Pestana Promenade Ocean Resort Hotel

Good looking hotel with most of the rooms facing Ocean. Very friendly staff always ready to help with any queries. Relaxing atmosphere through hotel. Plenty of restaurants and shops around, however hotel is located away from busy night live and stays quite at night for good sleep.

Biggest disappointment was food served for Breakfast or dinner. We bought packet of five dinners which we asked for refund for two remaining after having three disappointing dinners. Also pricing at pool bar was to expensive and bar has been empty most of the time. I’m sure that lowering prices a little would brought more clients to purchase cocktail or cold beer while relaxing at pool. Also air conditioning in the room was very loud and most of the nights we had to switch it off and have a balcony open instead.

Very comfy beds. - Location just idyllic - walk up the prom into town or down prom for scenic walk, bars & restaurants, Forum Shopping centre etc. - Top-notch breakfast includes fizz and freshly squeezed orange... served till 11am! - Free Parking nearby was available at the time of our stay. Fabulous comfortable Spa with massive & vigourous hydrotherapy pool, spacious Turkish etc

Excellent location only 10 min by bus to Funchal city centre and loads to do in the area, shopping centre 10 min by foot and nice walks along the ocean promenade Excellent room size and wonderful stay. We will be back. Breakfast was very good as well and staff very friendly and customer oriented

We were really pleased with the room location with a wonderful terrace at swimming pool level. It's a pity that there weren't any deck chairs available on the private terrace. Also the pool towels were picked up twice but not changed a bit strange. The curtains in the room were quite dirty.

Had a wonderfull stay at Pestana Promenade Ocean Resort. The hotel is stunning with spacious rooms, all offering ocean views. The pool is delightful, and the breakfast and dinner buffets are excellent. However, what stood out the most was the exceptional kindness and service from the entire staff - truly heartwarming! The initial contact with Dalida was superbly helpful, and this level of service continued throughout our stay. Our time was made even better by the wonderful Madeira island. This resort is a definite go-to for future trips to Madeira. (see picture from our room)

Travelling with our 1 year old twins and being our first family holiday the friendly, helpful staff and hotel Manager Julio made it very comfortable for us; nothing was too much. The breakfast was excellent with a lovely choice of good food, breads, pastries and fresh fruits. The staff were so helpful and made the twins eggs and porridge just the way they like it. A couple of nights during our stay we had the buffet Dinner which was also lovely offering a variety of Fish, Meat and Vegetarian options with a fabulous selection of sides, salads, breads, cheese’s and dessert. The facilities, including the three outdoor pools of which one was an infinity pool, wonderful kids pool and large indoor pool were amazing. All set within picturesque landscape gardens. The rooms are nice and the hotel has a high standard of cleanliness everywhere. I highly recommend this hotel and we will be back soon.

We loved absolutely everything. The location could not have been better, staff so polite and friendly, good choice of food at the breakfast bar , nice and easy excess to the pool, not too noisy with night entertainmen but still tropical, portugease nights/ dancing and signing events ( just not too many which was great) clean rooms and fresh towels provided everyday , we are really pleased and planning to come back; nice clean pool and warm water , great indoor pool pool, sauna, jacuzzi , all you really need ,highly recommended

I woukd like a gel manicure and pedicure to be available, a simple polish would not last if in a swimming pool every day .....

Facility was great, easy to get around. Plenty to do and keep kids entertained. The staff went above any beyond and only happy to help whenever possible. Rooms were kept clean and no issues with extra towels etc

The Deck bar beside the swimming pool was extremely expensive and unfortunately meant we didn't stay on site throughout the day for this reason. If the price and quality of food matched it would have not been an issue but an example of a Cesar salad costing over €12 and it was extremely small was just one issue

Hotel is located in front of the ocean, and it’s rather close to Funchal centre. It takes around 15 minutes tops by bus, or 40 minutes walk. Public transport stop is in front of the hotel. There are shops and restaurants nearby as well, which are in several minutes walking distance. All the staff in the hotel were super-nice and helpful, you really get a sense of what hospitality means :) Breakfasts are nice and diverse enough, you have different options, however, they are not changing much.

At least some of the rooms need renovation, the furniture is intact, but walls are somehow stained. It did not ruin the impression from the hotel, however, it would be nice to have the rooms fresher.

The hotel is exposed perfectly to the see and you can observe beautiful sunrises. It has external pools but also a relatively big indoor which includes an hydromassage pool, both useful when the weather is too cold.

The room was a bit outdated but it was an offer so. The breakfast food is a bit repetitive, but it is ok for a week stay, but the quality can definitively be improved without getting bankrupt.

Pool complex was lovely. Hotel beautiful modern and clean. Large bedroom with private balcony with sea view. In excellent location with some good restaurants within easy walk. A promenade with access to a public lido. Breakfast included but could opt for additional meal package. Buffet Breakfast very good with hot/cold dishes to cater for most tastes. Opted for the omelets made to order. Also a poolside snackbar. Able to reach old town, parks and port area by good public bus service or taxi.

Room showing a few signs of wear. Bathroom perhaps in need of some modernisation - shower over the bath but perhaps difficult for elderly clients to get in and out of. Also, our room was quite a way from nearest lift could be a problem for the less mobile. Although hotel quite quiet, there is a fair bit of building work going on in the vacinity. A few complaints regarding tea and coffee at breakfast - not to people's taste.
