenities that allow for short enjoyable stay. Great bosses and staff, warm, helpful, approachable and accommodating.

WIFI may be a bit choppy. We were in the midst of University students graduation week during our stay period in 3rd week May and may be noisy in the lanes at night. Bring your shampoo. For those with mobility issues concerns, would have to negotiate steps.

They lock it every night (after 01:00) so you have to ring a bell to open the door for you.It made me uncomfortable because I have to wake the manager to open the door for me.To his honor,he never complained even when I returned at 04:00 but they could just handle me an external door key and the problem would be solved

Nice basic hotel room very close to local train station, which makes it easy to grab a taxi back to Coimbra-B Station for train to Porto or Lisbon. Restaurants and cafes all around and easy walk to all tourist spots. We checked in late on a Sunday and the young man working reception helped carry our bags up to the 3rd floor room. He was awesome!! The room is basic, but there is plenty of hot water for a shower, working A/C, good wifi, and a nice view from our 3rd floor room. In the morning that Hotel let us leave our bags after checkout so we could spend the day exploring Coimbra.

The hotel is only a few meters from the train station. I arrived around 11AM and was able to check-in and get the room right away, which was fantastic. The staff was very nice, showed me everything and also gave me a map of the city. The hotel itself is kind of old-fashioned, but well maintained and very clean. I had a twin bedroom room which was facing the backyard, so no street noise. There was A/C as well as heating. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom included everything needed. Overall it was very good value for money and I can recommend it to everyone that is looking for a budget hotel in the city center.

The blanket smelled a little weird (an old smell). This was a little bit disturbing at first. Other than that, nothing to complain for the money paid.

Hotel very clean an ideal located to visit Coimbra. Friendly people at the reception. There is no parking but for 10€ you can park your car in a parking nearby. It’s mentioned in Booking. No surprise. It’s like on the photos in the Booking.com site

The double beds are little small for 2. Some noise when other people arrive and enter in their room. Hopefully was not very late in the night.

The hotel receptionist answered me excellently and provided a map of the surroundings. The bedroom's bed is really confortable and I had a great night sleep. The area is silent and you can find a square nearby with lots of stores, cafes and services.

Bathroom's curtain bothered me when taking a shower, it got wet and sticky to the body and did not prevent the floor to get wet as well. A glass box would be a lot better.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good and easy check-in. Very nice room; it is not big, but has all you need and it is clean, comfortable and everything works properly. There's an adequate parking arrangement available. Only 60 meters away from the hotel, you can park in a big public car park that Hotel Domus has a contract with. There's always (guarded) parking available, they're open 24/7 and you simply take the ticket to the hotel reception and pay there. Parking will cost you 5 euro's per day. Moreover, we like the authentic character of Hotel Domus. It is not your typical dystopic mega-chain hotel environment with everything, down to the staff, mechanised or digitalized. Hotel Domus is personal and 'real'. A hotel room door is a real door with a real key sticking in it. Light switches are light switches. You look at 'm and you know what they do; they turn on the light without you having to tap in codes on a screen or do other song and dance. The same goes for the wifi. You will find a wifi-code on the desk in your room. You use it to connect your mobile device and you're online. It actually works as it should! It gets you online without you having to give up biometric personal data or your first-born son to some big-tech company. Hotel Domus is one of the last Mohicans in the hospitality branche that still respects the privacy of their clients. Bless 'm!... N.B: For a great breakfast you can go around the corner and sit down in a bakery that has a myriad of lovely, fresh bakery goodies, omelettes, coffee, tea and juices.

Like most down-town hotels in big cities Hotel Domus does not have a private car park. If there's anything that I didn't like about it, it is the 60 meters walk to the hotel with our luggage, but what can you expect from an inner-city hotel at less than 50 euro's per night? We find the parking facility that Hotel Domus provides quite adequate.

Simplicity and the employees, everyone was super nice and very accommodating. The room not being big has everything you need including AC. This made a huge difference. The bed was comfy

After going to the bathroom once we had no more toilet paper nor a spare one. Had to ask for a new roll the next morning - maybe leave a small one in the room for such cases
