Baia da Luz Resort

It was a really nice place with great facilities. There are two heated pool and bar onsite. The apartments are well decorated, clean and spacious. It really felt like home which I think ks the highest compliment. The rooms are immaculate and they provide beach and shower towels. Nespresso machines in each room. The beach is only a five minute walk away and there are loads of great places to eat in the town. The small fishing village of Burgau is very close and well worth visiting for lunch and the beach. Lagos is a beautiful nearby town and great for shopping. It's 6-10 euro in a taxi or 10 mins drive away.

We were given a smaller room that we had book. We were moved to a new room the next day in the late afternoon. The new room was far superior. We were glad we spoke up about it. It was handled well by the reception and the staff were excellent.

The apartment was immaculate and well positioned. The double air-con (main room and bedroom) was quiet and efficient. We didn't expect two visits from the cleaning staff for just a week's stay but they came and even changed the sheets as well as the towels. Very useful to have a large free swimming pool / beach towel. Lovely gardens well kept. Three heated outdoor pools one for adults only, one for families and one for kiddies...all very clean. Plenty of beach beds for everyone. The beach and extensive resort facilities were just a 5 minute walk away. The reception staff were extremely helpful. Good security.

The apartment was lovely and perfectly situated. The air con was amazing. The staff were mostly lovely and there was I nice little welcome pack.

That you only got a couple of cleans a week and clean towels. We asked for a late check out and that I was willing to pay and they only gave us an hour as they needed the apartment for the next guests. Also the lift broke down and we were on the top floor so when we left (4 Girls) getting the cases down was hard. Reception told us that there was no help but they would call the maintenance guy to look at it but it could be a while and that if we wanted to we could stay in the apartment for as long as it took. So clearly didn’t want to be helpful with the late check out as there seemed no rush.

Apartment very well equipped and great quality eg Kitchen equipment , drying rack etc. Master bedroom very spacious and lovely and comfortable bed. 3 bathrooms for the 3 bedrooms was great, Liked the toiletries and the milk in the fridge. Loved the tennis facilities and the pool table by the swimming pool and the adults and children's swimming pool layout. A nice little walk to the beach or the supermarket. And we use the spa treatment in your sister hotel and loved the complimentary facial and the beach towels. Liked the idea of the scheduled 2 visits of the cleaner in the afternoons

single beds - our teenage son said he felt the springs. Could have left a dishwasher tablet for each day of our stay and the cleaner did not come for the scheduled 2nd visit

Lovely place to stay for 10 days. Comfortable and very clean apparent on the second floor, 2 bedrooms. Lovely welcome pack when we arrived. The staff were super helpful at reception. Air con units throughout the apartment, good appliances too. Very clean, and cleaned 3 times while we were there. Facilities were good, family pool and adult only pool. The family one got busy at times but not too bad and there was a lifeguard around to keep things happy. Beach was about 10mins walk away.

It was all good. We didn't have much of a view but that wasn't a surprise really.

The duplex apartment was spacious and well equipt with 3 bathrooms which was ample for our family of 5. The roof terrace was great, large with furniture and great views of Luz and the sea. The two pools were great too with plenty of loungers for everybody, the kids loved the family pool and the adjoining restaurant poolside serving Italian food was a bonus. It was a short walk into the center of Praia da Luz with its buzzy promenade, restaurants, stalls and beaches. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Not having enough time to get to use the tennis courts!

Excellent location. Apartments spacious, every conceivable appliance one could wish for to make our stay so enjoyable.

The only adverse comment I would offer is in the one bedroomed 2nd floor poolside apartment the stairs from the ground floor to the entrance are extremely steep and narrow and thankfully we had a handrail to assist the upward climb. The stairs from the lounge area to the bedroom are similarly steep BUT without a handrail. These are marble steps and with the bath/shower room on the lower lounge level I feel the possibility of an accident is a possibility. Please accept this as a comment and not a complaint. Loved proximity to beach and local shopping and bus was easy to catch to go to Lagos Center . Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable especially Soraia.

Checkin very late at 4 pm and expected you to checkout very early at 10 am stating they need time to clean apartments. That’s 6 hours of no one in the apartment which is 25 percent of the stay you lose out on. Checkout should be at 12 pm.

The facilities in the appartement were great. Everything was there and clean: for example the washing machine was a big bonus as we could do the laundry before returning home. Another nice touch was that there were two bottles of water and one bottle of milk at arrival. Two pools at resort and the beach were fine. Luz is small city, not so much to see in the evening but enough for family and small walk. Lagos is nearby for more shopping, eating and action. Overall the location is very good being close to the must see activities in the Algarve. We came by bus to Lagos, after first spending three days in Lisbon. From there we took taxi to resort in Luz. The next day we rented a very small car giving us a lot of flexibility as well for the rest of the holiday in Luz. I personally liked also the hiking trails with view points along the cliffs. Recommended is Kayak tour in Lagos, Boat tour around and at Benagil caves, walking at view point in Sagres and seeing sun set at most south west point of Europe. We also visited Slide & Splash which was a lot of fun for the children. Weather was great as well during the day and also in the evening.

Things can always get better, but listing them here would be about little details that were really not that important

Second time with Baia da Luz, and was just as good the second time. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and clean - perfect for a family of 4 - and has all the mod cons you could want, plus an espresso maker. It's only 5 minutes to the beach and boardwalk and is really great value for money.
