Hotel Villa Zurich

Great location - many cafes/restaurants around, the subway station is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel Beautiful view from the restaurant where breakfast is served (you will also get a nice view if you’re given a room on an upper floor). Breakfast is decent and delicious if you like Turkish breakfast (if you prefer a more European type of breakfast, you will miss toasts, pancakes, yogurt, porridge, cereals). Rooms are stylish, recently renovated and comfy. Staff is polite, helpful and easy to communicate with.

No hot water in the shower, particularly after 12pm. What you can expect most of the time is hardly lukewarm water, which makes it almost impossible to take a shower and not get cold. My wife had to wash her head in the sink because the water from the tap was a bit warmer than from the shower. There was no iron in the room, though the room facilities at Booking included an iron. It wasn’t a big problem because the reception delivered the iron after making a call but it was not convenient. No toilet brush. Windows are not properly sealed, so it may be cold in the winter. No central heating. The air conditioner has a heat mode but it quickly makes the room very stuffy.

Clean facilities, friendly staff, nice breakfast with a great view.

Room was on first floor, right above a nightclub that was playing music until 1am. It seems like people were allowed to smoke in their rooms which sometimes meant we could smell cigarettes in our room. You can also smoke in the rooftop restaurant at night which is unpleasant.

The hotel has recently been renovated with great taste, is modern and looks like new. The view from the terrace where the breakfast room is served is wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for those who like having bars and restaurants with a great atmosphere on their doorstep.

Breakfast has little choice and they don't have any juice available. Only coffee and tea are available on demand, any other drink has an extra cost, which is not understandable in this kind of boutique hotel. Just because the breakfast I don't give it a 10.

This is the best hotel we stayed in our entire trip. Clean, comfortable, good service, tasty breakfast, good view, and the bathroom is good.

Location: While it's located in a very trendy and nice neighborhood in Beyoglu, however it's a little difficult to get around as it's in the middle of the hill and the nearest public transport is some distance away. You either need to walk up the hill going back hotel or leaving the hotel.

I had the room with free upgrade. The room was big, comfortable and well designed, with many windows and 2 small balconies. The room was clean. There is a tea pot, coffee and tea bags, slippers and hygiene staff. It seems that the hotel was recently renovated. Also, the hotel has a beautiful terrace on the roof. Polite and nice staff. I can recommend this hotel.

No bottled water in the room. The breakfast leaves much to be desired: no hot dishes, juices, good meat products.

It is a very nice hotel, not a big one, quite cosy and newly decorated. Staff were amazing! Great location for foodies, the entire street around the property is full of restaurants and caffès.

I would suggest adding tips/service to the price of stay. I felt strange going for breakfast and having a tips jar there. I never take money when going for breakfast at the hotel.

Deluxe room itself was very nice – clean, two balconies, new furniture, good lightning. Hotel staff was polite and tried to make the impression better after we had two nights with loud music on the ground floor of the hotel (there is a restaurant / club inside of the hotel building itself, so beware). The location is magnificent, it is a center of Cihangir that has a lot of great restaurants and bars nearby.

Breakfasts are not worth it at all (something that you get in way cheaper hotels, some cheese / mezes / honey and eggs). There is a restaurant / club inside of the hotel building itself, so beware as this might cause problems. The actual street was not as noisy as it was expected, though. There was a funny smell on the ground floor, coming from -1 level. Bathroom was missing hooks and toilet brush. The ventilation fan in the bathroom did not work either.

Everything. Very friendly personnel

The hotel has been very tastefully refurbished from top to bottom. Beautiful views from the rooftop restaurant at breakfast time. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, the rooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are so comfortable. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. This hotel is in a fantastic location, real Bohemian neighbourhood with loads of little shops, bars, coffee shops and bistros. Well placed for getting about the city too, a short walk to Taksim Square or down to Galata Port and the metro. We chose this hotel based on previous reviews and are so glad we did. If we ever return to Istanbul this would be our first choice hotel to stay at.

Couldn’t fault anything

Both interior and exterior of the hotel are beautiful. I've got a cozy room with different lighting options for any mood, and a balcony. Staff was very nice and welcoming, my room was upgraded without my request during check in. Location is great, nice views from the restaurant on the top floor. Lots of fancy places around, and hotel is not far from the main pedestrian street. Plenty of cats as well :) And I want to highlight the sustainability initiatives in the hotel. All in all it's a great place to stay.

It's a city center so there's a lot of noise from the outside, even with the closed windows. Breakfast is very simple.
