The Knight Residence by Mansley

Great central location. Didn't like being on 5th floor (top floor). Comfortable, quiet, well stocked, clean, 2 bedrooms apartment. Washer/ dryer machine. Drying cycle terrible (need drying rack instead). Need spatula in kitchen utensils. Provided with a bottle of milk and selections of tea/ coffee etc. If you want, the apartment is cleaned and restocked every day. We didn't need that. Supplies were also provided by reception. The day we arrived the elevator decided not to work!! We had to hike up 5 flights of stairs! Fortunately, it was fixed fairly quickly, and we were able to use it to bring up all our luggage. Provided 2 sets of keys with front entrance door fobs. Coffee machine available in tiny lobby. Very convenient grocery store right around the corner. Short walk to many restaurants, events and transport. Would definitely stay here again. A few small issues. Would give a 4.5/5 rating.

As above. Needs drying rack for clothes. No spatula in kitchen. Forgot to mention shower/ bathtub needs a rubber mat as it is very, very slippy. (quite dangerous) I considered buying one. Maybe the staff can provide one if asked. Master bedroom small.

Big apartment in a quiet location close to Grassmarket and the Royal Mile. The kitchen was well equipped with a microwave and fridge. The beds were very comfy with great pillow selection. The concierge was exceptionally helpful when the dryer did not work and brought a drying rack up. There is a grocery store nearby and lots of options for coffee/tea in the morning.

The shower door was not fully enclosed and every shower resulted in water on the floor leaving our bath mats saturated everyday. These never dried out. The safe was broken and we were unable to use it, but reported it to the concierge once we checked out.

Apartment was perfect, spacious, clean and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone. Location was great and plenty of car park spaces.

Our room wasn't ready when we checked in so we were waiting in the very small hallway area. There wasn't any seating which was needed, as we were waiting for about 30 mins with all our luggage. Wasted space next to the small coffee machine would be ideal for a small seating waiting area especially for travellers that aren't as mobile as others.

The apartment was better than it looks on the website and we really appreciated the fact that all four of the main rooms had doors-both bedrooms, the living room (with sleeper sofa) and the kitchen. Since we were jet-lagged and everyone was on a different time schedule, that meant we had four separate rooms where people could hang out without bothering someone else. We had five adults and we did well in this space although we could definitely hear noises from anyone else unless they were careful to be quiet. The washer/dryer takes time to dry but worked great. There could have been more pans for the stove but the ones there were fine and there were all the things we needed to cook. Grocery store is quite close. The location is really quite good for exploring the city and we walked everywhere. This location is uphill to Edinburgh castle and High Street where a lot of shops and museums are, but lots of places are uphill in the city. It wasn't too hard of a walk.

This hotel seemed very safe to us but there are unfortunately several strip bars close by. I did not feel unsafe because there are also a lot of other boutique shops and a grocery store in the same location, but it was not pleasant to walk by at night.

More cutlery and dishes. five people staying and we had 5 teaspoons , 5 knives and forks, mugs, etc. But with a dishwasher you need more than one of everything so you can use again before you put on dishwasher. A few more dishes and more cutlery please. Who has 5 teaspoons, 5 wine glasses, etc? It was ridiculous in an otherwise well appointed apartment. Front entrance area was dirty with litter and cigarette butts - this was improved after a complaint but a bucket of water and a scrub would have helped more.

Reception staff were superb. Allowed us the use of their toilet as we arrived early and had little ones who needed to go! Flat was clean. Kitchen was a bit of a squeeze for 3 adults and two kids, but was not a massive issue.

Paying for / reserving parking before hand was a bit of a faff and not clear how to do it. you had to log into their own portal and then pay £15 a night but there was no particular itemised payment, you just typed in the amount freehand which you think you had to pay which felt a bit odd - am i paying in the right place ,will they know it is for me and for my car etc. this could be greatly improved imho.

Having a half gallon of milk in the fridge to greet us was a nice, unexpected touch. Very adequate supply of coffee and tea. All appliances and TVs worked and were easy to use. Apartment was spacious, very adequate for needs of my family of four adults. Reception was helpful; booked us a taxi that arrived at 5AM on time to whisk us to the airport for our return flight.

Not clear what cleaning staff does. Did not change the sheets or make the beds during our one week stay.

Location is convenient, close to everything from grocery store, places to go, to coach station (Waverley). Place is comfortable for our family of four adults, we each have our own bed, which is something we hoped for. Decent size with great kitchen and ensuite laundry. Will stay again if we visit Edinburgh. Staff offers to store luggage for us before check-in, which is very helpful.

Some of the bedding is a bit musty, and the flusher for toilet sometimes isnt working and requires a few try.

An extremely clean and comfortable apartment hotel. It was perfect for my family when we stayed over Christmas. The kitchen was well-equipped (with a dishwasher!) and the bathroom had shower essentials on hand. The TV had Netflix, Amazon Prime etc and the apartment was well-heated throughout our stay. It's a great place if you're planning to cook your meals and it is very close to Sainsbury's. A quiet area where the tourist spots Grassmarket, Edinburgh Castle and more were just a 10 mins or less walk away. The housekeeping was also a plus! Thanks to all the staff

The walk from Princes St. is uphill (but only 10 mins) if anyone needs to keep that in mind. Nothing bad to note about this place though.
