Mount Stuart Hotel

I would recommend this hotel and we enjoyed our stay here. Mattresses were great and the breakfast was amazing. Fruit juice, cereals, tea/coffee, toast, jam, marmalade, egg, bacon, hash browns, toma to and baked beans - great value! The waitress who served us was efficient and cheerful - please pass on our thanks. We would stay here again - the hotel had a nice living room as well as an outdoor space for guests to sit at. The location is brilliant - so close to restaurants, the town centre, the cinema, the gardens and the beach.

It was slightly disappointing that although we booked a room for four with four individual beds, we got a room with one double and bunk beds. Overall this didn’t impact our stay, though. We liked the room but it was a bit disconcerting that the toilet had a huge window without curtains next to and level with the toilet - so we had to drape a towel across the window to ensure we didn’t flash the neighbouring houses / street! Maybe this is why the light didn’t work in the bathroom! I would suggest the hotel puts up a curtain or something on the glass. However, as I said before, this did not prevent us from enjoying our stay at the Mount Stuart but is a suggestion for the management.

The staff were very friendly, breakfast was wonderful, the room quiet small but neat, overall it was an amazing place to stay in. Great place for family stay.

Breakfast time could be extended a little, coz it was only an hour. There was no handwashing liquid in the bathroom and the toilet brush had tissues on them (they could have made sure it was clean) and the shower cubicle is small and the water kept on filling up in the shower tray. But having said that, the positive of this place outweighs the negative.

We stayed in room 6, the bed was so comfortable. shower very good, The housekeeping/ waitress staff were so attentive nothing was to much trouble. Would highly recommend. We are going to book to come back next year in September, Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay xx We look forward to seeing you next year xx

The room felt a little damp and the shower needs adjustment but other then that it was perfect for what we needed a little trip away with my sister and 7 children. The rooms were good size and was perfect for us all to share. Perfect for a stay away with children close to everything (walking distance) although very hilly. The staff were very friendly and couldn't fault the breakfast. We would go back again 🙂

Breakfast good, location great, walking distance to all the local attractions, short walk to beaches and plenty of local restaurants and bars near the hotel, Thai, Japanese, Italian, English Pub, we tried them all!

The room decor was a little tired and room cleanliness could have been better. Shower water pressure not great, but within expectations at this price point. Car park a bit small for my vehicle, but can park for free on the roads about 10 mins walk away, so we dropped our stuff, parked the car and then we didn’t need the car for the rest of our stay, everything was nearby.

I liked the girls who served breakfast they were friendly, I liked the security system at the front entrance where you can't enter without using the key card I felt safe in there with my family

I didn't like the manager (or boss) because he was very rude only a couple of times he responded nicely otherwise overall he was just very rude, also when I first went in the bedroom the wash basin was blocked and the whole bathroom stank and after a little struggle it was ok but the smell didn't go away, and also we weren't told that the water in the bathroom is not drinkng water so I wasn't happy about that too

great location- easy to find and parking. 6min walk to the pier, 6min other way to shopping. lots of local restaurants and pubs and activities 5min walk away like mr milligans golf. The accommodation is clean and big but basic and slight worn. which is expected and doesn’t affect your stay at all. breakfast was included and the tables where set ready if you wanted, cold food and hot available. staff where all friendly and welcoming, also a lovely hotel cat who came to see us when we checked in and out.

Great location , within easy walking reach of the seafront and all it's amenities & also to the town centre. The room was clean & beds comfortable and the breakfast was lovely.

The only difficulty we encountered was that our room key card stopped working on the day before checkout , a mistake made by the hotel in switching our cards off a day early. If it hadn't been for another guest letting us in to the hotel I'm not sure what we would have done as there was no answer on the telephone or at the door. Once inside reception there were emergency numbers tk contact & we then had to wait an hour for the owner to arrive and update our cards. This was all sorted out & he was most apologetic, however we did have to rearrange our plans for our last evening which was disappointing.

Great property & excellent location. Only a 10 minute walk to main town or the pier & beachfront. We’ve never stayed in a 2 star hotel before,so was a bit sceptical of what it would be like… well we were absolutely pleasantly surprised. Yes it was basic but far surpassed a 2 star. They have better reviews than some of the larger hotels & I’m glad I took a chance. Having a small enclosed car park was another plus, we felt our car was very safe there. Just one slight thing… it’s the hottest hotel ever even when we turned the radiator off & left windows open, Although great in the winter! Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was welcoming warm and clean.

I would have given an excellent rating but when we got back to the hotel late evening our key card did not work on the outside door so we could not get in. Fortunately we lived local went home then came back in the morning and had an excellent breakfast. The manager was very apologetic. We noticed other people staying were also so having difficulty using the key card but fortunately managed to get in by someone who came out for a cigarette.
