Herdade Da Corte

This is a hotel to scape the crowds, which in August in the Algarve is very welcome. The setting is idylic. The rooms are spacious, clean and well air conditioned. The beds are comfortable. The hotel has a family feeling to it, the pool was very nice and never crowded. There were plenty of families and our daughter made friends with children who were staying there. The breakfast is very good and the petiscos (tapas) options for dinner are well prepared. The staff is very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The recommendations by the managers (specially Joao) were incredibly on point and never disappointed.

The annex with the family suites is away from the main hotel. It is not too far, but it is a steep and narrow road, not really walkable with young children - specially in August heat. But that does mean it is very quiet up there at night. While the rooms are spacious, they could do with one or comfortable chairs (or a sofa), a new TV and wifi (there is wifi in the main hotel, but not on the family annex, at least when we visited) Bear in mind the hotel is 15 minute drive from anywhere, which I like but may be a consideration for others

Location was great for us, well out in the countryside. A vehicle would be needed unless all the time is to be spent at the location. The rooms were basic but were clean and quite sufficiently equipped for our stay. Breakfast was good and a more than reasonable choice of items to enjoy. The pool and surrounds were attractive and would entertain families for quite some time. João - the host had a lot of time for each guest, explaining all about the hotel, rooms and location and also provided oodles of information about this area of Portugal and was on hand much of the day and evening.

The bed frame in our room and that of our friends kept catching our legs when we each walked around the bedrooms. The frame as substantially bigger than the mattress. A painful learning curve was needed to negotiate this safely!

Excellent facilities, breakfast, tapas, pool and customer service. Our family suite was surprisingly bigger than expected. The view of the area surrounding the property was beautiful. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the terrace and taking in the view and sounds. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beds were a bit hard to sleep on but we still enjoyed our stay. You can only get wifi in the main building but that didn't impact us at all as we had plenty of data on our mobile phones. You do have to have a car to get to the main building from the family suite for breakfast or to use the pool. Otherwise it's a long walk back and forth.

not the end of the world but our family suite was located a short drive from the main part of the hotel which meant driving up and down with children and us being separated from the rest of our party who were in a double room by the pool. Lots of sharp edges around the room and pool area was not toddler friendly, but fine once children are steady on their feet

Staff were superb from conversation to suggested visits & activities. Need a car - punkt! Relaxing by the pool one of the highlights, peaceful, tranquil, cooling off when too hot. We traveled to markets in Loule, Tavira & several more inaccessible beaches. Even a roman villa from 1AD, amazing. Great for exploring the region.

For us it was idyllic. We don’t do resorts. The setting outside of Tavira was perfect. We loved the solitude, the bird life and proximity to eastern Algarve attractions. It felt like we had a private pool and private dining.

Nothing. However you do need to understand if you like swimming it is better to be by the house than in the suites up the hill.

This is a out of the way retreat for those wanting it a bit more quieter and personal. The staff are amazing and go out there way to chat and help. Like many in the trade they are in that coming out covid phase and adapting again. We felt relaxed and welcomed. Food was good and as like all a basic continental choice, which filled.

I was not aware we would not be in the main hotel area but the annexe up the hill which was roomy and clean, just having to drive down for breakfast was a pain, We could have walked but poured rain days we were there :(

Nice quiet location in the middle of nature, perfect if you just want to have some quiet rest this time of the year (early March). Pool and play area for children at the main building (I stayed in a building about 1 km away), so it might be more lively during the high season

If you want to dine, you need to request dinner during off-season in advance. Otherwise you will need to drive a few kilometres to the nearest restaurants. It may be worth to note down the coordinates, Google Maps recognize the place but some other apps (e.g. Garmin) may not.

Fantastic place in the rural algarve. Close to Tavira and many beaches around. Great breakfast, beautiful views and an amazing saltwater pool.

If i had to pick one thing - the beds were quite hard, a more comfortable mattress would have made the stay even better. Otherwise a great stay!

Herdade da corte felt like a hidden game, a beautiful, peaceful setting only minutes from great beaches, towns and the hustle of the algarve. The staff are super helpful, the breakfasts wonderful and the whole experience totally relaxing.
