Pier 36

I was visiting NI on business and decided to book at the Pier 36 and how pleased I did. The initial reception was very professional. I was shown up to the room (number 2) which was very large and spacious and spotlessly clean. All this with a sea view as well. I took the opportunity to have dinner down in the bar. I had the soup starter followed by Haddock both of which I enjoyed. After a good nights sleep and a wonderful hot shower I went for breakfast. I can not recommend the award winning Muesli highly enough followed by poached eggs on sough doe bread. I left feeling well fed and rested, which is all you can ask for from a B&B.

Everything about this place is absolutely fantastic! Staff and locals both very welcoming - We initially booked this accommodation as we watched the TV series Hope Street - we were then informed in advance that the bar & restaurant would be closed on the first day of our stay due to TV filming but would still have access to food and drinks at to the neighbouring bar and then able to use the Pier 36 bar facilities on the second day - this suited us perfectly as as we could still sit outside in the sun and meet all the actors and film crew on day one then see experience inside on day two! (With a 5 piece band playing that night being the cherry on the top)

Staff appear very happy at work & I think this makes for the lovely pleasant service we got. There was a wee hickup at breakfast - but the manner in which it was dealt with just added to our good opinion of staff. Food prep was excellent & service better than any 4 star hotel I've stayed at. Want to go back.

On our second night the guest next door was snoaring! It was so loud it kept me awake - so a bit better soundproofing or ear plugs might be an idea! Not the fault of hotel though! 😆

beautiful view from our bedroom window, had lunch outside in courtyard. food excellent. music in evening very relaxing

Breakfast was fantastic , staff in the Harbour & Company bar couldn’t do enough for us and same with the staff in Bow & Bells where we’d breakfast.

Nothing to dislike .

excellent value for money, generous sized comfortable well equipped room not luxury hotel standard but only on a cosmetic level as everything you need is supplied including tea coffee and a fridge, large spotless bathroom lovely view of sea and cosy heating you can adjust yourself and windows that open, then food was not fancy but was excellent quality great steak and accompanies delicious desert good house wine and all at excellent price, staff were lovely and professional, it’s location to harbour front and town was also excellent we had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay ( something I couldn’t say after staying in some very expensive hotels) my husband who is fussy gave the Guinness a big thumbs up, would recommend Pier 36 whole heartedly

very little, some mad patterned carpet in some areas purely cosmetic and irrelevant to comfort of stay

Lovely holiday home recently refurbished- well designed good shower / bathroom and kitchen and living space for family getaway. All facilities provided - check in or out was easy and staffs are nice. There’s bar and restaurants that serve food and entertainment. lively and lovely walk in town.

not much, no shampoo and soap provided but not a problem. steep stairs go up to bedroom not great for older people or very young children- but it’s fine for us . lovely sitting area and going kitchen .

Such friendly and professional staff. Service with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. We popped in for dessert which was amazing and the breakfast was huge and delicious. My Husband and I are fans of Hope Street (Pier 36 is 'The Commador' in the show,) so we saw all the posters from the show etc. The lady serving breakfast even said, "Welcome to The Commador.' My Husband booked this for our third wedding anniversary and it was super.

Everything about Pier 36 is brilliant. The food is amazing, we had dinner and breakfast and couldn't fault any of it. The staff were all so friendly and nothing was any trouble for them. We were given a complementary room upgrade and the room was absolutely beautiful, it was huge with the comfiest bed I have ever slept in in a guest house or hotel. And the view from the bedroom was amazing! The room was much nicer than some of the much more expensive hotels and for a fraction of the price. We would definitely return!

Room was small, but comfortable. Bed was comfy and I slept well. Amenities were very nice. Breakfasts were fantastic! Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I had a full fry up one day and Eggs Royale the next. Could not have been better! The staff was friendly and helpful.

Everything was excellent. I would not change a thing.
