Mornington Hotel Stockholm

The location of hotel is in the more upscale part of Stockholm, less rowdy and busy but still only one station (metro) away from city center (T-Centralan) good to come 'home' to after an excursion. Some good restaurants and supermarkets/departmental store within walking distance. The breakfast is good and overall staff service is great.

The rooms are a tad small. The front desk/reception experience varies depending on who is on duty. Staying 5 nights we had mostly friendly and great service except on one of the days when a staff in charge seems unfriendly and more dismissive instead of helpful. All we needed was something simple that could be easily accommodated..

Outstanding, helpful, professional and responsive staff made this a hotel we were delighted to return to after a week away. Just really nice people and happy to assist us as we traveled with handicaps. Great breakfast buffet suited a couple with different tastes. Good neighborhood, near lots of interesting restaurants and useful facilities. If you are a fan, don't miss the science fiction/fantasy bookstore in Old Town area--paradise!

Our room, while very comfortable and accessible, was over the outside restaurant and front entrance, which was not the best for an early-to-bed older couple. It's a lively scene in that area in the evening!

The staff were wonderful. The food was amazing. The lounge area was very comfortable. It was a very convenient location for us as we were visiting a son who lived locally.

Our bathroom was awful! Very small, the shower head was positioned so that if you left it on its support, water ran down a shelf and flooded the rest of the bathroom. The door was glazed so that whatever you were doing in the bathroom was visible to anyone visited the hanging cupboard ouside. Also the net curtain on the bedroom window only covered a very small portion of the window - so unless we had the curtains themselves shut, we were fully visible to the windows opposite - which weren't very far away.

Breakfast was of a very high standard - cooked selection was very good, cereals, fruit and cold selection of meats/cheeses, breads. coffee/tea and a large variety of cold fruit juices. Plenty of space to relax/lounge and the location is excellent. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful - a true measure...I was not entirely happy with a meal, this was immediacy actioned and not charged in a very friendly way. I asked to extend my checkout 'not a problem' no charge.

Very good hotel, excellent location just couple minutes of walk from the center. It is not super modern hotel, one can feel it is a bit older. Hotel is a bit dark inside, full of books (mostly in Swedish - so we were not able to read it :)), which makes it a charming place to spend time there. Room was clean, equipped with everything you need (including kettle, what we like very much) customer service was very good. Breakfast is excellent, is served downstairs in nice restaurant. Hotel was in very reasonable place for that standard and location concerning offerings in Stockholm.

Basicly nothing to complain about. Windows could be more soundproof - we had a room on 1st floor and easily could hear some noises from the street (especially in the morning when garbage was collected).

The location was perfect close to all ammenities and public transport, the facilities were to a high standard and well presented, the services food and beverage high quality, however the highlight was the amazing staff, Maria and all the staff, breakfast staff, waiters, chiefs, front of house were helpful, respectful, cheerful, supportive and loving. I highly recommend Mornington Hotel to all in New Zealand and around the world. We thank you for your beautiful hospitality and kindness xxx

There is nothing to fault

The hotel is closely located to the main attractions of the city. There is also a subway station (Östermalmstrong) 5 mins away from the hotel. The breakfast is Swedish buffet (of course :) ) and it contains a wide variety of choices to cover all the preferences: different types of bread, some pastry, vegetables, fruits, milk, yogurt, cereal, cold cuts, English breakfast, American breakfast. The hotel is very stilish and elegant. Every night there is live music in the lobby and you can sit there and enjoy a glass of wine while listening to the band playing. The rooms are small but stylish and have a warm atmosfere. You can also take a look at the books on the shelves, which are mostly in Swedish, but you can also find a few in English. The hotel also has sauna and a gym.

As we visited in March, the weather was pretty cold (0° - 1° C). The rooms have old style windows which are not very well isolated and we had to cover the bottom of the windows with a piece of cloth as we could feel the cold coming inside.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We spent a lot of time at the hotel. The restaurant provided a good selection of food, which was always hot and well presented. There is live music in the reception/bar area at weekends. The breakfast was excellent with a huge variety of food. The hotel is excellently located and within reasonable walking distance of most visitor attractions

Our only complaint was the room was a bit small and felt cramped. There wasn’t any room to store our clothes, so we had to live out of our suitcases. We chose a Queen size, Cherry.

The room had a very cosy aesthetic and was overall quite nice. I was also lucky enough that my room came with a personal balcony although I didn't get to take advantage of it due to the below zero temperatures. Breakfast was included and had a good range of foods available. The restaurant had a small but decent selection.

The bed was a bit springy and very lightweight (it would move if you propped yourself up against the pillows). The air con was also not working properly in my room so it was very cold, fortunately when I asked at reception they provided a small portable heater.

The location of the hotel is great, in one of the nicest neighborhoods of Stockholm, within walking distance to central. The breakfast was amazing, with so many options - I was super happy with it. The gym was spacious, but quite messy too. I liked the hotel itself, but unfortunately not the room I was staying in...

Our room (the Oak category) was located on the top floor, which meant that the ceiling was very low and this made the room feel even more tight than it was (it was a very small room...). There was no closet in the room at all, I have no idea where we would put our things if we'd have stayed for longer than one night. The bathroom/wc door was made of glass which meant that if one was lying in bed they could see straight at the toilet.....super strange lack of privacy :( The bed wasn't too comfortable, it had a high mattress so soft that the whole bed was shaking if one of us was switching sides in the middle of the night for example. The gym was messy, different equipment was left all over the place with also random stuff everywhere like bottles, sweaters etc.
