Artefes Hotel Old City

Really nice staff, Sellman and Erdal were both extremely helpful in navigating additional trip planning outside of Istanbul and to and from the airport etc. Can see the water well and a great balcony.

Jacuzzi tub was broken and that was something I got the room for and there was no attempt to fix it while I was there.

Great location!!

For "old farts" like me, I was not told on the area being on a hill. While the great sites were nearby, the walking uphill or stairs were cumbersome but manageable.

Great location and all the tourist attractions were walking distance. Excellent breakfast and great view of sea from roof top bar.

The rooms are but small only good for couple that too for short stay.

This boutique hotel is the best value for money. Located in a historic building just a few minutes away from Sultanahmet and Hagia Sophia, the hotel offers very nice and clean rooms and an excellent breakfast (both Turkish and European). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant has wide windows overlooking the street… we enjoyed having breakfast with the giant seagulls sitting just behind the window staring at us! The hotel has a terrace with a stunning look of the city and the bay. I stayed in many hotels during my numerous trips to Turkey, and I know that next time I will definitely stay in Artefes!

I cannot think of anything I did not like there.

The room was tidy,clean sheets & towels every day And room cleaned every day So coming out from a long trip it was comfortable ! Breakfast was good not so perfect Maybe some change is needed like replace the salami with turkey boiled salami & diet choices The stuff was welcoming & helping if you need something The hotel was clean in general Near by agia Sofia & the monuments & Bazar Many stores to choose around the area Also tram & metro is easy to access Will visit again in future

Some changes needed like the shower 🚿 hand to use and the Bigal for the toilet and maybe some detergent needed in the toilet for self cleaning it

I stayed 3 days in this hotel, honestly it was better than I expected, the staff was so professional easy to communicate and they try to arrange u as much as they can. Selman was always there to respond to our several questions. The hotel is near all the commodities you can do everything by walk to admire the city, The blue mosque is at 5 min walk, same for Hagia Sophia. We were two girls on a trip & the neighbourhood was safe even at night The breakfast was so delicious & a lot of choices, we enjoyed it at the beautiful terrace view The beds were so confortable, we went on November & we didn’t even feel the cold in the warm room. + they let us leave our bagages in the hotel to visit the city cause we had our flight late at night + we could have coffee at any time for free (things that clients appreciate) I genuinely recommend this hotel & I will def be back next time I visit Istanbul

Recommendation for the best accommodation in Istanbul, excellent location, a few minutes' walk from Hagia Sophia, Tokapi palace and the Blue Mosque, near to the bazaar, also a lot of good restaurant is near. Hotel has everything you need. Mr. Seliman and Mr. Tarik are very nice and kind, and they helped us a lot with the trip, you should definitely listen to their tips, excellent breakfast every morning on to rooftop with a view, new towels every day, everything clean…Wi-fi is very good, you can even buy a Turkish sim card for the internet, which is much cheaper here, than at the airport. We will definitely come back here because I really liked it! 😊

The hotel is near the centre of Istanbul and you can go everywhere by feet in 7-8 minutes (Hagia Sofia, Top Kapi, Grand Bazaar etc). Everything in the hotel is squeaky clean, although is an old building. The receptionists and everyone working there is super kind, helpful and willing to inform you about the city.

The only thing that bothered us was the loud music from the bar down the street (Marbella). If you choose a room with a view to the street, you might also have to listen to this loud music until late in the night!

The terrace! Amazing view . Nice breakfast with sea view. Good balance in relation of price-quality. Great location, close by all the turistic things, so for the first time in Istanbul is perfect! The staff was very friendly, specially at night and the kid helping with the suitcases was also super kind and smily 😊

The glass of the terrace was dirty, so it was a bit annoying when you had a super nice seaview . The Reception area could be better. The second room was nice and same as the pictures, but the first one we stay it was a bit dated.. also, it was quite nosy because of the bar some meters away.

I'm sorry for the delay in posting this review. Usually, I wait a day or two just to make sure I have a more natural opinion (hype-free). I am happy to say that our enjoyment of our stay and our experience is just as great as we felt it on our way back home. Location: 3-5 min walking distance from the Blue Mosque, 10-15 min away from the Sirkeci train station. Great location, close to a lot of great restaurants. Very quiet also. When (not if) we will return to Istanbul, Artefes will be our place of choice for sure. Breaksfats: delicisou and varied, with a lot of great sweets. Great coffe, hot chocolate, everything we could wish. Room: very clean, beautifully designed, very comfortable bed, perfectly working AC, very clean and well maintained bathroom; basically everything we could wish for. Staff: amazing! Extremely helpful, friendly, spoke perfect English. We'd like to take this opportunity to offer our deepest gratitude to Mr. Tarik, Mr. Selman, and Mr. Erdal! (I sincerely apologize if I miswrote the names) We interacted with them the most. I'm sure every other member of the staff would have been equally professional and friendly.

Honestly, there's not a single thing that stuck in our mind as bad or even slightly unpleasant. Let's say, I would have liked for the bathroom door or wall to have one or two of those hook thingies to hang clothes. I know, a very nitpicky and ridiculous thing :)) But at least I can't be accused of being a super fanboy, lol
