Outstanding !!! Location was perfect for visiting family. Parking outside property was a bonus. The breakfast was phenomenal. Really. There was so much choice. Didn't have to buy anything extra. There was enough goodies to use for a picnic with our granddaughter. The private annexes was excellent in every way. Bed was comfy, bathroom was very clean and the shower was great. The little kitchenette had everything we needed and more. A tv in the bedroom and free WiFi. Sue is a great lady. A perfect host. She made us very welcome and was always available if required.

Nothing could have improved our stay. Except maybe, staying longer at Sue's😃

Peaceful few days away. Exceptional Continental Breakfast refreshed each day. Great variety of breads, teas, coffees, cereals, fruit, meats, cheese, yoghurts. Everything provided. Comfort of bed, bed linens, Bathroom, Shower, towels all of a high standard.Fantastic nights sleep each night, felt refreshed in the morning. Fantastic Host, Sue goes Above and Beyond, Attention to Detail Exceptional. We stayed with our dog whose every need was also taken care of. Beautiful dog bed provided, water dish, doggy biscuits provided each day. Easy to take doggy out through own private entrance for toilet or walks.

Fabulous and private and exceptional hosting . Lovely homely stay. Much better than a hotel stay. Well stocked pantry supplies. Sue is an absolute lady. Looking forward to returning again. Thank you for welcoming us and making us feel so at ease.

LOVED EVERYTHING!!!

The accommodation is an annex to the main house with a private and separate entrance. The location was very convenient for my needs being near to Bangor and in a very quiet cul-de-sac housing area. Parking was on the driveway. The bedroom was a good size, and very warm room, but the radiators could be turned turned. The double bed very soft with bedside lights. There was a separate bathroom and a lovely rain shower. There was a separate kitchen with fridge, sink and small table. The owner was very welcoming and friendly, and left lots of snacks and goodies

Freedom with our own access so not troubling the host as we went in and out. The variety of food Sue left for breakfast and snacks was really good including lots of fruit etc. Even freshly made muffins . The shower was really good too. There is lovely seating in the garden to enjoy as well.

Everything! I’d like to say that I don’t normally leave reviews for places that I have stayed in but the sheer warmth with which Sue Douglas welcomed us for our recent 2 day stay at her beautiful home compelled me to do so! The choice of food for breakfast was amazing, the cleanliness of the annex in which we stayed was second to none and the comfort of the bed was superb! However, it was Sue’s friendliness that shone through, nothing was too much trouble and felt, albeit for a short period of time, part of her family. Thank you. On a more practical note, the location is about a 5-10 minute walk into Donaghadee High Street, so you are very close to an abundance of bars, shops and restaurants. I am running out of superlatives here but needless to stay, if we visit Donaghadee again, would you love to stay at The Lantern and I recommend you do so too!

Sue is the perfect host and made me feel very welcome. The room was spotlessly clean, very well organised and ticked every box! Excellent location for restaurants, pubs, etc. great value for money too! If I am working in this area, I would look nowhere else than to stay at the Lantern.

Owner Sue was so lovely. Very welcoming and showed us how to operate everything. Room was lovely and warm and comfortable. Breakfast suppled was beyond our expectations. Lovely treat. Amazing value all round .

Nothing really. The only negative is that I like a bath when away but it wasn’t an issue to me as I knew that already.

We loved the ability to walk into town for dinner. The separate entrance was great. The breakfast on our own was super and the selection of items was fantastic. Everything needed was supplied. This may have been my favorite stay in Ireland. Thank you to our hostess.

Sue is a fantastic lady she runs a very clean establishment every thing is spot on. The bed is great toilet shower and wash basin all spotless the kitchen is great every thing you need and the food that sue leaves for you is spot you will not go hungry. The garden is fantastic very tidy and has good parking in front bungalow
