Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel

Nice location, nice hotel, beautiful view. Grate access to ocean and Snorkeling. Newly renovated with nice and spacy rooms and grate colours.

Service could be better. After several talks with reception, we decided to buy battery for ventilator by our selvs. Many promises, but no results. Taxi to airport was forgotten by receptionists, but at least they fixed them mistake by ordering a good, safe and helpful taxi driver at once after we found out that it was forgotten to do it. They need to improve with service, but everything els was grate. We would definitely come back to the same hotel again.

How do you not love this hotel? It has the best location of any place we have stayed. We have been to Madeira four different times since 2017 but this is the first time staying at the Pestana Lido. The rooms are directly on the ocean where you hear the relaxing sound of the waves. The beds are very comfortable with wonderful linens. The Pestana staff is also remarkable. They go out of their way to make you feel special. My husband even had the breakfast staff sing happy birthday to him and gave him a cake to take back to our room! The Valentine’s 6 course meal was outstanding. The pool bar staff was awesome. Thank you for our fantastic 12 night stay! We will be back!

Everything was perfect!

- superb sea view - perfect location near fine restaurants. The Funchal centre is 5-10 by bus, but 90% of the restaurants there offer the same and mediocre food (pizza, fries and burgers) - all in all we had a good stay and would book again

- The air-conditioning didn't work which made the room very humid and warm. We mentioned this 3 times to the staff and had to ask for a solution ourselves explicitly. They indicated that it was unclear when it would be fixed. When we asked to change rooms (when we went to the reception for the third time) they were very helpful. - you can feel the springs of the mattress, rooms were a bit outdated

Everything about this property is simply fantastic. Excellent customer service throughout our stay, the staff was very accommodating and we felt like VIPs. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet, and our balcony view could not be beat. The breakfast buffet was amazing as well, with something for everyone. We also loved the location, it is close to the downtown without being in the heart of it, and the promenade provided excellent walking paths. A great restaurant and a large grocery store were right across the street as well. We will stay here again when we return to Madeira.

Absolutely nothing, this is one of the nicest properties and lodging experiences we have ever had.

Great value for money - breakfast had a wide variety of food available, service at each of the bars were friendly and attentive, amenities were clean. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Free limited parking on site, just buzz the gate.

Beds are old and uncomfortable. My partner and I shared a bed of two singles put together. My partner's bed was sinking on one side.

I enjoyed my stay a lot! The room was well prepared, always clean. The staff were friendly and polite. The location is quite convenient to have a 30 min walk to the historical centre passing by a very nice area full of good cafe and restaurants. The park is also not that far and a great place to chill!

The staff knew that I will come alone yet there were 2 small beds instead of 1 king size. They could have arranged a better sleeping conditions beforehand for me not to spend the time of my vacation to resolve it. After all I had only 4 days I wanted to spend to explore the island.

Great breakfast, good pool, and the position are good that you can go directly to the sea. The receipt is very kind, they help as long as you ask, the room is good and big, the price is quite good enough to get all these.

1. About the room daily cleaning, maybe cleaners need to pay more attention to the trash on the table or counter because they didn't clean it... 2. The wifi signal is not good enough when you get inside the room.

The staff and location were incredible, with a fantastic view over the ocean and the coast of Funchal. The location allowed for comfortable nights with the ocean waves crashing underneath the balcony and waking up with the golden sunrise lighting up the room. Breakfast and facilities were great as well and the ability to book and organise trips with support of the reception also provided great convenience. The hotel also was kind enough to provide free parking based on availability, but there were plenty of (paid) options in close vicinity if needed. The availability of a ceiling fan and aircondition further enhanced the comfort and the complementary water and juice in the minibar were a nice touch as well. The attention of detail with the personalised letter and welcome notice on the TV were cherry on top in the personalised service experienced. The TV has an easy to operate application allowing to watch TV, connect to entertainment apps, see the weather forecast, flight information and hotel information. Overall an absolutely great experience and Pestana has become our preferred future stay on Madeira and elsewhere.

Since we had an internal door between two rooms, the sounds from the neihbouring room did sometimes get through and there is not many free electrical sockets. Don't worry, we replugged the lamp. Also, it would have been nice if the bathroom tap made more use of the sink, as the water stream is too close to the edge. Unfortunately our room did not provide a menu for restocking of the minibar or room service (we didn't bother ask either) but this is easily solved by the large supermarket across the street.

The location was perfect, near the beach, the city stores, restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was amazing! The restaurant has a nice view to the ocean were you can enjoy sunrise if you go for breakfast early. The rooms and property were clean. The staff are super nice and friendly always ready to help. I loved that we got a sweet local pastry from management when we arrived and a box of chocolate at departure. Super thoughtful 🤩 Definitely coming back!!

Everything and everyone were great! Only a tip for the future ☺️ Make a roomservice menu with simple snacks like burgers with fries, pasta’s, Pizza or a local dish. And dessert of course 😉

We really loved this hotel and we recommend this accommodation, both for the location and the staff. The staff were very nice and really want to help and did an excellent job! The breakfast was magical with a dreamy view. We couldn't have booked anything better

We didn't get information that they were under renovation, so a bit of a bad impression, but overall I have nothing bad to say about this hotel
