Bankerhan Hotel Galata - Adults Only Special Category0

Bankerhan is in an excellent location, just a short walk to the Galata tower and the restaurants and nightlife of Istiklal Street. It's also close to the trams and ferries that take you to Istanbul's main sights like the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and the Asian side. It's a perfect place to explore Istanbul for first time travellers. The staff were also great, they warned us of a road closure on the day we departed and helped us organise transport to the airport. They couldn't be more welcoming and helpful... we'll definitely be booking the Bankerhan for our next visit to Istanbul!

This hotel is a real hidden gem and by far one of the best hotels I have stayed in. When we arrived we were given a free room upgrade to room with a an exceptional view. You can see Hague Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and across the Bosporus to the Asian side too! I would go back just to see the view alone. You may need to ask for a room with this view as from what I can tell only levels 4 and up will have this and need to be on the right side of hotel, lower rooms may not but are priced accordingly. Staff are exceptional especially Zaynep who helped as with recommendations for food as well as organizing our transfer to the airport. We spend 2 nights here and then went else where in Turkey, however, had another night in Istanbul on the way back. Was planning to try a different hotel but after speaking with Zaynep she organized a room for us in the hotel which was even better than the first room! Location is great and with walking distance to most of the sites to see in Istanbul, if walking isn't your thing the tram is close enough. The rooms are clean and modern but are on the smaller side. For a couple they are good but I wouldn't recommend for more than that.

Everything was great!

Everything was very good: the location is great with a lot of cultural and shopping places nearby, the breakfast was rich and the room was very comfortable, clean, and with a pleasant view. The staff is really helpful and kind: they suggested places to visit according to my specific interests, furthermore, as by chance I had lost my passport just out of the hotel, they have been so kind to bring it to me at the airport!! Next time I pass by Istanbul I will definitely stay again at Bankerhan hotel.

This was a great stay! The staff were very helpful, gave us a free upgrade to a fabulous rooftop room with the view of the Bosphorus. The location of the hotel is in a great location with many museums and landmarks in walking distance + close to every form of public transport in Istanbul. The decor of the room was very tasteful with several art pieces. The hotel and the room were really clean and had any thing you’d need for a long or short stay. The hotel is filled with art pieces and has a very pleasant atmosphere. Thanks to the manager Ms. Zeynep specifically for making this a great stay!

The breakfast wasn’t any special, the location of the hotel allows access to many great restaurants to have breakfast so this wasn’t a big problem.

Excellent location, with the Galata Tower and surrounding cafes/restaurants/shops within a 10 minute walk. Also close to the Galata bridge and the Karakoy ferry terminal. Breakfast was delicious, with many options. The staff were very kind. They even let us stay in our room past their check out time of 12:00.

very good location for exploring Istanbul. in the heart of the city close to Galata Bridge but very quiet too as down a small side street. reception staff all friendly and helpful. breakfast was totally adequate and good value as included in reasonable room rates. room was a very good size. all modern but really tasteful decor. Wi-Fi easy to log into.

AC didn’t cool the room.

The hotel staff and really friendly and helpful. GREAT location. The bed was very comfortable. Cleanliness was excellent.

Specifically for the Japanese style double room: there is nowhere to sit other than the bed, which is very low to the ground and could be difficult for older ppl/those with limited mobility. Even as young, active people we found it a bit tiring getting up/down... It would be great if the hotel provided basic slippers for guests as in the winter the floors are quite cold.

Breakfast was very good and the location, despite being hard to drive, is excellent to walk. I's very quiet and remember that Istanbul is a very busy city and the room is very comfortable. There's nearby stops for public transportation.

Everything was amazing. The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to both the promenade and the Galata tower. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. No noise was heard during the 7 days of stay. I would like to say a special thank you to the hotel staff, wonderful, kind, helpful people. we will definitely be back, thank you!

I stayed here with a significant last-minute discount, which brought the room rate to a range I would call reasonable for what you get. The regular sticker price for this hotel was astronomical.
