Hotel Rural Quinta do Marco - Nature & Dining

A great place to stay for a few days on holiday. Very nice, well maintained surroundings. 2 excellent swimming pools and a jacuzzi. The staff are extremely attentive and friendly to guests. The food in the restaurant is excellent, we enjoyed the local food. The rooms are large and tidy. We were looking for a place that could offer beds instead of extra sofas and we got what we expected, which we are happy about (when choosing a trip with children). Every room (as far as we could see) has a terrace or balcony where you can have a cosy evening.

What a beautiful place, so typical Portuguese and the animals just give it that special and warm feeling like home. The staff were just out of this world! So kind and welcoming! Especially Pedro, with his Algarvian sass! They went above and beyond with our special requests. We hope to come back one day. As this was by far the best place we have ever stayed in Portugal! (Having lived there for 15 years 8years ago, we visit Portugal every year) The food was soooo tasty, offering a different meat, fish and even vegan dish everyday! We enjoyed the included breakfast buffet very much every morning! MUITO OBRIGADA AO STAFF ❤️

the large light-filled room was delightful - it even has a bath! - with a terrace overlooking the beautiful countryside and the pool and spa area. the steam rooms/sauna are great and massages are available on request. it’s a large area of nature reserve and much of the produce is grown onsite. dinner was excellent, the local wine very good and at breakfast there’s the opportunity to eat al fresco. there are lots of animals here - a donkey, cats, sheep, rare breed hens etc. which we really loved. this is just a glorious place

Stunning views from all rooms. Friendly, cooperative staff. Beautiful gardens and walks on the property itself. Easy parking. Everything as described in the brochure. Food was excellent - I was half board - beautifully fresh, well prepared, traditional meals presented in a modern way. Wine choices had great Portuguese varieties. Lovely sauna and steam room in the spa area. Very quiet and perfect for getting away from it all and healing.

The weather? Only kidding, it was seasonal and of course nothing to do with the property. Still very beautiful, bright and warm on most days. I didn't want to go into town for a phone card to call the UK, but they didn't have them at reception.

the location outside in the country is pretty. There are some farm animals, chickens, sheep, a donkey and some peacocks. the breakfast is fantastic and the service is lovely. there is lots of parking and the wifi is good

there was major construction going on. renovations and additions. This is a place for peace and quiet. minimal furniture, ready for replacement. stone floors, insufficient heating

beautiful place and people, spectacular views, orange orchard, herbs and flowers, meadow you can simply lay on, if you have kids there are some animals you can care of and feed them, surely nice swimming pool and clean rooms, in short tranquility and beauty, comfort and human warmth in it. it’s simply love from the first sight.

having so many vegetables all around, serving only tomatoes for breakfast is a bit disappointing (no lettuce, cucumber, onions, peppers, anything to make salad or at least give some vitamins in the morning), but possibly we have different eating habits. there is fire place but not firewood even for sale, strange. still 10/10

Bar and Restaurant staff friendly and very helpful. Sophia and Pedro made our stay thoroughly enjoyable and are major assetts to the Hotel. The food was good and the service swift and professional - full marks. Soraya was also very nice. Thanks for the spoon Sophia.

We found the 2 reception staff on our arrival quite cold and aloof. Could have been warmer and more welcoming.

Very friendly staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. While serving yourself, masks and use of tongs are mandatory. Superb views from the room/balcony. Heated pool. Rural area with hiking options.

We were most days gone for numerous hours. Returning to a room, mid afternoon or later, not attended to was ok for once, but numerous times not so. We are sure there might have been a staffing or other problem that we were not aware of. Nevertheless, we very much enjoyed our stay and do hope to return.

We particularly like staying here because it is rural. We also like the rooms, the views from the balcony and the food served in the restaurant. With a car, it doesn’t take long to get to the coast. The staff are nearly always helpful and friendly, with nothing being too much trouble. The gardens are also lovely to walk around and every effort has been made to place seating, so that the views can be enjoyed.

i've paid for double or king size bed, but we been given two sigle ones pushed togeather, and staff said that there is no one peace double beds in the hotel. just don't understand why the hotel selling this option then, if there is no double or king size beds.
