No air-conditioning made room uncomfortably warm during record heatwave, but this would not be an issue in more normal weather and was reflected in room rate. And a fan was provided! Windows old and not well sound-proofed made room noisy evening and morning (but night mostly quiet because not a busy road).

The room was as shown in photos. Loverly walk in shower towels were provided, that were changed everyday. The location couldn't have been better,so close to a shopping centre, great places to visit all in walking distance. Gloucester Quays is a must. Beautiful restaurants, reasonably priced.

I know the hotel room has a microwave, and kettle, but just at breakfast time it would have been nice if a small area downstairs had a coffee station ,and a offering of croissants or something. The only vending machine I saw in the hotel was empty, so that was a minus. After a long day out ,back to the hotel I didn't fancy a night time walk on my own to get a bottle of water and something nice to eat as a sugar fix.

I liked the location and the simplicity of booking and checking in. It was also great to be able to extend my checkout time by a few hours too for a small fee. Room was large and comfy with a big window, full fridge and microwave, which was perfect for cooking up some ready meals.

Towels in the bathroom were tiny and pillows were very flat. Not the worst issues but would have been a more comfortable stay. I also paid for a late checkout and as I was packing up. A member of staff knocked on the door and asked to come in to do some safety checks. Which seemed odd, and awkward, as they went through just flicking a switch or two here and there then leaving and I then felt a bit rushed like I was in the way, when I still had another hour until 1pm. Felt a bit unnecessary when I was due to be leaving an hour later. So I left earlier than expected.

Central Hotel was very good value for money. We had a spacious room, well-fitted bathroom and comfy beds. The fridge and microwave are great additions. Everything was very clean. Parking is at the nearby multi storey, accessible via the shopping centre opposite the hotel. This was easy. The location is within easy walking distance of the cathedral (well worth a visit) and quayside, with many restaurants and a cinema. Staff were all pleasant and helpful.

The hotel's location is very central and we did experience some street noise, especially with our stay being on a Friday. So if you're staying on a busy night and are a light sleeper, then earplugs would be useful. However, that being said, the location is also within easy walking distance of the cathedral and quayside area - with a great selection of restaurants and a cinema.

Very convenient location, close to the bus stops, coach station and train station, also close to central Gloucester for the high street and shopping centres. There was a lift (although access to rooms was not completely step free - those with impaired mobility may find it easier to go one floor up and walk down the steps to their room - not possible if you're on the top floor of course). The room was spacious, and had a fridge and microwave, dishes and cutlery, all excellent for increasing meal options.

Although we asked for room cleaning, and basic things were done (bed made, cleaning bathroom, clean towels, topping up toilet roll, tea, and coffee, clean dishes and cutlery, bins emptied etc.) the room wasn't hoovered the whole time we were there - 4 nights, and the floor was pretty messy by the time we left.

Lovely kind receptionist, very spacious room, nice and clean. Really liked the fridge, microwave and crockery in the room. Great value! It feels like they really try to think of guests.

Very hot basement room, and couldn’t really get any air in without feeling very exposed - nets and heavy curtains afforded privacy but made the room stifling! The area was noisy, and felt quite sketchy as a woman travelling alone. Mattress a bit tired and saggy, but I slept pretty well. Of I stayed again, I’d ask for a higher floor.

Location is right near the high street and local visiting sites. I had a top 3rd floor room --- really spacious . Huge bed and super comfortable matress. Lovely amenities, fridge, microwave, kettle, tea and coffee ... even wine glasses. Nice space to set up my mobile office. Incredibly quiet as the centre of town is empty at night.

The room was west facing and a bit warm. No air conditioning But then UK only gets this heat wave once a year! As the town is quiet at night it was okay to leave the window open to let in fresh air. Was bearable though!

Perfect central location, easy to walk from train station and easy to find. Room exceeded my expectation in respect to level of comfort and resources available within the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying here on future visits whilst the price remains reasonable.

Staff welcome was very poor! Lady on reception is clearly not happy in her role and this was evident. She barely made eye contact and left me standing at the desk for ages before she even acknowledged my existence. Should not be working front of house if she cannot make guests feel welcome!

Spacious room, good central location, wasn't noisy. Having a fridge and microwave in the room was really good. As well as a full set of cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses, a can opener! (There's an ASDA 10 minutes walk away) Loads of plugs sockets. Hairdryer in the room. Big TV, with a decent selection of channels available. Shower room was good size, with a shower cubicle that didn't leak into the rest of the shower room (a first in all the hotels I've stayed in)

The mattress possibly could do with being replaced.

Facilities in the room... microwave, fridge, crockery and cutlery. We didn't use this, but what a fab idea and something we'd probably use next time for sure Room was really big for a double room, plenty of space and rhe hairdryer next to the mirror! Location was amazing for us. Across the street to the town, a 10 minute walk to the quays. Everything on the doorstep. Parking across the road, arrived 11am Saturday, left 11am Sunday and only cost £6!

Noisy neighbours! Not the hotels fault, just inconsiderate guests waking us at 2am on their arrival back after a night on the sauce!
