Pestana Porto - A Brasileira, City Center & Heritage Building

Amazing rooms, great staff, and great service. We were greeted amicably and felt welcome at the hotel. Water and port wine when you walk in. Rooms were very nice - like surprisingly nice. Great color choices, soft towels, nice soap, the whole 9, even a nice Assa Abloy safe.

Sao Bento train station is a very good location, but not the best location. Porto itself is very hilly, and Pestana Porto happens to sit at the bottom of one of these localized mini-hills. It's a bit of a (albeit flat) walk to the main bridge for a sunset view. Far from the river and quite far from areas like Foz. The breakfast is not worth it - you are so much better off going and getting yourself a little cachorro from a cafe.

It's a delightful place in the heart of Porto, near enough to the the tourist attractions (the Se, the river, shopping) while also set apart just enough to feel like an oasis from all the hubbub. And the offering of a glass of white port during check-in was the perfect welcoming touch! The staff couldn't have been more gracious.

Extremely kind and polite staff. We arrived early in the morning and they let us have the room as soon as it was ready. Room was very comfortable and clean, great size. The hotel has the perfect location for exploring the city.

Everything was perfect. The only thing that we did not like is the trip through the Duoro Valley organized by the agency that was recommended by the hotel. The agency is Duorofirst and the trip was waste of money and time. Even though the Duoro valley is beautiful, we could not enjoy the beauty of it as the trip was poorly planned.

The hotel was in a great location fairly central to the main tourist attractions. it’s in a beautiful old building and retains some original features, particularly the restaurant and cafe bar, however the rooms are modern with lovely large beds. we stayed on the 3rd floor overlooking the street and had two French windows with little balconies which we loved throwing open. The staff were extremely polite and the staff on reception were very helpful.

The service in the cafe bar was extremely slow and rather disorganised especially when busier. We sat outside for one evening intending to have a drink but having waited 20 mins and still not having been served we gave up and went elsewhere. we were not alone. we witnessed other potential customers doing the same and this didn’t just happen in the evenings, we also observed the same at breakfast time.

If you're looking for a great hotel in Porto with a delicious breakfast and close proximity to the city center, the Pestana Porto - A Brasileira is a great choice. The service is professional and polite, and there's a car park nearby if you need it. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay here.

The Pestana Porto - A Brasileira was a bit noisy due to the rain, and parking was a bit expensive. There was some dust in the wood desk, but overall the hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to others.

great location, Morden inside without taking away the history of the building

felt sorry for the staff particularly tin the restaurant, they did there best, and I must commend Rita who was always there for the guests. cannot understand why there were 5 staff behind reception when there are only 2 check in stations, 3 staff working the restaurant most of the time at this was very busy, the rooms were not cleaned until the afternoon, and again short staffed. management you need to sort your staffing levels out and support the staff. this is our 2nd visit and we experienced the same issues

Room is nice

Beds are too firm and feel hollow. Also the breakfast is not well run. The buffet part is great and very similar to the other experiences in portugal. I initially loved that I could order eggs or benedicts off the side menu, but I stayed there three nights in one week and on two of the days I ordered eggs from that menu, and they never came out. Also, is the coffee and water self-serve, or is the staff supposed to bring it? They passed me with an empty coffee much A LOT. The staff in the breakfast room also seem overwhelmed and confused at times.

Great Beaux-Arts building with some mid century design details. Nicely renovated. Well located and great staff.

There’s no coffee inn the rooms because of their “special” machines on each floor (and history of having the first espresso machines in Porto) but the one on my floor was broken the whole. time I was there. The orange rug in the room was probably a nice design detail when launched but now this one (probably like most) was stained and dingy. the plain hardwood floors would be better alone and much cleaner.

We had a lovely welcome at the hotel, friendly staff and a glass of white port. We also got an upgrade of a better room, some dessert and a bottle of Espumante because it was out 10th wedding anniversary which was a lovely surprise. Our room was excellent, massive bed, balcony overlooking the street where the theatre is so good for people watching, double sinks and large shower in the bathroom. Lovely decor and very clean and new. Although we were facing the street the room was very quiet and we couldn't hear anything from within the hotel either. There was never a wait for breakfast and the room was never full, there was a good range of healthy and more treaty options. The staff were very helpful and gave us some good advice on which beaches to visit and how to get there.

It's hard to pick something we didn't like. If I have to be picky I would say the breakfast could have been a little more varied for me personally. I don't eat eggs and the made to order menu was only that. There was an option of pancakes on that menu but when I asked they said the pancakes were already out, these were very small and there was no syrup to go on them which is my preferred topping!. Although there was Nutella and honey, fruit etc. Everything else about breakfast was very nice.

Convenient location and walkable to many restaurants and shopping.

Staff was great. We have US vaccinations that were accepted everywhere but this location. The hotel lined up covid tests for us and that met the requirements. Would be nice to know that while traveling so we can plan appropriately.
