The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa

Exceptional surroundings, warm welcome, impeccable service, delicious food, comfortable room. Chocolate and pillow mist in room were nice touches.

It's hard to find fault, but room for future improvement would be: Range of black teas rather lacking. Only English Breakfast or Earl Grey offered. Would have liked an Assam or Darjeeling. No biscuits with hospitality tray. No fridge in room. Technology needs updating. TV not 'smart'. Range of available channels very limited. Clock radio very dated (iPod dock, no bluetooth).

The staff were very efficient and very welcoming. On arrival our checking in was very professional and quick. We had a private dining room and the service was exceptional. Both our head waiter and sommelier were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good indeed. Our suite Beckford was very comfortable indeed. Very quiet as it was at the top of the hotel. Valet Parking was excellent. The reception and concierge were helpful, friendly and professional.

There was nothing wrong with the hotel or our stay. We were disappointed that we missed the opening of the new bar and dining room, that look stunning. We will return to experience them of course.

From the moment we arrived the staff were excepitionally welcoming polite and increibly helpfull i struggle hugely with a bad back and the team couldnt have helped any more than they did. with pre arranged flowers and choclates for my wife the recpeption team did an amazing job of selection from 18 red roses and hand made locally sourced choclates really did beat all expectations. although the retraunt is under refurb this by no means meant facilities were short with a quaint restraunt on the lower floor ws personal and very comfortable. The room was airy and of a good size with plenty of seating the lack of a teas made wasnt much of a problem as complimentry hot drinks were at hand when needed. Really looking forward to re booking in the early summer to realy get out and explore more

Concierge service was exceptional. The reception staff were super helpful and took us on a tour and room ordination with enthusiasm and friendlyness even though they had probably done the same thing multiple times that day already. Made us feel special. Also they upgraded us without asking to a very special room which was awesome.

Breakfast - we were squashed into the front section and the larger room was full of large empty tables. Would have been nicer to have a bit more room and not sitting so close to other diners. Sausage was not cooked and pink in the middle. The waiter seemed tired and a. It abrupt- because everyone else was so friendly it stood out but was not a big issue.

Nearly everything. Porters, front desk, valet parking and reception helpful, welcoming and very efficient. Great sommelier- very knowledgable. Lovely rooms and facilities, great gardens, plenty of outside seating.

Being very picky, food and drinks service somewhat slow, and haphazard. Forty minute wait for three toasted sandwiches at lunch, however excellent when they arrived. Checked the evening before with reception that our request for milk the next morning was registered - woke up, no milk; had to bother reception who organised it swiftly, then found we had mint tea bags, not English breakfast tea. Dinner menus a bit confusing, had to have the options explained twice. As I said,I am being picky and these did not detract from our stay. We will return in the future.

excellent service from start to finish. friendly staff, rooms were immaculately clean, lovely touch to the door with our name on, royal crescent mugs were lovely, massive bed which was so comfy, spa was lovely very quiet which was great the bar man made us our own cocktail to suit what we liked! - very thoughtful quiet and calm surroundings easy walk into bath town

the iron wasn’t great didn’t heat up enough, room 35 the paint was coming off the wall in the bathroom, no steak night given at dinner… but these are NOT complaints just little niggles… didn’t effect our stay what so ever

My secretary booked our reservations. When I arrived I found that I was to be charged not only for our suite for our one night stay but in the case of my sister's (Helen Jackson) single room, I was to be charged for two nights for her single room although she stayed only one night. I have stayed at the Royal Crescent a number of times over a period of years and have frequently recommended it to others but I was disappointed by the reservations staff unwillingness to waive the double charge for my sister's single room.

Payed £331 for 1 night which turned out to be a room with no view whatsoever. Very noisy ventilation of both my own bathroom and neighbouring rooms disturbed our sleep multiple times. Couldn’t be turned off manually. Room service next door was so loud it woke us up at 8am. cleaning service from neighbouring room at 10am woke us up again, so no lie in possible or our day off/anniversary.

The spa is one of the best we've ever visited - not busy and just spot on for atmosphere. The breakfast was exceptional and very tasty. Also, the staff. Nothing was a problem and we appreciated that attitude.

A couple of individuals ignoring the no mobile phone signage in the spa was really disappointing. We could hear quite a bit of noise from our room (35) from the room below and door opening and closing was really loud just outside the room we were in.

The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with excellent views over the city. The reception rooms, dining areas and garden were lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful - nothing was too much to ask. We enjoyed the tasting menu in the Dower House and the sommelier was very knowledgeable.

The shower room was very small, so a bit disappointing. I totally understand as it is a period property that it is difficult to make adaptations. However, as the room was fairly expensive I would have expected a larger bathroom. Breakfast was very good, although my husband would have liked to see kippers/kedgeree etc on the menu.
