Everything, the staff was very kind and helpfull, rooms spacious and clean! All was perfect

Breakfast was fresh daily. A good variety and the fruit was delicious. Very friendly staff and accommodating. Housekeepers were great and very professional, they did a great job daily cleaning our room. It was meticulously done. We really appreciate the front desk staff especially Mohamed. He went out of his way to help us daily. Everything was perfect about this place. I stayed with my family of 5. Great location and very safe area. My teenage kids were very comfortable walking around till very late. I can tell you , we enjoyed this trip very much due to the hotel vicinity and great service.

I have nothing but words of praise. The staff, led by Erman Bey, is very pleasant, discreet and very helpful. The place is located absolutely superb, in the vicinity you have a multitude of cafes, restaurants of all kinds, from the simplest, the kind of neighborhood restaurant, to the sophisticated, good-looking ones, with live music and animated until late at night. It's about a 20 minute walk from the hotel to the Grand Bazaar, if you're slow like me. You have the T1 tram up the hill that takes you to all the tourist attractions and the Metro and Train also within a 15-20 minute walk. The breakfast is not extremely varied, but everything is certainly tasty, cleanly prepared and with great care. I would have liked a larger variety of fruit, but it didn't affect my appetite at all. All in all, I enjoyed it so much that I promise to come back!

The hotel was good, the staff was great with the exception of the girl that was supposed to clean the room. She never cleaned the room, she would just tidy up and change the towels. She never cleaned the bathroom, not once. I know. The location was reasonable, though if you're not used to walking, and going up on steep hills, you're in for a workout. The breakfast was the same everyday but, if you ask the girl at the kitchen she can make you a delicious omelet for 50 tl, the equivalent of two U.S dollars. I would definitely stay here again only if they train the cleaning girl on how to do it properly. I'm a very clean person, and take their job into much consideration and respect. But, I do expect them to make an effort. I didn't leave her a tip because of her failure to do her job. ( yes, a tip is expected)

Very clean room and looked exactly like advertised. The owner of the family run hotel was so helpful and kind to us after we came back after an operation in Turkey. Nothing seemed a problem for him and his staff. Great buffet breakfast in a lovely dining room with lots of choice. About a 6 minutes walk to the tram stop and about 50 metres to an array of bustling local restaurants - so many to choose from. It was perfect and reasonable cost.

Everything was perfect. Area around hotel apart from the restaurant area I mentioned, was quite run down. This is the old town and clearly not enough money for building renovations. Not a dislike - it’s part of the real Istanbul seeing the good and not so well off areas.

Well located if you want to be near by Grand bazar, Sultanahemt is 2 stations away from metro, but nearest metro station is a steep 8-9 mins walk. Hotel staff was very helpful, helped us book hamam, cab , find our way to locations. We were group of three girls, felt very safe in the location as we returned late in the night as well, the restaurants at fountain sqaure are open till late so remains a busy area. We were late for breakfast one morning, still they welcomed us to have breakfast.. very nice staff.

Nothing. But can have few more options for vegetarians in breakfast. Room was abovw the street so could hear people talking on street but we were so tired so could sleep anyways :D

I must say that everything in this hotel exceeded our expectations during the week we stayed there. The Grand Bazaar is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and the area is very busy and hospitable yet not being noisy. In fact, we believed that this atmosphere was the nicest in the neighborhood. The hotel rooms (we requested more than one) are spotless, incredibly roomy, pleasant, have cozy beds, and have clean, modern bathrooms. Also I am not exaggerating when I say that the staff is wonderfully welcoming and helpful! Breakfast was delicious, and they had a broad variety of foods (many of which were Turkish). We will undoubtedly return to this fantastic hotel on our future trip to Istanbul!

The hotel had a good breakfast. The hotel staff was really polite. The hotel staff was answering quickly on the Booking. There is an elevator in the hotel. We were able to leave our baggage at the hotel after check-out to have time for a walk before our flight. There is a lively area near the hotel: there is a square with restaurants, pharmacies and grocery stores. The hotel staff cleaned our room every day. There were disposable slippers and bath accessories in the room (soap, shampoo, cotton pads, and cotton swabs). The location of the hotel is rather convenient. Sometimes you will encounter steep stairs and roads when you walk. If you go to the hotel with baggage, you should choose a way to the hotel from «Beyazıt-Kapalıçarşı» station. There is a road with asphalt. And you will descend on your way.

The light switches are uncomfortable and located at the bedhead. You may suddenly turn on the light at night. There was insufficient sound insulation in the room. There was a non-removable shower head in the bathroom. The shower cabin was leaking in some places. There were not enough hooks for clothes and bad lighting in the bathroom. The bathroom was poorly cleaned. There was not enough storage space for three people. If you have a plan to work in the room, you'd better think of somewhere else to work because of the bad Wi-Fi signal.

The owner has clearly invested in the property with cleanliness, friendly and competent staff, excellent location, quiet for the city centre, decent breakfast, and excellent value for money. My 5-day stay exceeded my expectations for the hotel. All the major sides are within walking distance (20 - 30 minutes). The area around the hotel is vibrant, with many restaurant options. If I return to Istanbul, I will stay at the Ahmet Efendi Konağı again.

The hotel is neat and clean. Our room was compact, but perfectly fine for two. The breakfast food was always fresh with good variety and good filter coffee. The hotel is in a brilliant location. It's a four minute jog to the sea front to stretch your legs and get some fresh air in the morning before the chaos of old Istanbul. There are loads of great restaurants 50metres from the front door for your evening meal and all of the sights of Istanbul are within walking distance (or you can use the trams).

I'm not wild about Istanbul's traffic, but that's not the fault of the hotel and that's why once you've checked in you're in such a great location.
