Love everything about this hotel! It is perfectly located, in quiet and historic part of Istanbul, but still very close to all the main attractions(just few minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia). The rooms are very clean and charming decorated, there is also a kettle to make coffee or tea. Good internet connection as well. The breakfast was tasteful with many choices. But the main character I would say of this hotel is its staff. They are extremely friendly, nice group of people who are always ready to help in any situation (pcr test, taxi, tours,...) and they make you feel like at home. I had an excellent experience and highly recommend this hotel. Many thanks to Nazli, Yassin, Younus, Elman. See you definitely again!

Self contained annex in property directly opposite main hotel with your own kitchen and living space and balcony. Has 3 singles and one large double so ideal for 5 of us. Had 2 air con units which was ideal to deal with Istanbul summer heat. Cleaning lady popped by every morning to change bedding, towels, rubbish etc. You come and go as you please with the main reception available 247 should you need anything. Plenty of food places dotted around the alleyways. Special shout out to Younis who welcomed us the first day, showed us our rooms and advised us of location and where to go and what to do etc as well as the lady in reception whose name evades me now but again she was fantastic. Also best to allow hotel to arrange airport transfers for you. They use an affiliated company but at least you know you will get a decent cab rock up and on time. You pay the hotel and not driver though feel free to tip driver if you so feel. Might be a tad more expensive (only just) but for peace of mind to avoid being scammed by the local cabbies best to bite the bullet.

Nothing, place and location was spot on for us.

I loved everything about the property: from the beautifully decorated hallways, to the magnificent room that we stayed in. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious enough for two people (especially considering that it is located in Istanbul). We also had it cleaned everyday, during our stay, and the lady responsible for tidying up our room even took her time to fold our clothes! I cannot even begin to express our admiration for the staff at Katelya, who were more than welcoming and helpful. On our third night of staying at the hotel, my father happened to lose his phone in a taxi. The receptionist was kind enough to help us find it: he made calls, he tracked our taxi driver, he even wanted to look on the security footage to figure out the license plate number! We eventually got our phone back, all thanks to him, considering that it would have been practically impossible to track our taxi driver in such a big city, without even knowing his name or the license plate number, in the first place! The breakfast also had a lot of various dishes included and some lovely Turkish tea! Believe me, you could not leave the hotel with an empty stomach after such a delicious breakfast. All in all, a great stay! Highly recommend! 😊

I loved everything!

The location of the apartment was awesome. Only a few mins walk away from all the main tourist attractions. There were plenty of restaurants 5 mins walk away n taxis were readily available. The apartment itself was a good size. We were a family of 5 and there was 2 rooms with beds for all. A kitchenette with utensils kettle and fridge. The apartment itself was very clean and spacious. The decor was a little dated like the doors were very old but the beds were comfortable. We had one extra large bed and 3 single sofa beds which the kids loved sleeping on. I left one star out as we had no breakfast in the price. We ate breakfast once at the hotel and it was very costly but it was very nice. We stayed in the building adjacent to katelya its all one but as we had the apartment we were across the road. It was no issue as anything we needed we called reception and they bought it over. The staff were very helpful didn't let us carry our bags up as there was no lift in this building and anything we enquired about they were happy to help. Overall defo recommend Katelya hotel. I will stay again

Just breakfast needs to be included in price. Its 9euros pp which is around £8 . it cost us £44 to have one breakfast ...... Should've ate more !

All the front desk people were great, very nice, friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was spotless and the breakfast items were very good, with lots of choices. (more than I've seen at any other hotel in my travels.) The room I chose was small, however I was offered an upgrade to a much bigger room, at the front of the property. I did not take this room as it was close to the streeet and I needed a quiet place to sleep, so although my room was smaller, it was my choice not to take the upgrade. I appreciate that I was offered this upgraded room and would have taken it if I was not so tired from a transatlantic flight, as the views from this room were good.

There was nothing I did not like.

The hotel is small, but it is lovely and very efficiently organized. It is located in an area very close to the main tourist attractions of Istanbul (5-10 min walk to Hagia Sofia). Parking is done directly on the street in front of the hotel, free of charge. The staff (especially at the reception) is very kind and helpful. A special note for Nazli, very beautiful girl and very professional!

The room we stayed in was a bit small, but enough for a stay in which we only slept in it. However, we had view on the Marmara Sea…

Good hotel: 1) Excellent location, around the hotel there is everything you need for good leisure and all the sights of the old city are within walking distance. 2) The staff is helpful, starting from the reception, kitchen and housekeeping. When it rained, they even offered us umbrellas, which was very nice and very helpful. 3) Breakfast is delicious, homemade, not very varied, but always fresh. 4) The hotel arranged a transfer from and to the airport for us, it was very convenient. If I ever fly to Istanbul again, I will definitely stay at this hotel.

The poor lighting in the room.

I spent 4 nights, in this hotel with very good location especially for tourism or architectural fans. It has few minutes walking some of the most important historical and touristic places to visit, so you don’t need to take any taxi or public transport surround. Although it was a high density area with people it was a calm atmosphere inside hotel. Room was spacious, with many windows for lightening mostly at morning, and for sure quiet. Staff was kind and super helpful (Farahat and Yassin). They suggested some touristic trips or activities. I enjoyed turkish hamam and a Bosphorus boat trip at evening. I totally recommend Katelya hotel. You feel confortable with place and people you meet.

First of all, the staff and the hotel are in a great location. It is a very cute hotel located in the historical peninsula of Istanbul. It is very close to touristic structures such as Sultanahmet, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace, within a 4-minute walk. This is a great location. The hotel is in a cute hotel and the hotel structure is very high quality. The breakfast is very good and rich. 5 stars rooms are great. All the staff are very friendly and cordial. Thank you also to Mr. Yasin. Thank you to the gentleman with the black glasses. I would also like to thank the beautiful smiling blonde haired colored eyed lady at the reception in the morning. a great stay

Initially we received a room in their 2nd building, at the 2nd floor. No elevator, a bit difficult to cary the luggage. Airco got broken in the evening. Their staff very helpful offered a ventilator over the night, but was extremely hot and hard to sleep. Next day they were very helpful and offered other 2 rooms in the main building.
