La Mon Hotel & Country Club

We loved it

A small point was the dinner wasn't as good as we had hoped. The inflexibility of the children's menu when I asked for a different topping on his pizza was surprising from such a nice establishment. I was told "it's strictly whats on the menu" to which I sarcastically thought "Oh that's fine, children being notoriously easy going when it comes to food". I had the adults burger which I didn't like. The bun seemed to overpower the taste of everything else. Maybe a different sauce would help. A Mayo mustard or something. The food didn't seem to match the quality of the rest of the hotel.

Breakfast was absolutely fabulous- fantastic selection, lovely quality products and catered for gluten free and vegetarian. Mattresses were very comfortable and we could control the heat in our room which was great. Shower had great pressure so was lovely. Love music in the hotel was brilliant

The spa facilities need to be upgraded- the steam room had no steam. Sauna was fine but small. Pool was nice in fairness as was jacuzzi but facilities could do with an upgrade.

Lovely large room, shower was amazing. Bed was very comfy and the room was spotless. Both the reception and bar staff were absolutely lovely. We were at a wedding reception and the grounds and the meal were fantastic.

Breakfast service was a bit messy, no eggs, bread, mushrooms or bacon were left and noone was around to ask for any more. We stood for over 5 mins before someone came out of the kitchen and to be fair she was great and she did go and get them made for us. I just think more staff are definitely needed for a weekend shift at breakfast considering it is a wedding venue. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

Dinner was lovely, live music was good

When we returned to the room after dinner, our radiator was making loud vibrating noises. To stop it meant turning the heat up, which we didn’t want to do. We rang down to reception and they would send someone up but no one appeared. After 15/20 minutes it fixed itself. At 6am it started making a humming noise

We spent Easter at La Mon Hotel and were delighted with the amount of activities the hotel had in it's offer to entertain children. Variety of choices for breakfast. Nice mains in the dinner menu. Friendly staff. Lots of places to rest and to have relaxing time at the fireplace. Life music every evening. Large, clean swimming pool and well equipped gym.

Rooms could be better cleaned. Expensive alcohol.

Well run establishment, staff very pleasant, rooms excellent and facilities highly rated. Fabulous swimming pool. The grounds were exquisite and well cared for.

Only one issue with the key card which kept wiping itself! I'd no phone nor card near it but eventually the cleaning staff realised it was the door and not us. They ensured it was fixed promptly

Perfect for our short break. Out in the countryside and quiet, but close to City and port for easy transfers. Food in restaurant was very good. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Nice pool and spa area which we did get to use once. Friendly and helpful staff, coping well and doing their best despite shortages and the current situation with Covid, thank you.

A nice lounge area for evenings would have been nice. Choice was sitting in Bistro at dining tables, or in reception area. With all the space available a more comfortable area by the bar would have suited us!

Check in staff were very polite and helpful. Room was lovely. Spotless clean. Very roomy. Couldnt fault it at all. Dinner was lovely. Food piping hot. Arrived very quickly. Beautiful roaring fire which we sat at for hour enjoying a lovely drink Decor is beautiful in the hotel. Pool and spa area is lovely and clean. Pool is really nice. Great size. Bed was super comfy. Had fabulous night sleep.😍😍

nice, clean and the room was a good size

only negative was the service in the restaurant / bar. making my order and getting the items out was great but after I finished dinning, it was nearly 30 minutes until I was able to pay my bill. table service seemed to stop and I had to wait at the bar to pay. not the end of the world, the staff were lovely, just didn’t seem to be enough of them. same happened when I stayed a few months back, must send people home early.

Size of the room and bathroom. Nice breakfast (porridge was available on request). Good quality evening meal. Family orientated place - a lot of activities for children.

Only brewed coffee available, no other coffee options. I regret I had no time to try the leisure areas.
