Fairmount Hotel

I loved the privacy after being in a few hostels. The room was warm and the gentleman that greeted me when I reported in was very kind and warm. And finally a room with towels! Plus the value per night was exceptional and I was able to have a lovely cup of tea and coffee in my room since they provided it with milk and sugar.

The shower took a bit to heat up and the water pressure was a little lacking but not a deal breaker. What made me laugh was how large the sink bowl was but how short the spigot was. I had to press my hand right up against the bowl to get under the water. Also the bigger bed was two mattresses put together and my back could feel it sometimes.

Friendly welcome. Very clean room. Comfortable bed. Perfect location. The only negative was that our room opened on to the reception area. Consequently we heard talking at reception quite early in the morning. However, everything else was good and we would happily stay at the Fairmount again.

For the money this was the best value and most comfortable hotel with an excellent location that I have ever stayed in! At £31 for the night I had a double room (very small but completely adequate) with Tv, coffee/tea making, table and chair plus an ensuite bathroom. The radiators were hot, the water was hot, and it was clean. 5 minute walk into the center of Bournemouth. Fantastic value for money.

You could hear the road despite double glazing; the walls were thin so I could hear next door - fortunately no one was loud but there’s the potential for it …. But for £31 that’s fine!

The room was a good size for the two of us. We had a very clean bathroom with a good sized shower with decent water pressure.. The TV was of a good size for the room. It was really good value for money and was located in an ideal location (only 5 min walk from Bournemouth beach).

There was no shower gel/ shampoo provided in the bathroom. We also were not given a bath mat. However, when we asked for a bath mat they provided us one immediately.

For 11 people, the hotel suited our needs very well. Plenty of beds, two showers in the room and a balcony. The staff were excellent and were very accommodating. They let us give our key to the night porter to ensure we didn't lose it (we were out on a stag so that would have been a distinct possibility!) The option of parking in central Bournemouth was also a massive bonus, costing £10 per car a night which, given the location, was more than reasonable. The location itself was excellent, only being a 5 minute walk into the town centre (excluding the massive hill leading into town).

The only issue for us was the combination of room sizing - it would have been nice to have a couple of family rooms to accommodate all 11 of us evenly, but we ended up having to get a 9 bed and a 2 bed. Still, that was hardly an issue and the rooms themselves were great. Checkout at 10am is a little early, but anything would be if you'd been out drinking heavily the night before!

Location was great for BIC, restaurants etc and hotel had parking which was a bonus. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Good price for budget hotel, very clean and comfortable bed. Will definitely be back!

The friendliness of the staff, the location in relation to the local amenities and the cleanliness. Would go back without a doubt. Why wouldn't you when you only have to ask for something and it appears without fuss or question!

We were surprised there wasn't a wardrobe and drawers. However there was a coat rack with hangers on. As we were only staying 2 nights this was adequate. Wished they did breakfast. Love a fry up on holiday. There really was nothing to complain about.

Everything was clean and nothing was damaged. The beds were comfy and soft for other guests too and were displayed very neatly. Another thing is that the view was beautiful and you could see a lot of different pictures. Finally, the restroom was presented nicely.

I didn’t really like the bathroom because it was too small and only steaming hot water came. You couldn’t control the temperature and too squished to even get in. The television was also not working for different reasons. The only thing that worked was the news round, bbc and the radio with English songs playing. Lastly was the kitchen. There was no kitchen. There was only a kettle and mugs for you to make tea.

Location is amazing, cleanliness is good, girl who checked us in was great also.

Bed was uncomfortable, woke up and my back was completely a mess, I could barely move so we asked for a later check out as was struggling to get everything sorted and was told instantly it would be £20, I probably only needed an extra 30 minutes if that, there was no understanding just an instant move to make money. If the beds were better I would have stayed again! Car parking is an extra fee which is not mentioned until you have booked.
