Chaiin Hotel - Dongmen

The reception was really nice. She upgraded our room to a higher category which was really kind of her. The breakfast staff was also very kind and helpful. They tried to provide us with vegetarian options since they do not provide halal menu. They explained to us patiently about the food ingredients, so we felt very welcomed. The hotel is within walking distance to Taipei Grand Mosque. There is a halal restaurant next to the mosque although it wasn't fancy. It was rather basic, serving mainly Indonesian dishes. If you are in Taipei and you are visiting the Taipei 101, you may like to know they provide a 'muslim praying room' on the 5th floor. The place is clearly marked, and you can speak to the security to guide you. However, the praying room does not have an ablution area, but you can do so in another facility provided.

Great location as it’s right above the MRT Dongmen Station. The staff was friendly and provided excellent services throughout my stay. Breakfast quality and selections were also excellent. All around it was one of my best hotel experience in Taipei.

Poor soundproofing. Can hear neighboring units. Elevator wait time can be long since there’s only one in the building. Wish the room is bigger or at least have a space for luggage (also lacking a luggage rack in the room).

The location was great. It was very easy to get to the MRT, as literally less than 1 min walking distance to the MRT. It was also walking distance to the night market. The room was clean and quiet. It is not a big room, but has all the necessities. It was a great value. Will stay again and as well as recommend to others

The location is excellent. It is next to Dongmen metro station where you easily can go to other places. A lot of places to eat nearby. The room is basic but has everything you need. The service was also good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Shout out to the nice breakfast staff (Claire, Winnie, and Vicky) who were every morning enthousiastic to help you. :)

Very helpful staff trying at all times to accomoddate to our request. Location is great - right at the entrance to MRT. Very nice lobby which also can be used as a co-working are. Abundant breakfast with variety of foods.

It would be nice to have availability of laundry service. Also I would suggest to introduce diary products for breakfasts (yoghurts, milk, cheese etc) - but these are just minor points.

It was conveniently located, with close proximity to Dongmen metro station and Yongkang street.

Housekeeping could only be provided upon request due to covid so the room accumulated a fair bit of trash. In addition, toilet paper cannot be flush down the toilet so it only be thrown in the trashbin… The twin room that was allocated to us had 2 twin beds put together sharing one comforter which was kind of strange.

Hotel is just above Dongman MRT Station. Very convenient. At the back of the Hotel is Dongman Market. Great finds and good food as well. Room is very clean and complete with Toiletries Hotel staff Jackie, helped me booked a Trip outside Taipei at the last minute. He was very hepful and understood the needs of the customer

Not all staff are able to speak English so there was difficulty in communicating.

Hotel is at exit 9 of Dongmen station. You come out of the exit and the hotel is right above the exit. The breakfast was great. A lot of vegetarian options. The salad bar items was very fresh. The breakfast team of Grace, Winnie and Claire were amazing. Grace went out of her to be helpful.

The lighting in the room was very dim

Bed very comfortable and large, quite modern and well maintained room. Staff so kind and helpful and the dining area available during the day to relax and eat outside food. Location is perfect

Only one elevator so could be annoying when crowded. Room a bit small for the value and sound proofing could be better

Location is great, a lot of food within walking distance; post office and MRT station is just right downstairs.

There is only one elevator so it takes time to wait for it to arrive at your level. The pillow in the room is a bit flat but I think it's just individual case as my partner's pillow seems quite firm.
