Adem the owner was very welcoming and he was very helpful. The hotel was very clean and the room we had was really nice and the beds were very comfortable. The location was brilliant, the train station, trams were all close by. The blue mosque and hagia sophia are a straight walk from the hotel. There are alot of food places around the hotel and they are very good value for money. Sea is a short walk and it is very lovely in the evenings. The breakfast had a lot of variety and was delicious. The lady who served us coffee and tea in the morning was lovely. There is so much to explore around the surrounding areas, Istanbul is very beautiful and the people were lovely. We had a great stay at the hotel and we can't wait to return very soon again. The location of the hotel is very good.

Its my second time I stayed in Ramparts hotel. First and foremost our host Adem is wonderful host and man who will make your stay memorable from giving you informations you need, providing things you ask, givining you transportation card to use, arranging you taxi transportaton, or just casualy taking about things your intrested learning about lovely Istanbul and Turkish people. Room was confy, big enough for 3 of us, with really comfortable mattreses and big bathroom with great shower with welcome gifts in the fridge waiting for you. Location of hotel is what I also like very much. Near main historic attractions and in the neighborhood that is full of shops, groceries, places to buy food, safe, and with real feel of local life in this huge city. Also great breakfast with variety of options.

Hairdryer in bathroom has served his thing and its time for new one that is easier to use. And just suggestion to put some net on few windows because of mosquitoes.

The location is very clean. Owner spoke our language and was very helpful. It's fairly close to the main attractions. You do have to climb a steep hill to get to the main street, but I knew this in advance. Breakfast is decent and clean, not a huge variety but enough. The lady serving the breakfast was very nice to us. I can say yet again it's very clean, this is the main thing we enjoyed.

Unfortunately walls are very thin and you can hear everything. If you have noisy neighbors, or people that just open and close to their doors, then you will definitely be awaken. Again related to the thin walls, there was an air conditioner below our window and it was extremely loud all night long. The bed is quite small - 140cm wide.

I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the people running the hotel, which has been extraordinary, in particular Adem's, the manager. Throughout the journey, he made sure that every request I had was sorted out and helped with recommendations for the city. The hotel is clean and provides everything you would want on your trip. A simple yet varied breakfast, a quiet authentic Turkish closed street and a comfortable room. The staff try their utmost to keep the place a quiet and family-friendly place, which makes a huge difference.

The area is very much a typical busy Istanbul street - where you can find an open market, street vendors, shops and the like, all intermingled in one big melting pot. While the side street the hotel is on is very quiet, you might found some of the surroundings a bit of a sensory overload. If you're not looking for something authentic, this might not be the place for you.

I would definitely stay again in the same hotel next time, mainly because of Mr. Adam. In such a country where they love their own language in a way they hardly speak any other languages, you really need a supportive and understanding friend like Mr. Adam. Mr. Adam will make you feel at home. He will make better reservations for you without any commission. He even paid $ 3 (out of 43$) from his own pocket for me when I had no change. The room itself is clean, quite (although my rooms were on the 1st floor), it has good AC, and hot/cold water in the oderless bathroom. The location is good if you want to stay within walking distance from all the historic parts of the city. You will be close to public transportation as well. You just have to consider that you might have to walk a little bit. The hotel was a great value for money.

Don't expect a fancy hotel with a swimming pool. It is just a comfortable, safe, and clean place to sleep in and have your breakfast in the morning, which, by the way, could be more versatile. However, I had no complaint about it myself.

Breakfast was very good, and the staff was very forthcoming. Since we had to get going fairly early to catch our tour guide appointments, we asked the owner if it was possible to eat earlier and he said as long as we warn him the day before it's no problem. The owner was very helpful in general, giving advice for exchanging money and the transport to the airport, etc. The rooms are clean and get cleaned every 3 days, the bathroom is very well equipped and the AC works, but the best thing hands down is that there's a mini fridge that we were able to use during our stay, just like that with no extra cost. It helped with the heat by keeping market-bought fruit and water cool and was definitely a lovely thing to have!

The only downside the hotel has isn't something that they themselves are "at fault for", which is the location around it. Since it's located at the bottom of a hill, meaning that to get to all the major tourist points you gotta walk that hill up and up and up. Even public transport is a ways off uphill to get to, so you have to be prepared for that. But that's a warning that can be applied to the whole of Istanbul basically.

This hotel is located in the historic Faith District. It is next to St. Mary Catholic Church. There are only narrow one lane streets, so taxis may have a hard time reaching it. But is only 5 min walk from the Tran and busses. I even walked all the way to Hagia Sophia, and it took me 15 to 20 minutes at a leisure pace. Alone the way I visited local bakeries, juice bars, and other street vendors. Because it is a residential neighborhood, the prices are almost half at the local vendor compare to the tourist locations. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms are well designed. The included breakfast is good, but the options may be lacking for some. The owner of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is also very quiet at night.

The only minus side is the inaccessibility to large vehicles and cars. But this is common to the entire Faith District. I actually walked faster than taxi rides on weekends. If you enjoy walking in foreign cities, then it is not a problem. The area is also very safe, even late at night.

The hotel offers a blend of comfort and convenience for travellers. With clean, stylish rooms featuring A/C, kettle, and complimentary tea and coffee, it provides a cozy retreat. It is situated in an authentic neighborhood of Istanbul, within walking distance of major attractions in a safe area. The friendly owner is ready to assist guests, from organizing transfers to providing helpful local tips. Since we were leaving early, on the last day we got packed breakfast on request, ensuring a great start to our day. They serve a diverse breakfast, catering to different tastes and preferences. Hotel Ramparts is clean and stylish, with all the essential amenities. Its prime location, safety, and dedicated owner make it an excellent choice for a memorable stay in Istanbul.

There wasn't anything we did not like. It's true that the surrounding buildings are a bit rundown but despite the area's modest appearance we always felt safe and had a comfortable stay.

Incredible hospitality and kindness, the generous breakfast, comfortable and spotless room. Loved the location. It's perfect on so many levels. Its within walking distance of most tourist attractions, while being authentic, and untouristic. The people in the stores and on the streets around were warm and friendly and helpful and the stores and restaurants are not the tourist traps you can find in other places.
