The Angel Hotel

We enjoyed our one night stay at the Angel Hotel. The location was superb, at the end of one of the main shopping streets in the town. It also has parking, which is certainly a major plus in this location. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, as was the barman in the evening and staff in the dining room for breakfast. Our room, number 101, was very comfortable, with what seemed to be an "Emperor" size bed and walk-in shower. We had a bit of a problem working out how the light over the sink worked (you move your hand up and down to the right side of the mirror!) but were helped by a sympathetic member of the reception staff. Breakfast was very good. We will probably visit lovely Leamington Spa again and will definitely consider staying in the Angel hotel.

Very handy for everything! Shops, cafes, Jephson Park, Pump rooms, Spa rooms etc. The Angel hotel has welcoming, helpful staff. Large room with plenty of space, chairs and huge TV. Great bathroom, big modern shower and all modern facilities and little extras that make your stay special. The breakfast was superb, lots of choice to cover even the fussiest tastes, spot on.

Only the usual little things in hotels, tiny kettle, no none-slip match in the shower (those places are lethal when you add soap!) and silly big lamp shades on reading lamps, so you can’t actually see anything when next to them. I say, all hotel staff should spend a night in every room and make notes!

My room, 15, was spacious and with a nice, big comfortable bed. The room had the usual tea & coffee making facilities but, unusually, there were lots of coffee sachets to make several cups - a bit of a treat as most hotels are a bit stingy. The Wi-Fi was a secure network - another bonus. The hotel location is good - nice and central but quiet. The station is an easy 15-minute walk and the Parade about 5 minutes away. Fans of architecture and history will note that the Royal Pump Room is only about 5 minutes walk and Lansdowne Crescent and Circus are similarly about 5 minutes away - albeit in the opposite direction. Leamington has several lovely parks, helping to make it a charming and attractive town to wander around. As you'd expect, the staff here are all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was also very good, with plenty of staff on hand - which was good to see as it was quite busy (another good sign). Light sleepers might want to request a room that doesn't face the Royal Pug - there's no music, just happy voices...

Room 21 was very spacious and very comfortable, there was a desk and chair and a separate sitting area with 2 lounge chairs and a small table with kettle, tea, coffee, water and biscuits. Shower was good. Included breakfast was excellent. Our room was close to the elevator (as requested) and had a pleasant view. Excellent location one block from the main shopping street, yet quiet at night.

Parking is limited and a bit tight. There were three windows in the room and two would not open at all, the third window was close the to vent from the kitchen which made for interesting aromas first thing in the morning.

Very friendly & welcoming staff, Nice sized room. Very well appointed room plenty of space. Lots of sockets for chargers etc Room had plenty of storage. Quality breakfast foods and drinks I would without doubt stay here again.

The hotel bar could be open alot earlier even if it was for a coffee/tea whilst you wait till the check in. If any grumble it would be for double glazing... BUT it WASN'T noisy on the whole. Be aware that tuesday is bin day and the bin lorry was exceptionally loud and the refuse guys sure love the sound of their voices. BUT THIS IS NO FAULT OF THE HOTEL OR IT'S STAFF.

Great location. Felt like a luxury hotel with excellent decor and comfort throughout. Room finished to a high standard with brilliant ensuite shower and toilet. Cosy clubby bar. Pleasant reception area. Breakfast beautifully cooked. Located just minutes away from the town centre and the river. Really exceptional stay.

Be aware that as a town centre hotel there can be some noise outside. Bring earplugs. Also limited on site parking at £5.00 a day. However you're only 10minutes walk from the railway station with a good service from London and Birmingham.

Helpful and friendly staff. Good quality, substantial breakfast. The hotel is ideally located, just five minutes stroll from the attractive town centre and also just a few minutes on foot to Jephson Gardens.

Unfortunately, we had to climb 32 stairs to reach our room (Room 11) because there was no lift in that part of the hotel. However, there is a lift in another section of the hotel so guests who prefer not to climb too many stairs should ask when booking for a room which has access by lift.

Check in was easy, very friendly and helpful staff. Great location, a short stroll to shops,bars,cafes, restaurants and gardens etc. On site parking was limited, but we found space for two cars. Loved the breakfast, very tasty, with a nice variety of options. Also liked the lovely little decked area outside, ideal to sit out with a coffee. The on site bar is very nice to retire to after a long day site seeing, or after dinner etc.

It was a shame that the on site restaurant does not open at weekends.

Best hotel in this area, and due to family location I visit Leamington often. Superb location at reasonable price, warm friendly staff and exceptional breakfast included. Parking only £5.00 per night! Immaculate rooms, superior bed linen and wonderful bathroom. Faultless stay from start to finish, will be back every time I come to Leamington Spa. Go there to experience the best breakfast but especially the poached eggs.

Longer stay not possible this time. Sad to leave. Wish they opened for Christmas, but they probably deserve a well earned rest. There is absolutely nothing to say that is negative.

The hotel was located at the end of one of the main streets in the town, so an ideal location to access the town centre, parks and famous spa. It was easy to find and there was parking on site. There was plenty of shopping, eating and drinking options all very close to the hotel and the gig that we went to was less than 10 mins walk from the hotel. The room was large, clean and offered everything that we expected. The bathroom was clean and had a great walk in shower. Breakfast was good. We ordered a cooked breakfast that arrived in about 5 mins (veggie options available) and there was also toast, croissants, cereals, fruit and yoghurt on offer - so every base covered. Would stay there again if we are ever back in Leamington Spa.

There was an additional £5 charge for parking. I know it isn't a big fee, but they really shouldn't be applying these charges to their guests, especially when they only have 20 or so spaces and the rooms are not 'cheap'.
