Hotel Collingwood BW Signature Collection

Spacious room, lots of hot water. Location, near centre of town and the beach. Nexpresso machine in room. Burnt pancakes brought to the breakfast table which the children wouldn't eat, fresh ones cooked without fuss. Head waiter attentive, efficient and apologetic over the slow service (avoid 9am for breakfast!).

I lost my phone, asked a receptionist to ring it for me, giving her the written number. I asked her to wait a few minutes while I got to the room.. She said she had rung it but when I found it 12 hours later down the side of the sofa (thanks to Google search for my phone), she had not rung the number requested. Very disappointing as it caused a lot of unnecessary stress. Paying for parking, £12.50 a day! Nexpresso coffee machine in room - only 2 pods available - both undrinkable (and I am a coffee lover). Shame as a lovely touch to have Nexpresso machine in the room but wasted without good pods.

The location, the choice at breakfast (buffet and from the menu for cooked items), the waiting staff at breakfast , lift access to the room, the hotel and room decor, the facilities (air conditioning, the pool and the leisure room).

The level of cleanliness in the day to day room cleaning could be improved, for instance changing sheets and cleaning (towels were provided daily as I put the sign requesting for the room to be cleaned as instructed, and the bed was made all days except one) Communication, in the sense that I paid for late checkout but I received a call asking why I had not checked out after the standard time had passed. These are however minor points, that pale in comparison to the positives.

The ground floor, bar area and dining room and seating area were all lovely. The staff were very good, good at their jobs plus very friendly. Loved that our dog got a goodie bag on arrival 😊 The breakfast was lovely and the guy that served us was great, we sat in the bar area as we had a dog with us, but the dining room looked lovely. The service and food were faultless. I love the furnishings and decor in all the public areas. We didn't use the games room as we had a dog with us, but great that there's table tennis, table football and pool. Brilliant that we were a short walk to the beach and seafront, as that was why we were visiting, while training the dog we currently have.

The number of stairs, we did try the lift but unbelievably slow and small. But also the stairs from the car park ( you could drop off at the front of the hotel then park!) which are metal fire escape stairs. Our room was very small as it was a dog friendly room, so it was a bit of a tight squeeze, wouldn't work for a large dog. The swimming pool is very small, but good that there is one!

The use of pool, Bar and Dining facilities and all the staff were extremely helpful. The food was very good. The location of the hotel was a 15 minute walk to the sea front, but it was steep in places walking back to the hotel.

The size of the room. I took my daughter and 8 month grandson away for a long weekend, the room was supposed a family room, a very small one at that, we couldn’t fit the cot in very well and it had to be wedged into a space between wardrobe and desk, therefore wardrobe couldn’t be used very easily. The pushchair had to be fitted under desk. We had a double bed and a single bed and were left with a narrow space between wall and bottom of the bed to walk through to en-suite. A member of the staff took the chair out of the room to give us a bit of space. There was a £12.50 charge per night for parking, which I didn’t realise at the time of booking.

the superior family room was spacious and luxurious.

the scrambled eggs were not so good. I will choose fried egg for breakfast next time. The scrambled one was grany and maybe had too much milk in. we needed children program on TV. maybe provided a DVD player and customer can brig own DVDs. The room needed a fridge to store my milk I did not really like that a £50 deposit was taken form me in case of any damages. no music in lounge communal room i the evening. karaoke would have been fun. surprisingly no hot English breakfast buffet. Hot breakfast had to be ordered and was nice though. only 1 sausage each!

Good location, electric car charging, swimming pool, breakfast and excellent cocktails

Had to pay additional £12.50 a night for parking because it wasn't booked direct with the hotel. Had to go back upstairs to reception after swimming in my swimming costume and a towel to ask for sauna to be switched on, there is only a small notice outside the sauna and we weren't asked if we wanted to use it when we collected swim towels from reception. It's not mentioned in the room leaflet you are given when you arrive. Thought water level was a bit low in the jacuzzi. Lift is a bit dodgy and very slow.

Absolutely lovely hotel, we went for the room only option but saw other peoples food and it looked amazing! plenty of food places nearby and a shop. you walk down a hill to a seed the beach and then steps which weren’t too bad it took us 3 minutes. parking is plentiful and at a rate of £12.50. location could not have been better! room was lovely decorated and clean and we had the pool, sauna and jacuzzi to ourselves in the day!

was hard to work out how to get the bubbles going on jacuzzi instructions didn’t make sense but we didn’t ask reception I’m sure they would have helped!

The cleanliness was perfect. I'm always worried about the cleanliness (particularly when there's pools involved) but the whole entire hotel was so clean, I couldn't haven't faulted anything. Milk and cookies for the children at bedtime, a pool, a hot tub and a fun games room with a pool table ect in! Great location into city centre and if you were feeling lazy taxis are easy to call and scooters are right around the corner to rent! Rooms with a sea view! 😍 Lovely restaurant and great breakfast food!

It was a teeny but on the hot side 🤣🙈 I'd love to come back but worry how hot it would be in the summer (although there was a beautiful fan in the wardrobe - I'm a sucker for aircon).

Our room was lovely and very comfortable, would have preferred a better view but it's much more quieter in the back. Croissants & cooked breakfast was yummy and set us up for each day; Bubble Lounge is very colourful & vibrant and drinks options are good and the desserts options were good especially the Churros.

Parking is rather expensive £37.50 for 3 days and can quite busy that you are forced to park downstairs, even for a small car like mine, its quite a squeeze to fit into spaces.

Room was clean, comfortable, access to leisure centre (swimingpool, sauna, jacuzzi), access to play centre, good breakfast, fine evening live enetertainment (little old times but its ok), localization was perfect, 5 minutes walk t9 the beach, access to carpark, access to garden. Staff was helpfull and well organized.

Poor selection in menu at hotel restaurant, poor selection of drinks in bar some little too expensive (martini counted at £4,50 per every 50 ml), rest was fine.
