Vila Luz

Really good location in the nice village of Luz. Good beach walking distance, goed restaurants in the neighborhood. Breakfast was really good, fresh. Free pool table and and bar where we had our last drinks before going to bed. The room is spacious we had privacy with our kids there. Good cleaning every day, we have cooked a few evenings and have had our diner at the balcony with a lovely views of the swimming pool and the ocean. In the surroundings a lot to see. Lagos is nice, Sagres with a beautiful sunset and and a surfing seen, Benagil where you can kano in between the see-caves. Shortly we had an wonderful holiday

Absolutely beautiful property perched on a hill overlooking the ocean. All rooms have a patio or balcony. Ours had a view of the ocean. Staff are delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and you can eat either inside or outside by the pool. It’s about 10-15 minute walk to the beach but if you’re adventurous (and fit) you can walk down the rocks and swim off the rocky shore 2 minutes from the beach. There are places closer to the beach but they did not look as nice. Tip- if you like to hike there’s a great trail on the west side of the beach that takes you up to the obelisk on top of the cliff. Best in the early morning when it’s not too hot. Fantastic views. Because of the angle and the way the sun rises over the cliff , if you’re quick (and an early riser) you can get to see the sun rise three times- once close to hotel, another on the beach and another on top of the trail by the obelisk.

Just what we wanted,private,quiet,clean,modern,well thought out layout of the resort very organised breakfast buffet always friendly smily faces in the morning willing to assist you in anyway needed couldn't fault it perfect for us a very relaxed atmosphere. 😀 pool towels provided rooms cleaned daily if required and a very useful well equipped kitchenette perfect for a lazy lunch and back to the sunloungers to top up the tan and a little nap! Loved the large shower area and decor in the bathroom spot on 👍

One thing that did Mar the stay was sadly a family below our apartment who seemed think the pool area and patio area belonged to them solely all the 3 small children's detritus scattered all over the floor and surrounding area ,continual screaming from said children which seemed to never stop unless they went out for the day, and then returned with very over tired, grumpy children and a chronic case of parents ,that really had no clue of social etiquette ot sensitivity to other guests I know this was rather unfortunate , but it did have an impact on our longed for escape away.

- Modern and spacious apartment with a kitchenette, coffee maker (local Delta capsules - not included in the room though ;)), spacious and clean bathroom with enough storage space - Private parking right in front of the apartment - Cleanliness, friendly and always smiling house keeping staff - Breakfast was tasty with a good selection, we enjoyed our mornings very much - Charlie the cat, our favorite companion during breakfast 😸 - I appreciate hotels that take care of local animals instead of chasing them away, thank you 💛 - Location is great, walking distance to restaurants, supermarket, the beach and hikes. We had a car but you could perfectly spend your vacation here without a car as well.

- Breakfast didn't start until 8:30 which we found to be a bit late, but this is standard for Portugal - The main entrance door to the apartments has very poor sound insulation, so you could really hear everything from outside your door. We stayed off peak season and only had neighbors for 2 or 3 nights, so we weren't too bothered, but I can image it might be an issue during busy months

We loved our stay at Vila Luz! The location is perfect for those looking for time to relax and unwind. The pool areas were clean and comfortable. In fact the entire complex was spotless from top to bottom. Our room had a balcony that looked out over the Mediterranean. And came with a beautiful luunge chair and table to enjoy a glass of wine. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was perfect, good closet space for our clothes and the room very large. But the best part of Vila Luz had to be the staff. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate my wife's gluten and lactose problems and baked fresh GF bread for her breakfast. Wonderful resort, exceptional staff! And a ten minute walk to restaurants and bars. Loved it.

With my wife I stayed initially for 3 weeks in June and then extended for another 5 days. A family of 5 including 3 small children shared the pool area and were a pleasure to have around especially as the hotel would have been very quiet otherwise. Our decision to extend our stay speaks for itself, We drove from Ireland and perhaps could have been hard to please, but really, we could not have had a more welcoming experience, - well done.

Breakfast was allrt, nothing out of the ordinary. Room was great for a family. Peaceful. Nice garden and balcony. you can walk 5 min downhill and come across a beautiful view of the ocean. The closest beach is 15-20 min away by walk but you can always get an Uber. Plenty of restaurants on the beach. overall great stay. if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is an ideal location. (if you are driving for the first time here, it can be a bit confusing).

good location, the apartment was new and clean and really nice. I really liked the bathroom. wonderful view of the ocean. the staff really kind and helpful.

This lovely small hotel was set in a really quite location amongst lots of private villas, just a short walk to the cliff top path. We had a 1st floor apartment with a stunning view of the sea and the pool area. The underground car park was really useful as it kept the car cool during the day. Breakfast choices were really good, something for everyone including fruit, fresh bread & pastries, cereal, yoghurts, bacon, eggs, beans, cold meats, cheeses, freshly squeezed orange juice and lovely coffee selections… best of all, it can be eaten outside by the pool or if you have a ground floor room on your own sun terrace, how cool is that! This hotel is run by a small team that really care about your stay and will make sure that anything you need is taken care of without any fuss. The rooms are very clean and the maids are charming and really efficient.

I honestly cannot list anything that I didn’t like about Vila Luz. Some people may say that a few rooms need updating, but if that’s all you can mention… it’s really minor.

The appartment was very clean and modern, nice quality of the furniture. The size was very good for 2 people, but for 4 is a little tight, since kinds were staying on the "living" room, it was good nevertheless. The pool was right outside, which allows the kids to play while you can stay very near them and do things in the room. The breakfast was good, not pretentious but it had everything we needed. Plus plus, I stayed with my dog and they were very welcoming about it, I could go anywhere with her as long as she was in her leash.

A little expensive for a room, bur very nice quality. The location is nice, but I prefer when the hotel is walking distance to the beach.
