Abba Garden

Nice big room with a good supply of toiletries - my husband needed a razor & front desk staff were happy to oblige straight away. Lovely view of Barcelona from our window. Pool area nice to chill on a hot day Breakfast was good with a big choice of hot & cold food All the staff were pleasant & helpful

It was constantly in the 30 degrees plus throughout our stay, but despite having the air-conditioning on all night, it did not cool the room much. I chose the hotel because it was in a quiet area but didn't realise it was a 15 - 20 min walk uphill from the Metro. It's tiring after a day out. Also struggled to dry swimming things as our room didn't have a balcony

fantastic pool for a city destination which was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. only 10 mins walk to metro to get into the heart of barcelona. the hotel provided a shuttle bus from 7-10.30a.m and 3-8p.m which took you to the metro and back as well which was great especially back as it was quite a hill in the heat!! Food was good here. we had dinner a couple of times and was nice.

Could do with a little sprucing up. there were quite a few stains on our carpet so carpet needed replacing in the room. Didn’t effect our stay though.

We picked this hotel as we were looking for a more quiet and relaxing stay in Barcelona, and we were very happy with our choice. The room was clean, had a large, comfy bed and double door (no noise from the hall :) ). The staff was nice and helpful. Some reviewers had pointed out the location as a con, but we actually liked it. There are nice hiking trails and parks surrounding the hotel, perfect for those who enjoy outdoor activities. L3 subway line is ~15 minute walk away, and allows reaching all the major tourist attractions easily. It’s possible to arrange a free shuttle bus to and from hotel, but we enjoyed walking and discovering the neighborhood.

A small kettle in the room would be nice. Everything else was good; overall, a great value for the price.

Location was nice and the rooms were a good size and it was clean.

The double bed was two singles put together.

Nice place, good facilities including pool and restaurant, vending machine, close to public transport and supermarket. Nice view of the city from the surrounding areas.

We had an incident when at 8 am a maintenance person form the hotel just opened the door of the room after briefly knocking and not giving enough time to reply. I was not fully dressed at the moment of the incident and made me really angry. This was reported to the reception who at first acted defensive but then ended up apologising. It costs nothing and it is safer and more responsible to make a phone call to the room if you need maintenance staff to enter!!!!

Facilities, cleanness

1. Some staff wasn't in the mood to even say hello or worst reply to our hello. 2. Young guy as night receptionist who could speak English was so nice by the way. 3. Regarding the pool, guest with loud speaker and smoking around the pool, although it seems that they are alowed to do but it should be forbidden since it is a public pool for all guests and smoking is sooooooo annoying. 4. Cooling system at the room was not powerful enough

It was an enjoyable stay at the Abba Garden Hotel from 30th May to 2nd June. Check in was seamless after my flight arrived, and it was only a 15minute drive from the airport (around 22€.) The room was cosy and spacious, but views nonexistent as it faced to the side rather than out on to the road or the pool area. The inside area felt cramped with around 3 massive meeting rooms that were regularly hosting events or companies. I didn't visit the fitness centre. Inside, breakfast was never busy when I was there around 9:15am (7-10am breakfast service) and food was very basic. The only hot food was eggs, mushrooms, weird sausages and that's it - it was mostly cold food and some good snacks/sweet treats. The gastro bar was also good, had a nice steak cooked exactly how I asked which some places find difficult to do! All staff were exceptional with helping and spoke good English to overcome my broken Spanish! Only one issue with the gastro bar was waiting 5 minutes for the barmen, I presume as they were delivering room service (which was also good) - staff in that sense lacked but their service made up for it. The pool is a nice chilled area, rarely busy when I used to go past 1pm. Always a lounger available and can move around to get the most of the sun. The paddle tennis courts were frequently booked up which didnt help with that "cramped" feeling inside the hotel. The pool was clean and nice to use, and you could take your drinks to the pool in a plastic cup Transport links were not too bad - around 12minutes to the metro via the local park (which was beautiful) and less so to multiple buses. A massive shopping centre was around 25minute walk or roughly the same by walk/bus combination. Easy access to the city centre for sightseeing via the metro & buses. Very close to the airport (15mins) Overall I would recommend the hotel. I was relaxed there at all times and the hotel gave a good service.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The hotel offers nice facilities (pool, gym, bar), although we didn’t have time to try them. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection. The Wi-Fi worked well even in the evening.

The hotel is getting a bit old, which shows in the bathrooms and the corridors also have that old hotel smell. The location is in the eye of the beholder: quiet and upscale area, but far from everything.

There is no single thing that we could complain about when it comes to Abba Garden hotel. It was very clean, which was very important to us, staff was super nice, pleasnt and easy to talk to. Breakfast offers a lot of different food and it was very delicious. Gastro bar is nice and we enjoyed drinking coctails at the evening. The pool saved us from Barcelona heats. Near the hotel is beautiful park, and not so far away is metro station from which you can get to anywhere you want. If we come again, we will definitely stay at Abba garden.

The hotel is really nice, modern. The size of the room is great, huge bathroom, very comfy bed. The wifi works great and the room temperature can be set as you like. The staff is really nice and pleasant. Lidl at 5-7 min distance by foot.

The hotel is really far away from the city center. There is a metro station, but you need to walk almost 10 min.
