The Bird, Bath

Excellent location. Close enough to walk to town centre, but far enough out to be quiet. Staff lovely and so was the food! Very comfy bed and gorgeous pillows! Dyson hairdryer too, thoroughly spoilt! Interior decor was bright and quirky, which always gets my vote! Real reindeer moss growing in a frame on the wall of the bar! Totally bonkers and I defy anyone not to have a sneaky stroke!

The bedroom and ensuite were cosy and well equipped but a little less spacious than I was expecting. No where to put stuff out of the way to avoid tripping over whilst finding your way to the loo in the night without disturbing other half by turning light on!

Just one little thing and it wasnt a biggy ... the shower was a bit small in that you could hardly turn around in it.

Very friendly staff,particularly reception, who were incredibly helpful. Decor was gorgeous. Free drinks and snacks available, a lovely touch. The outside terrace is lovely but unfortunately due to poor weather could not sit outside. View over cricket ground is gorgeous The room was very big. We had booked a Dinky double but were upgraded to roomy king-size, very roomy! The bed was huge and comfortable . The breakfast was lovely too. Complementary water and cookies given on departure for journey, again, nice touch. Overall, it was a great experience. Would go back

Bar staff member very friendly to guests but very slow because he spoke too guests too much, couldn't seem to do both. Eventhough few people in restaurant for evening meal service was poor, friendly but slow and drinks didn't arrive at same time, i think due to chatty bar staff. But overall still a good experience as food and drinks were good, decor lovely and staff friendly

Another fantastic stay. We just love the Bird so much. I chose it as our hotel when I proposed to my partner this time last year so, when booking the same hotel again as a romantic surprise, the team made it extra special for us (without being asked in any way.) We were given the same room, TWO lovely hand-written cards congratulating us, complementary bubbles in the bar downstairs.. So many lovely touches. I can see this being a place that will, of course, remain special for us throughout our lives but one that we will keep coming back to because of how we're treated and how nice of an experience it is.

We pay extra to have our dogs stay with us (which is the norm) but this also comes with two wonderful little welcome boxes for the pups (including treats, a tennis ball, poop bags) and you do also have to pay for parking for the night. But this is also understandable given the alternative would be paid parking elsewhere.

Absolutely stunning room. If you like something a little different, this is the place for you. It doesn't look like a boring hotel, it has character and so so much charm. Super close to the train/bus terminal which is super great if you're coming into Bath without a car. Our room was small but so incredibly comfortable and came with a plethora of amenities that I honestly wasn't expecting. And breakfast was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend it, if only for how amazing the staff were. We chatted, and they gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do.

What an excellent hotel, the staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very comfortable and attention to detail is exceptional, everything has been thought of for you! Food was also amazing, menu had lots of choices. Breakfast included in our room price was absolutely delicious everyday. The new terrace bar was a lovely place for a ‘sundowner’ after a busy day, very comfortable and with blankets when it got chilly! Would definitely recommend, and we will be coming for another visit.

Exceptionally accommodating, warm and friendly staff, who helped make my partner’s 40th very special. Our room had some nice touches (nespresso machine, dyson hairdryer, jacuzzi tub, feature lighting etc), bed linen was of nice quality, and was very spacious. Really couldn’t fault our welcome, the facilities on offer, and helpfulness of everyone we encountered. Nice touches throughout, even on checking out…. Would DEFINITELY recommend, and will return.

Could have done with some instruction on how to work the jacuzzi bath, but that says more about how untechy we are than being the hotel’s fault. Having being the person who booked the room I would rather have known there wasn’t a window/view ahead of time so as not to have been expecting one, because the room was still lovely. Availability of hot water was a little hit & miss (did we use it all in the tub😳)

Perfect location, 10 mins and you're in the city centre Amazing breakfast! Snacks everywhere! Popcorn, sweets and freshly baked cookies on the front desk! Amazing bathroom products by another supported brand! Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and hand soap smelt amazing! We had a cosy room, which was a bit snug. The wet room was nicely laid out but again quite 'cosy'. Parking was only a tiny bit awkward but then again it was in the city centre so much appreciated.

very welcoming. location is short walk across Pultney Bridge into Bath. Rooms clean, well decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and could imagine sitting on on their patio or in their globes enjoying a drink.

shower was small. steep steps to the room, no lift so if you aren’t very mobile would need a ground floor. Reported no hot water in sink but wasn’t fixed and 2nd receptionist I reported it too didn’t seem interested. wine especially expensive, glass of Rose £11.50 or £14 for a medium glass 😳
