The cleanliness, hospitality and general service of the hotel were what I would consider peak! The staff never fails to strike up a small conversation to aid you with your stay or to give you better service. Also the friendliness on both arrival and departure, to cover empty-time during these procedures, was warm and welcoming. Mr Mohammed in particular handled the stay with professionalism and great English. I was even upgraded into a much better top floor sea-view room, which features stunning sunsets! The safety of the location is not a concern, it is just a typical close-to-bay area of a big city, with your expected cargo companies populating the street as well as numerous hotels, as the area is somewhat touristic due to the proximity to the city centre. While one has to pay attention to their surroundings and not provoke attention, it definitely felt safe because of the presence of both local and foreign people, even very late at night. There are numerous options for both local and "western chain" cuisine at reasonable prices. Overall the stay is budget friendly and of extremely high quality. Don't forget to get your Istanbul card from the Yenikapi metro station automated vendors, public transport is excellent!

The streets around the area are challenging to walk, because of extreme changes in elevation as well as smaller, older sidewalks. Couple that with the hectic traffic of smaller Istanbul streets as well as the amount of people walking slowly and into you at peak time and it puts a strain on your legs and nerves. This is a comment on the area rather than the property though and it would apply to any hotel in the area.

This hotel is a definitely go to again, once back to istanbul! The Facilities are great, rooms are new, tidy &clean, toilet hygiene is well maintained. The owners of the hotel themselves show up regularly to make sure that all the guests are satisfied with their stay! When it comes to the Staff, they are the cherry on top ! They are extremely friendly and helpful, they are always there to offer help, suggesting best routes, guiding you to the best activities in the city. Once there you must ask about Mohamed Aslam, he is the most helpful and friendly host that will help you with whatever you need ! Mansour Too is very helpful ! Definitely Recommended !!

The hotel was super clean, the location is safe and close to historical sites and Bazaars. The entire staff was great, they did everything to meet our needs and make our stay comfortable. In short, everything was 10/10, would highly recommend. Special thanks to Mr Mohammed and Mr Mensour for being so caring and ready to help all the time.

The only bad thing is that I couldn’t stay longer. But I will definitely come back! :)

The room was very clean with new renovation. The cleaning was done every day (with towels and linen change). Beds are very comfortable. The AC works good. There are toiletries in the bathroom. Wi-Fi works fine. There are fridge (empty, not a mini bar) and a kettle, a bottle of water and a couple of tea and coffee sachets. The staff is very friendly, caring and helpful.

Although the hotel is 15 minutes walk from a metro station and 20-25 minutes walk from Sultanahmet, the streets around don't seem to be safe. I missed some door sign like "Don't disturb" and also some other information papers, like how to call the reception or maybe some tips about the city and particular district.

The staff at Okda went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. To begin with, I called them on arrival at my bus stop as I couldn't get a taxi to their location. Oktay's father hopped on a taxi and came to get me immediately. They answered any questions with kindness and even took us back to the bus stop to the Istanbul airport at the end of our stay. Absolutely amazing customer service from Oktay and family. Our room had a view of the sea from our window, and though the location is close to many shops and busy streets, it was surprisingly quiet at night. The beds were comfortable and the room was spotless. There was a plate of complimentary fruit when we arrived. I absolutely recommend Okda Hotel for a genuine Istanbul experience.

It would have been nice to have a restaurant on site. We had complimentary tea on the hotel's terrace on arrival, but it would have been nice to be able to have snacks at other times.

An amazing hotel in the historical part of Istanbul. Fresh renovation, cleanliness, elevator, everything necessary in the room. A cozy backyard where you can spend time in the evening. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are many shops and cafes around, transport is also within walking distance, it is easy to get to any part of the city. Many people mention that the district is not so good. Yes, it is quite unusual and extraordinary from the first sight, but we were two girls, went there at any time, had no problems and felt safe. That’s why seeing and experiencing real city life was a plus rather than a problem for us. But the most important thing in this place is the people! The owners and staff, without exception, were the most welcoming, courteous and helpful. And became a family for us for these few days 😌 Oktay and his family endlessly explained everything to us, helped with navigation around the city, suggested new places to visit (special thanks to Yasin for his recommendations!) and never refused any help. Muhammad prepared the best tea in the world, cared a lot and made our stay as comfortable as possible. Mansour delighted us with his positivity and a new portion of jokes every evening. You guys do your job 100000% and thank you all for that! We will definitely come back again and will recommend this place to others. You are the best! 🫶

On a scale from 1 to 10, this hotel deserves 1000 points. Everything was perfect, the hotel room is clean, the hotel staff is wonderful and the location of this hotel is very close to the city center. Mohamed helped us with everything we needed, he is part of the hotel staff and he is very kind man. There is a free parking space at this hotel, but they also have a paid parking lot, which is supervised. With other words, this hotel is excellent, very clean, located close to all points of interest and all the hotel staff will help you with anything you need. We will definitely come back to this hotel.

I returned to this hotel for the second time, and the first positive impression only intensified. As always, everything was at the highest level. The rooms are clean and large enough, newly renovated. There are many restaurants and small shops around. The metro and tram stations are within walking distance, as well as all historical places. Thanks to Oktay, his family and team for maintaining in the hotel the philosophy of caring for the customers and helping in any matter. This is worth a lot in our time. I would also like to highlight the work of the hotel manager Mr Muhammad Aslam, he showed his high professionalism and was very friendly, polite and an attentive to all clients, promptly solving all the issues. And also thanks to Mansour who always lifted the mood and created a friendly atmosphere around. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay, so I highly recommend this hotel.

Everything was clean and nice! The service is outstanding! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The rooms where perfect for our stay as we went out most of the time! The AC kept us cool for the hot temperatures. The Metro and the Grand Bazar can be reached quickly which is a huge plus point!

The area is a bit different then others. Seems to be more of a „locals“ area. Still, the hotel is the best for its kind and in this area!

The staff was lovely and helpful! Everything was clean and as brand new. Bed was very comfortable! Location near restaurants and touristy sights. They saved us a parking spot as promised.

There is a market down the street on Thursday that made it difficult to reach the hotel. With advance planning would be fine so it is a good idea to inform guests that arrive that day in advance.
