Hotel Don Rodrigues

I love how small this hotel is, it makes it feel really special and not over crowded. At points we were the only people around the pool, very personal. I love that is was less than 5 euro taxi into Tavira centre. I also love how the bedrooms get cleaned daily.

My friend struggled with the hard mattress, i wish there was a little more choice for a cooked breakfast. The only down side to our room was the white corrugated metal dividers on the balcony, it felt very closed in. To say the hotel is of such high standard that really let the room down.

First time here, a very friendly hotel in a good location on the edge of town. Breakfast was fine, both hot and cold options. Secure parking a bonus ! Hotel is spacious, comfortable and we had a terrace which was an additional bonus. Well appointed and friendly welcome by João. A very popular restaurant attached which is worth trying. Walk into town was easy. Would definitely recommend.

Nothing to disklike

We only stayed two nights on a bed and breakfast deal. The room we had was set up with three single beds as requested, it was lovely and clean. The wee fridge inside the wardrobe was handy for keeping cold drinks. Breakfast was extensive and excellent the restaurant had both indoor and outdoor seating. We didn’t have time to use the pool which we were disappointed at. We would use Hotel Don Rodrigues again.

This was a wonderful little hotel. Very comfortable size, very clean, and interesting decor. I don't think you could get better value, it really provided everything we needed for a very reasonable cost. The breakfast was good, the air conditioning worked well, the shower worked well, the wifi was good, and the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There is a large pool area with comfortable seating, and a terrace where you can take your breakfast (ours was included in the price and had good variety). There is a restaurant at the hotel that looked very good but unfortunately was closed the two days we were there for the holiday. The hotel is a bit removed from the town of Tavira, about a 15-minute walk and there are parts of the road with no sidewalks, so we walked there during the day only and drove there at night, but it was easy to find parking. Tavira itself is a lovely town with a beautiful river running through the middle. Not a beach town so not as touristy, which we really liked.

I can't think of any negatives, a really lovely hotel.

I was pleased that parking was in a secure, gated area. The breakfast exceeded my expectations in that not only were there the "usual" eggs, toast, yogurt, etc., but also a nice spread of various pastries. Breakfast staff were friendly and helpful with the various options. The room was clean and comfortable. The desk clerk went out of his way to explain parking, building access after hours, and the breakfast.

One minor thing: it was not explained how to get out of the gated parking area after you park you car. I could see no pedestrian access, and finally just used the key card to open the car gate.

The location is close to A22 and a short car drive to the city center. Vinci and his colleagues were among the best we’ve encountered within Portugal. They were always eager to meet every guest’s need with a cordial smile and “Can Do” willingness. We appreciated the large variety of breakfast items and the co-location with the O’Tacho restaurant for lunch and dinner. Hotel Don Rodrigues and it’s many amenities provided a most relaxing 4-day holiday for us.

Amazing hotel. The breakfast is absolutely great and the staff are just wonderful. So warm and welcoming and kind. Joao especially was so kind and helpful everyday. Location is so near the main town and everything was perfect. The pool area is fabulous.

Nothing all was great. You do have to cross a busy road to get into the town but once you’re careful it’s fine.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate and quiet, with a very comfortable bed. Especially appreciated the private parking area. The breakfast had a large array. This hotel exceeded our expectations.

Walking access to Tavira required crossing a busy road, but access by car was easy with plentiful parking.

Easy to find. Clean and comfy, quiet room. Lovely staff. Supriseingly good breakfast selection. Went above and beyond to cater for my gluten free diet. Really good restaurant next door. Great for an overnight.

Whilst it suited us, hotel is located just outside main town and close to a road junction. Fine for an overnight stay but I wouldn't want to stay in that location for long. As staff were so great we would definitely recommend this hotel.

The exceptional breakfasts everyday! All the fresh baked breads and typical Portuguese sweets were terrific. The receptionists and all the staff were lovely and extremely helpful.

Not close to Tavira as I expected; had to take taxies every day. The restaurant was unexpectedly closed for 5 days so that was really not good.
