Azores Youth Hostels - Sao Miguel

- beautiful and spacious building with nice seating areas, everything is really clean - really friendly staff :) - location is great, close to the city center and the beautiful botanical garden António Borges - the breakfast was great for a "hostel breakfast" (it would just be nice to also have some plant based milk) - price was great for what I've got (me as a female who prefers to sleep in female dorms also really appreciated that the female dorm was the same price as the mixed dorm)

- for me the beds were not really comfortable - a kitchen (or at least a fridge + microwave + kettle) would be great

The common areas are great with couches, tables and TVs. You can also get cheap drinks at the hostel. We never once waited to use the showers or toilets and the bathrooms were very clean. The breakfast was really good but it was the same for every day so if you stay for longer you'll probably grow tired of it at some point like we did. - Breakfast was very basic; - I was working remotely and I think because our room was in the "back" I did not have enough wi-fi signal to work from my computer. Luckaly I had my hotspot which I used, and worked just fine. But be aware in case you do not have that option; - We need to leave your key at the reception every time we leave the premises;

The hostel was clean and beds were comfortable. Although it was a bunk bed, they were very stable especially on the second floor. There was included breakfast in the price despite the fact that there was not variety and was same every single morning.

There was problem with the Wifi during whole our stay (I was there for 5 nights). Also, they didn't solve it, so there was not internet connection. Also, they asked for deposit (authorization upon check in). Moreover, the lockers couldn't lock without having padlock but we didn't have any problems about that.

Very clean. 24 hour reception. Snacks and drinks available. The breakfast was simple but very sufficient. Nice common lounge area. About 10 minute walk from the main downtown area, but next to a beautiful botanical garden, open to public. The hostel also has a nice garden where one can sit outside.

No complaints. If you want to lock your valuables, remember to bring a small padlock for the lockers, but I felt pretty safe.

The view from the hostel and the location next to the one botanical garden. The room was very spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The architecture of the house is amazing, the common areas are also great for relaxing. The people who work at the reception are helpful.

The bathroom was outside of the room which isn't very comfortable. There's not even a mirror or a small sink in the room. It can get very loud because very big groups of youngsters come and go and scream in the common areas, even in the evening. Breakfast is not very good, just very basic so you'll be better off if you just go to a bakery and grab something that you like. No fridge for the guests to put your stuff or to cook your own food. Breakfast area gets locked after breakfast.

This was a nice hostel, very clean and had good breakfast. Lots of showers and the bathrooms were clean. It is a bit further away from the water front, but still not a far walk. It is right next to the shopping mall and a grocery store. The vibe was different than other hostels that I've been in, but I also had food poisoning when I was there so it probably skewed my experience. I had a balcony in my room which was a huge bonus and nice surpise.

The beds were a bit shaky so being on the top bunk I was a little on edge compared to other hostels that I've been in. They also didn't have a kitchen or fridge. They do say this in the ad, but just a heads up for people expecting to be able to cook and store their own food.

The staff were great, helpful in every way. Obrigada! Also, the location was great, a short walk to centre and to the shopping centre where you could buy reasonably priced meals and YES to do laundry for 4€. The building itself and gardens around it were beautiful. I do recommend. (Do remember it is a hostel not a hotel)

Location offered parking spot and 10-15 min walk to downtown. Building itself is an old fortress or something so it looks very cool, especially the common rooms. Toilets/showers were not so easy to identify, but once found, they were new, pretty spacious and generally in good condition.

better marking of toilets/showers would be practical. the rest was ok. beds squek when turned around :D

Great location and service. We used it twice for one-night stays after arriving late to the island, and leaving early. The 24/7 check-in makes this easy. We will definitely stay here again when we are passing through Ponta Delgada.

The showers were possibly co-ed? It was hard to tell with limited signage on them. Thankfully both of us used the showers when no one else was there.
