The staff were very helpful, from the moment I walked in, their warm welcome and eagerness to assist made me feel valued as a guest. They were quick to address any queries I had about the local attractions and even went out of their way to make recommendations for nearby rooftops (Abby). This level of attentive service greatly enhanced my overall experience.

My enthusiasm was somewhat dampened by the condition of the in-room maintenance. It seemed that the rooms themselves could benefit from more thorough upkeep. I encountered minor issues, a malfunctioning air conditioning unit,

5 Stars for everything here. Perfect Location, helpful staff, this hotel is in the middle of everything and the hotel is in a safe area. You can absolutely walk to the beatch and La Rambla.

No fridge

Great location, nice little balconies with beautiful views, friendly staff and VERY quiet, which I wasn’t expecting. We didn’t hear a thing from the street or even the hallway during our 4 night stay. It was everything we needed, and I was impressed with the cleanliness as well.

The lobby had a very strong smell, like a public bathroom that had been doused in scented cleaning products. It was almost unbearable but thankfully it was only the lobby that smelled this way and the rest of the hotel was fine. Beds were very hard and not comfortable at all, but we managed to sleep fine.

The hotel is very central with lots of restaurants, tapas bar and cocktails bar/club. The tube station is 5 min from the hotel, which is really good to use for visiting the city. The room was cozy and the lady at the reception, upgrade us a room with a small balcony even if the one I reserved was without, so amazing!! It is very clean and the staff is super nice. I was there for my birthday and on the day I found a muffin with a candle on my desk! It was super sweet and unexpected!! Highly recommended if you want to be close to everything (beach, ramblas, movida etc.) Thank you so much for your hospitality!!

Location, helpful and friendly staff and value.

Hotel's location was very central and in a really great area. You had public transport access, the beach, and great food all within 10 minutes of walking in any direction you chose. The hotel staff was very friendly and given it was a 24/7 reception, they were always present and welcoming. There is no breakfast on site but you have an option to purchase coffee and small snacks for 7 euro per person, we didn't try this as there were plenty other restaurants in the surrounding area. The hotel also has a small gym that is equipped with small but good selection of fitness gear - was a nice touch. We chose a small double room, and as the name implies it was small, barely a double bed with a small table and wardrobe, as well as big bathroom, but it was more than enough and all the necessary items were there. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were ok (there was one big harder one and one smaller squishier).

Some of the amenities in the bathroom were outdated and could do with a fix up - think of loose fitting towel hanger that wobbles and similar. Besides that no complaints really.

We didn’t have the breakfast, as it was not included, so we went out for breakfast. The view from my room was amazing and we loved the little balcony. The room was well-maintained. We enjoyed the towels, bath robes, coffee, and water in our room.

We would’ve enjoyed having a fridge in our room as all the other hotels we went to have had fridges so that was a bit disappointing. Also, the smell in the hallways and in the front foyer did not smell good. It smelled like the carpets were damp.

I would say a refrigerator would be nice to have in a room, especially when it's hot outside. Sometimes if you want to have some hamon or cheese in a room — it's better to keep it cold. Plus water. What if I don't want to buy small bottles all the time? And a wine bottle opener would be nice to add too. Take into consideration that the hair dryer in the bath is not too strong, so it's better to take one from home if you have long hair).

Great location for metro, walking about and exploring the gothic quarter and beach not that far a walk either. Lively but great soundproof glass to keep out noise when balcony doors closed. Cute little balcony with view of bars below. Nice clean decor. Good bathroom. Good aircon. Cool art themes in hotel and room. Staff helpful.

Beds were very squeaky and could do with replacing as when you turn over they make a noise! Couldn't get english subtitles on on TV but wasn't a big deal.

Excellent staff, could speak English and was extremely helpful and polite. The cleanliness was excellent, especially the perfectly white towels. The location is very good, close to the sea front and some minutes away from the historic centre and the high street shops. The Hotel is about 20 min ride from the airport, which is very convenient. There were plenty of bakeries and supermarkets on the same street, so we could buy food cheaper. We used taxi, Cabify, FreeNow and Bolt and the drivers were polite and safe and came on time. I will definitely stay again at Hesperia Barri Gotic Hotel.

Sometimes we could see pickpockets in the adjacent streets. Be very careful.
