Marsham Court Hotel

Very clean, food lovely, especially the evening three course menu. The staff couldn't do enough and made both of us and our dog very welcome. Some places that claim to be dog friendly turn out not to be, not the case here. She was allowed everywhere except the restaurant and pool area which is totally understandable. There was an area where the staff set up a dining table so we could eat with our dog.

The only nasty surprise was having to pay £60 to park the car for four nights at the hotel because we had booked through a third party.

Everything from the staff all being super friendly and helpful, even when they looked absolutely exhausted having worked very long days they smiled and didn't complain. Pat was lovely, as was one of the young guys behind the bar, and the guy on reception who let me out many times during the night when I needed a cigarette. They made you feel like a welcomed family member and that without doubt is not something I have encountered for well over 40 years. We will be coming back. The pool was lovely, not deep at all which was great for a 5'3 tall non swimmer who panics if he cant feel his feet at the bottom of the pool. There was plenty of seating inside, outside and around the pool. They had a good range of food on the menu and tried many things from it. The service was great and very fast, extremely attentive to our needs. The room was lovely and spacious, contemporary, and exceptionally clean. Breakfast consisted of help your self Full English, toast, cereal, fruit juices, tea, coffee, etc. Everything you could possibly need to fuel you for the day.

The lifts. Only two lifts and both were incredibly slow. I am 53 years of age and despite being impatient by nature, I have a tendency to be more lenient when waiting for lifts, however even the older patrons complained how slow they were and they were small.

We arrived at noon time and allowed us to use the heated pool while waiting to check-in. They allowed us to check-in an hour earlier. The building was old but it was well maintained. Been in a lot of hotels around UK and old buildings smells old. This one smells clean and fresh. Really closed to the beach. It was so lovely getting off the beach and walk 5minutes going back to the hotel pool before getting a proper bath in our room. Forgot to take a photo of the pool.

No explanation of getting a card details to put in their system. The lady receptionist said for security, what kind of security? She just said only for security😆 Then what about our security for fraud/theft/scam? I know that's another issue but who gives their physical atm card to someone "Just for Security Purpose". We ended up handing old card that doesn't have funds. Another thing is the £15 parking fee. We found an overnight free parking 5minutes walk away from the hotel.

The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The location was perfect. It was a small walk to the pier and the beautiful beach. Restaurants were also a walk, but we used taxis. The pool was AMAZING! It was heated and clean. It was open until 8pm. We had lunch on the pool veranda and it was a bit pricey but very nice. The Bournemouth air show was on so we watched that from our sunbeds! The hotel had a nice warm friendly feeling. We really enjoyed our stay!

The shower head needed replacing. No air con but there was a small fan. The radiator in the bathroom was on continuously! We could not turn it off. We stayed during a September heatwave so the room was very stuffy. Our room was not ready at 3pm. The hotel offered us a cream tea to compensate. The breakfast buffet was too expensive at £15pp. We got a taxi to the Harvester and we had breakfast there.

The room was bright, recently updated and comfortable. The location was very good, easy walking down to the beach and boardwalk in Bournemouth as well as to restaurants and other entertainment. The parking was right behind the hotel. I loved that the hotel was dog friendly even though we didn't have our dog with us. There was live music in the lounge in the evening.

The hotel is an old time hotel, so if you're after modern decor and glitz this isn't for you, but our stay was very pleasant and our room updated. We didn't stay long and didn't have many demands so there isn't anything I can point to that was wrong.

Exceptional value stay for 2 nights. Travelling with husband and friends to visit Christmas lights and market, and attend concert at the Bournemouth Pavilion. The Hotel is, clean, comfortable, in a perfect location, the staff all very friendly and helpful. Our room and en suite were very spacious. The bed was enormous and comfy.. Food/drinks charges reasonable. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bournemouth.

There was nothing we didn't like

Staff were friendly and hospitable. Room and bathroom were big.

1. No airconditioning. It was hot, the windows could be cracked open just a little. But a request for a fan was quickly addressed. 2. The bathroom, although large and modern, did not have any countertops, only a small glass ledge above the sink for toothbrushes and toothpaste. Stepping out of the bathtub, I mistook the depth to the floor and took a tumble. There should be a warning sign and perhaps a small stool for shorter guests. There should be a safety bar to hang on to as well. A towel rack near the bathtub would be good. 3. Clearer instructions should be given so that guests can drive to the carpark at the back of the hotel and enter the lobby through the rear.

Fabulous location, walking distance to the beach, town, theatre, eating out etc. So much to do nearby. Very spacious, clean room (king size and 2 singles), comfy bedding, the fan and mini fridge was appreciated in the hot weather. Good shower and toiletries, plenty of towels, teas & coffees. Iron & hairdryer in room. Lots of areas to sit and relax indoors, out on the terrace or by the pool, pretty flower pots and well maintained. Very calm and peaceful atmosphere, just what we needed. Friendly, patient staff, answered all our questions. Would happily book again.

Wish there had been a deal or special offer when booking multiple nights as it was a pricey stay for the week.

The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. It was situated near to the beach. The room was clean and spacious.

The shower in the room was difficult to use. The hot water was very hot so it was difficult to use the shower without burning yourself. The shower screen did not move making it difficult to judge the temperature of the water without getting into the bath tub and potentially burning yourself. The mini fridge in the room was very noisy and kept making loud noises intermittently throughout the night. The staff could have been more informative. They didn't ask what we would like to do during our stay or offer us use of any of the hotels facilities.
