The staff was very pleasant and friendly. All our (many) questions have been carefuly answered. The towels and garbage were replaced almost every day. One morning they served us Turkish coffee for free, refusing to charge. The food in their restaurant was honestly the one of the best which we have tried through our 8 day long stay in Istanbul. Also the view from our balcony was awesome, you should check the terrace on 4th floor which is amazing. The location is perfect because the train station is near (approx 2 min walking) so you can easily transfer to any other location from there, very important monuments such as Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace Museum etc., are very close to hotel. We would definitely get back here.

Water in bathroom was not warm all the time.

The location could not have been better. The hotel is situated neatly between the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque, situating you near everything in Sultankhamet. For the money - nothing could have beat Ares Hotel. The breakfast was a simple yet delicious plate of meats, cheeses and bread served alongside your choice of coffee or tea.

The facilities in the room could have been a little bit better. The shower head in my room had been broken off of its handle before we checked in which made showering less enjoyable. Because of the excellent location, you will be woken up by the early morning calls to prayer.

We were in this hotel 10 days, the hotel is very clean, the staff is so kind, helpful! And what is important the main sights are close to the hotel( 10 minutes)!

Location: central of Old Istanbul. Walking distance tu Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Museum and few other attractions. The room was quite small. Cleaniness can be improve also. But the staff was very nice and accomodating.

The room is quite small. It was a bit difficult to find the hotel because it located in the alley and no taxi can enter the area.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, I stayed with my mother and my elderly father, and the staff would help us with his wheelchair every time we left and came back to the hotel. Our room was a bit small, but that’s to be expected for a hotel in this location, nonetheless the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel is literally a two-minute-walk from all the attractions in that area, the Aya-Sofia Mosque, the Blue Mosque, and the Basilica Cistern, in addition it is also two minutes away from Sultanahmet tram station. The dine-in is tasty, we tried the chicken steaks and I would say they were the best we had in Istanbul, so I would highly recommend the restaurant of the hotel. House keeping was excellent as well.

By staying at Ares Hotel, you are literally in the middle of all the main attractions of the city, right in front of Aya Sofia. During the day it is a perfect starting point to visit the city and night time you can dine in one of the thousands restaurants nearby. This cozy hotel has suffered from covid lockdown and must be helped! The staff is very nice and helpful like all turks (we have a lot to learn from them!). But of all I was struck by a man in his fifties, burly and handsome, like most of Turks, he sat at the reception supervising guests’ entering at night, while watching TV in the dark, every night and sometimes in the morning, greeting with such a sincere smile and a gorgeous face. I don't know what’s his name, but I dedicate this review to him, to his being so wonderfully kind, beautiful and Turkish!

Perfect location, only a few minutes walk from the main sights. Great host, kind and helpful personnel. Clean room with nice view. Above expectations for this price.

Very simple breakfast included - bread, butter, jam, egg, a few slices of sausage and cheese, vegetables, a piece of cake, tea / coffee. Everything is good and tasty, but it would be nice to have some options like omelet / scrambled egg. Very small rooms for 3 persons, but you should just know about that, again, great value for this price I think.

Location is the best!!!! only like 3-4 mins walking distance from Hagia Sofia and Sultan Ahmet….It’s also on the doorstep of the tram line. Very easy to get to Eminonu and take ferry. The staff are lovely and honest. The rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast is included and served on ground floor. Breakfast includes bread, 2 types of cheeses, black olives, tomato Sliced, cucumber slices, boiled egg, salami slices and slice of chocolate cake also with Hot drink. it was not too busy when we went so it was good. staff are good at addressing any specific needs you have. Hassan was very good and got me a travel card for public transport upon request. Great and ample restaurants all around Hotel.

if you are expecting a lobby and grand entrance then this is definitely not that type of place. It is a fantastic place just to rest up and go off for more sightseeing. There is nothing else to do in the hotel. You have to be careful with the stairs as the top step is overly steep and the lowest step is very shallow. Bathroom is a bit cramped. There is no tea or Coffee facility in the room at the moment. Smoke smell will enter room if window is open but then this is common anywhere in this location as too many smokers downstairs along cafes.

Location & service were brilliant. A few minutes walk to the Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia was perfect. The tram line was just a few a minutes away. The staff were exceptionally good in their attitude & helping out with our queries. A simple tip from Ally, about using the tramline as a guide made it very easy to get our bearings very quickly & return to the hotel from different places we visited. The hotel rooms we had were warm; endless hot water for the shower. We used the restaurant a few times. Food was varied & was hot. A good overall experience. I would be happy to return here 1 day

Shower / bath needed refurbishment. Of 1 of the 2 rooms we had, the shower was creating a puddle on the floor Outside music. although not the hotel's responsibility, was a bit annoying. Other places we have stayed have a 10pm curfew for loud music.

The hotel is exceptionnaly located, at a walking distance from all key touristic spots. The staff was so nice and helpful, they arranged for cabs. The bed was comfortable.

Unfortunately the shower was leaking and broken (the staff kindly came a few times to try to fix it), the AC was not connected to the remote so we couldn't adjust the temperature which was too cold.
