Friendly and helpful staff. Nice location. Good value for money.

We had to ask for towels twice during the stay (dirty ones were removed as usual but not replaced with new ones). An accommodation only option would have been more suitable as breakfast was not that great.

The staff is amazing. The guys are awesome and extremely helpful with all questions that we had during our journey in Istanbul. They also gave some advice about what to see, the best places to visit and so on. The breakfast was good, I would rate it 4/5 just because the menu was the same, but it was the buffet so you can choose anything you want and can choose your own menu each day. But yeah, all dishes are the same for each day. The location is great, you have everything you need near the hotel (shops, pharma, sightseeing, restaurants, and so on).

We ordered a room with a double bed, but we got two connected single beds into one, which wasn't perfect. I understand the reason for this, but it could be great if we had just a double bed. Also, the mattress was hard, which was almost fine, but at the end of the journey, our back started to hurt. It could be great if the mattress was at least medium hard, it would suit all types of people. It's not a minus or something, but be ready that there is a minaret just the opposite the hotel.

Staff at front desk, either day or night, were super helpful with directions, calling taxi, making suggestions etc. The facitlities are pretty good, but the staff made it excellent.

It is tucked away a block off the normal path so at first it seemed odd to be around the corner. But, as it turns out, this is really a plus. It actually had the feel of a small neighborhood and that was nice because it is literally a couple blocks (about 5-7 min walk) from three major "must see" tourist sites and all the crazy congested busyness of the area. So, don't be fooled by the block or two away from much more polished streets.

Hotel Tashkonak was a great place in the heart of Sultanahmet. Super friendly staff, a cozy room, a decent breakfast, and the perfect location near the best sights and great restaurants. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was delicious, but it was crowded and sometimes difficult for the staff to keep up with dishes and food.

Well, It was really a fantastic experience. Tashkonak Hotel is a very nice Hotel to stay in during your visit to Istanbul. The staff are super nice. Mr Hakan was very friendly and helpful, and due to the time difference we had mistaken the date of our first night at the hotel and when we recognized that we reached out to Mr Coskun who has adjusted the reservation for us very smoothly. We also appreciate the night front desk receptionist and Rajab who helped us a lot. We might forgot some names but all the staff there are super nice. They have a supermarket close to the hotel and the people selling there are fantastically friendly. We recommend Tashkonak for everyone who wants to visit Istanbul.

Perfect location for access to The Blue Mosque and many other tourist attractions. Tram station at Sultan Ahmet close allowing easy access to other parts of the city and a very cheap way to get around. Plenty of small restaurants in the area providing local dishes. Hotel staff extremely helpful arranging a cruise, booking tickets to see the Dervishers and providing advice on the best and cheapest ways to get around the city.

No complaints, I didn't book the Ritz so I wasn't expecting anything more than a family hotel. If I return to Istanbul in the future I would use it again.

Great boutique hotel in the perfect Old Town location between the Blue Mosque and the waterfront, very comfortable, fantastic staff, and excellent breakfast. They were able to arrange early check-in for us when we arrived (from a cruise) and even held our bags for us while we went to Cappadocia for a couple of days. They also recommended excellent local restaurants - local and tourist ones! There was no kettle in the room, but they made tea and coffee for us in the lounge. Very well priced for all that!

Having to go home...

Historical look, neat, cozy, and super clean. The location is less than 10 minutes walking distant from the tourist areas, such as Ayah Sofia, Blue Mosque, Sultanahmet Mosque, Topcapai Sarayi, and many many more. Also close to the tramway and bus stations. The Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian Souk are only 3 stops away using the tramway, or 25 minutes walking on a busy street with lots of shops, restaurants, and other businesses. The hotel offers free breakfast in a nice, all glass, room surrounded be trees and beautiful nature. The staff are extremely friendly, pleasant, and very helpful. I reside in the United States, and booking a hotel is always a challenge while not knowing what to expect. For the price per night, this hotel exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend this hotel to those who like to be in a walking distance from the attractions, and I would definitely book it again in the future.

For fairness, I have to mention that some of the rooms are little tiny, but comfortable. The terrain of the area where the hotel is located is hilly, ups and downs. It didn’t bother me at all and I loved it, but some people with reduced mobility or leg and knee pain might find it difficult to walk around.
