Costa de Prata Hotel

The staff were so very friendly and helpful - nothing was too difficult. We loved the breakfast room and there was a good selection of food, from cold meats, cheeses and pastries to fruit, bacon and eggs. There was also a good selection of teas and coffees. I also really liked the view of the harbour mouth where we could watch ships being guided in and out of the harbour by the pilot boat!

The only downside is that the hotel is south-facing and so in winter the rooms get the sun all day long. This made the room a little warm at the end of the day and at this time of year the air con is only used for heating so it wouldn't cool the room. BUT having said that the beautiful big windows could be opened wide to let the cooler air in. Reception warned us about this at the very start of our stay and so we were not surprised by it.

Room was facing the ocean, clean comfortable, great price

The huge sliding closet doors were off the track, unable to move them. The window opened but was unable to close it, The lighting was weird, switches and lights everywhere. Some switches did nothing,

The location close to the beach and the town centre. Friendly staff. Excellent value. Wonderful view from the breakfast room.

Having to feed the parking meter in front of the hotel which has no private parking. The bathroom was a bit tired and could use a new bath and toilet seat which was a different shape to the toilet!

The rooms and public space were modern and sparkling clean. The staff were really friendly, efficient and helpful. The breakfast (which you could have in your room or in the dining area) was very good and inclusive in the price. The breakfast area was on the sixth floor and had panoramic sea views. The room had a great view of the marina, fort and the sea. There was aircon in the room, very good double glazing so was quiet at night even though there was a quite busy road between the hotel and the beach. The bathroom was nicely kitted out with a bath and easy to work shower overhead. Constant hot water. Clean towels etc. The lift was quick and efficient. There was good attention to covid safety and that made us feel safe to stay there.

Very small niggle....not much in the way of toiletries in the en-suite bathroom, just little bars of soap and packets of liquid wash...but I wouldn’t have expected more at the very reasonable price for our stay and these were renewed daily along with the room being beautifully cleaned

For a 3 stars hotel almost everything was ok. Staff very friendly, good room and clean. Some areas at floor although clean look like stains. This means that wear is noticeable.

Since I don't travel since a while it seemed to me that breakfast had not big variety of food. But once is 3 stars maybe the standard is this one.

Reception very helpful provided a cake for my husbands birthday on request, The view, especially from the breakfast room, bedroom was clean and cosy the decor was nice. Breakfast personnel very nice especially the young man who spoke To us in English and made us feel welcome, the location was ideal.

The "fresh" fruit at breakfast wasn't 1st class, 1st days breakfast was fine but no bacon left on our 2nd day and the scrambled eggs were dry and not hot. The kettle used to make our own tea needed cleaning. We think the reception staff should advise you the parking outside the hotel is not theirs so you should NOT leave you car overnight as You will be given a parking ticket.

Good location, clean, comfortable, good range of price.

Short room and small TV, but all more then enough. Only one elevator allowed to take only 2 persons at a time.

Comfy bed, large rooms, to floor restaurant with view

Hairs in bathroom, not the cleanest facilities. No cover on the actual duvet. No lights in the restaurant toilet no tea making facilities

Spacious room, lovely pool and fantastic food.

The location which was my fault as I don't have a car but it was nice and quiet. The hammam was closed but due to covid restrictions I assume.

The room had an excellent view and the hotel was extraordinally well located.
