Tivoli Coimbra Hotel

Good location. Good size room/ bathroom. Comfortable bed. Provided a dog bed and bowls. Parking is a bonus. There is a coffee shop with outdoor space and the food looked good. You can sit there if you have a dog. A simple breakfast is served in the coffee shop. Didnt get the chance to try breakfast in the hotel as you can't take your dog in public areas. Reasonably priced room service.

The guy on reception told me about offers in the bar and restaurant but I couldn't leave the dog in the room nor take him in the public areas so it was not possible to take advantage of these offers. That was fine but he kept trying to sell it to me despite the fact that hotel policy made it impossible. However, there is an attached coffee shop where you can get food and a simple breakfast. There is outside space so you can sit with your dog. Some aspects of the room look a little tired but that didn't bother me.

Our room didn't have a beautiful view, but I'm sure they'll have rooms with stunning views of the city and the Mondego River. Tivoli Hotel is a bit expensive compared to other hotels in Coimbra, However, I feel that the quality of the hotel and its amenities justifies the higher price. Overall, Tivoli Hotel is a great option for those looking for a modern and comfortable hotel in the heart of Coimbra, with excellent amenities and a high level of service.

Perfectly good business hotel. Location: Central and good as a business base. Old town walkable. Staff: Reception was good, all info provided. Valet parking a huge plus. Cafe staff were very friendly and accommodating. Hotel: Very limited leisure spaces, only the café at the entrance lobby. Numerous meeting and function rooms. Room: Spacious room, but dated and showing it. Bathroom was large and had sufficient amenities. Power shower whether you want it or not. Temperature hard to set, either scalding or cold. Breakfast: Good selection and quality. More than enough for a good start to the day. Overall: Good business hotel with good wifi. I wouldn't chose it for leisure as there's minimal supporting facilities offered and a general impression that it's straining to maintain 4 stars. Issues crop up that just shouldn't in a hotel of this class.

No kettle in the room and reception could not provide one when asked. Toilet brush fell apart and soap dispenser fell off the wall. Only two pillows on the bed and needed to go looking for the other two - found them in the top of the wardrobe. Minibar very empty - two Lion bars, a bottle of water and a bottle of juice. The minibar fridge was on but inside was room temperature and didn't get any colder overnight.

The room was cosy and a great shower. Brunch was delicious, we didn't take the breakfast included, so we tried the eggs and toast. It was a good portion and tasty. As for the dinner, I personally loved the Shrimp Risotto. It was really close to the city center, we walked around pretty almost of the time. Also Pet friendly, and with sustainable practices just made it an amazing experience.

The internet was flagged as unsafe with one device, and I was trying to watch a game and the connection wasn't ideal, but it's not a dealbreaker. But I just say this as an improvement (it worked ok almost of the times)

Our room was spacious, plenty of room for luggage as well as an armchair, coffee table and work-desk. The hotel was a short walk to the historic centre, a nearby supermarket and local buses. Our favourite cafe was O Croissant in Praca 8 de Maio; best restaurant Sete just off the same square.... an easy walk from Tivoli. We only had the buffet breakfast one morning but there were plenty of options to cater fro all breakfast preferences.

The corridors were a little dark and gloomy.

It is all about the staff at Tivoli Coimbra. They are great. The room, while spacious had several issues. The bathroom was also a good size and the shower was good. The location was ok. It is located halfway between the Coimbra B train station and the Santa Cruz Cathedral. Breakfast reminded us of more 3 or even 2 star hotel.

This is NOT a four-star hotel. The towels are raggedy. The doors to the rooms are hollow. We frequently had issues with our key cards not working in the door. You had to delicately flush the toilet, or it would run continuously. I could not believe that this was an NH property. We have stayed at several NH hotels and this did not equal our past experiences by far. They need to put more money into updating and improving the facility to bring it UP to a four-star rating. We found it very overpriced for what one experienced.

The Tivoli Coimbra hotel is placed in a good position: with a ten minutes walk it is possible to reach all the main attractions of Coimbra. About the hotel. The reception is styled in modern design but comfortable. All the staff at the reception is very kind and available to give suggestions and information. If you are travelling by car, I suggest their car park: it is cheaper than the public one behind them and the car is parked by them. The room was at the second floor, with the overlook on the parking area, therefore it was very quiet. We had a standard room, with two twin single beds. The space is good for two people with a proper wardrobe, which includes also the safe and a small fridge. The cleanliness was fine as the sheets and linen. The bathroom is cosy with the sink of proper dimensions.

Front desk staff and restaurant staff were great! Went above and beyond. Special shout-outs to Catarina and Andre. Room was spotless and a good size. Restaurant food and drink was tasty, well-sized, and reasonably priced. Breakfast was very good: lots of choices, hot, good quality.

A minor negative is that the hotel was in the hotel district which is relatively near the old city but not as close as we had been able to find in some other cities we visited. Also, the bed was VERY FIRM. My husband loved it, but I'd have liked something a little more pliable. If you like a firm bed you'll be VERY happy with it!

Is not the first time I stay at Tivoli. Is a well located and organized hotel. The team are so efficient and so kind. It seems that everything is possible when you ask something to them. They are professional and this gives me a lot of proud of Coimbra and Portugal.

Everything is perfect. I dont have nothing to complain regarding hotel. Maybe parking is not a best issue of the hotel, but you can find easily some options and they also can provide a service of valet for you. I also was at the bar of the hotel and everyhting is so delicious and staff wonderful. At the end one of them was not so kind as the others, but I can understand, because he was dealing with a lot of issues at the same moment I asked the bill.

Hotel is about a half mile from the historic center of the city (eg. Municipal Market area), so you can easily walk there from the hotel. The lobby is small and somewhat dingy, but the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Shout-out to Catarina for her time in trying to help us.

Parking is a bit of a problem. The hotel offers (but doesn't guarantee) a valet parking spot for 13 Euros a day. It worked fine for us. Internet was a bit slow, but worked.
