It was good to have a restaurant and bar at the hotel. We enjoyed the food and the varied menu. The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. On our first night, Conor was outstanding. he couldn't do enough for us. After our meal, we were due to meet our sister in law. We had come to Coventry to attend my brother's funeral. He found us a table off the main bar and took our drinks. He has a lovely attitude. Every single member of staff was positive and welcoming. The bar staff were brilliant.

The pillows seemed a little uncomfortable on the first night but by the second, I didn't notice. My wife felt that the veggie menu was restricted.

The breakfast was fabulous. A really great choice and top quality fresh and tasty food. The waitresses were lovely - friendly and professional throughout. The had a good rapport with not only myself but all the other diners too. The reception area to the hotel was open and uncluttered. All the staff I dealt with were courteous and helpful.

The edging strip of the bath was torn plastic and just needed replacing. Occasionally the room keycard wouldn’t let me into the room. The young man on reception reset it and it was then fine. And there was a wall-mounted garden light which was under the side window of the room - this flashed constantly through the day and night - it was okay because the blind was down, although I could still see the flashing light around the edges. That’s all!!!

The room was spacious and very comfortable. There were lots of clothes hangers in wardrobe, which is an annoyance of mine, normally never having enough! The decor was very cosy and welcoming Staff were very friendly with servicing, offering suggestions for local amenities and, just in general The simple gesture of filling our water bottles with ice and water as we left before a five hour train journey was very much appreciated Although we don't have a dog, the doggie snacks and water station was a brilliant idea!

The wait for breakfast when we arrived just after 7am was a little too long - over 35 minutes for two cooked breakfasts The room was too hot, but it was mid-August, so hardly the hotel at fault No decaf teabags in room, not a massive issue, but more and more people prefer decaf for health/medical reasons No lift is available, but the age and dynamics of the building, I guess this would be awkward. It wasn't a major issue for us, but at the end of the long day, it would be nice not to have to climb stairs Only one easy chair in room, which meant I was relegated to sitting on the bed

The staff was very accommodating, they went out of their way to help give us a lovely stay . We stayed two nights and due to my disability made sure I was bottom floor and had everything I needed . The exceptional bar staff . I had one girl that due to the heat and my diabetes I was unable to have any drinks the second evening so instead of giving me just water she made it look and taste something better than boring. We would definitely stay again . Oh and the salmon and egg breakfasts mmm beautiful. The eggs done to perfection . 🥰 All in all an amazing stay , not sure about the bad feedback because we never waited for any meals and the rooms yes dated but clean ..

room was tired & lacked items we have become accustomed to when traveling with Booking.com no bottled water in room, no glasses in bathroom, no tissues on dressing table, poorly stocked tea/coffee/biscuits etc. price of room only, did not reflect expectations evening meal was unsatisfactory, risotto rice undercooked, long wait for side orders to arrive was told that short staffed and busy evening, was offered complimentary dessert but declined staff were polite & obviously under pressure

Good friendly and helpful reception staff. I was provided with a ground floor room with an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub as I requested. The room and premises were clean and pleasant. Any issues with the room were promptly attended to. Breakfast offered a good selection of choices. The eatery/pub offered good food, and if you eat between noon and 4pm there are some good value offers. Overall it was excellent.

If no ground floor rooms are available there are no lifts and quite a lot of stairs. The en-suite bathroom was getting a bit dated, and needs a make over, as long as they retain the bathtub! There were no handles on the bathtub and no grab rails, which is probably rather unsafe, especially the more elderly. The coffee served at breakfast was luke warm on both days I was staying.

Great quiet location. Room was spacious & warm. Shower was excellent. No noise from neighbouring rooms. No noise from outside. Best of all - no noise from air conditioning unit, as there wasn't one! Great as I cold open the windows for fresh air if needed. Parking was good in the private carpark. Check in and check out times were generous. Option to have breakfast and/or an evening meal, but no pressure to do so. And great Wi-Fi in the room.

One small niggle was the light that comes in under the door - all hotel rooms have all sorts of bits lighting up, like electronic device connections. There were none of those in the room, but the light coming in under the door did disturb and I had to turn away from the door to get to sleep. But once I was asleep, it was fine. Perhaps a fitted draught excluding brush to the base of the door might help.

Location pleasant and quiet. Plenty good car parking. Staff friendly, atttentive, helpful and responsive, including putting our cool box freezer packs in kitchen freezer overnight.

Breakfast always long-winded, maybe more staff on duty needed. Lack of grab rails to bath showers, would be appreciated by us elderly! Only 1 hand towel provided for 2 guests! Shaver striplight over basin not working. No table in restaurant available on evening of arrival, website should advise potential guests of need to book? Some exposed electrical wiring in restaurant due to damaged conduit, A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE. Second day breakfast order wrongly taken, had to wait for correct order to arrive. Boiled eggs not available for breakfast. Background music to evening dining too loud, asked for it to be turned down but no effect. Maintenance urgently required to external facades especially brickwork and timber windows. Broken step in rear garden area.

The hotel was a lovely surprise for the price Our room was very comfortable, spacious, quiet with a lovely view of the river. The terrace overlooking the river would have been a nice place to have a pre dinner drink if the weather had been better! The restaurant wasn’t very clean and tidy but it was 8pm on Sunday night.! Our table wasn’t clean and the food was average but the staff were friendly. However, we would definitely stay again as it’s just off the motorway.

Breakfast & food overall was very good. And the staff were very attentive & polite. Felt there wasn’t enough of them when it came to clearing outside space.

The room was a bit on the small side. The furniture was very old with knobs falling off the wardrobe. The bathroom was very tired & run down with the bath panel secured with tape. Considering the location the outside space was very shabby & dirty. I didn’t feel it was fair to mention any of the bad points to the reception. As it’s down to management to fix the problems I’ve pointed out.
