The new inn definitely has a very Quirky aspect, nothing like anything me and my partner have ever experienced before but in the best way possible. Due it being a very historic building it made our 3 night stay one of the best we have ever had. The management / staff definitely make it feel like home and make you feel very very welcome. Once you have checked in and they give you the key you are then left to your own devices. There is no restriction on what time you come in and out due to there being an out of hours door that you get a key for. Its location is ideal as everything is in walking distance due to it being on the main high street, with that being said it means that on a Saturday night it can be loud however this didn’t bother us at all.

There was nothing we disliked as a couple couldn’t fault it at all what I will say is if your planning on staying and struggle with mobility then this place isn’t for you due to the stairs to get to the rooms.

Love how clean everything is the staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us...friendly and funny they made our stay delightful as always 😊 love the way they have restored the building keeping all of its amazing features...even though you can hear street noise day and night through the single panes of glass..it didn't disturb our sleep at all...which I was fully expecting it too so that was amazing it didnt we had 2 really amazing comfortable sleeps...bed was super comfortable couldn't have been happier!! Plenty of evening entertainment...perfect location for everything, only short walks to everything we wanted ie cathedral...museum and shopping!! 3rd time I've stayed here an every time I visit Gloucester I wouldn't stay anywhere else now.

There were a few little cosmetic issues on the bath panel and a lil piece of glass was missing on one of the windows which was taped over but thats me being picky...the TV didn't work for our first night but as soon as I rang down to reception the issue was rectified immediately seems the guy is on top of everything he even offered for us to switch rooms etc but we didn't want to trouble him as it was late and wasn't that big of a deal for us but we really appreciated that nothing was too much trouble for them!!

The location was perfect!! The staff were wonderful - always helpful, friendly, and professional. I had a great time getting to know some of them while I was there. Blair and Bronco were exceptional in all ways. I loved that they had music several times during my stay. Just the fact that the Inn is a historic landmark building was very special. The little oddities such as slanted floors and sticky doors added to its charm. I would definitely recommend The New Inn to my friends.

The bed was uncomfortable. The made accommodations that helped, but better mattresses would be a recommendation that I would make. Also, the water in the shower changed temperature during my showers, sometimes getting very, very hot.

I loved this place. Beautiful old building with masses of character everywhere you turn - fascinating galleried first floor, wonky floors, quirky shapes. £54 was fantastic value for my single room with cooked breakfast. Right in the centre of Gloucester near cathedral and shops.

If what you want is the fluffiest, whitest towels, most modern shower, big choice of breakfast and to know exactly what you'll get, this may not be the place for you. But I couldn't fault it - amazing value and character. Food only served in the evening on certain days but there are plenty of restaurants nearby.

The building was lovely. It had an old and unique design with plenty of character. While it may not be to everyone's taste, we certainly enjoyed it. We were pleased to find that there was a bar and courtyard located on the ground floor, right below our room. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. We also enjoyed the buffet-style cooked breakfast provided, which allowed us to help ourselves to whatever we fancied. All in all, it was a great value for the money spent.

In our room, the old wallpaper was stained and peeling off in places. We felt that it could use an update.

Room was ideal for the three of us. Ideally situated for the event we were attending and a brilliant building. The bar maid was very polite and apologised for the lack of bar service due to being short staffed.

Unfortunately the bar was understaffed but this did get better at points as it is obviously well used by locals, but making it quite difficult to get a drink unfortunately if your staying there. The security was the worst bit as my family was asked for ID by the same security guard every time we entered the building. Luckily the bar maid came to my sons rescue and informed him we were staying. This didn't stop it happening again, or to my partner whos 32 🤭 The only other complaint was on sitting in the courtyard in the morning to meet the other members of our party, we were asked to move for some renovation work so machinery could be used in the courtyard so no outdoor seating was accessible. Not sure how long this is lasting as wasn't mentioned.

I loved that I didn't take any notice of the reviews of this hotel. Our stay was so comfortable. Blair, the manager, runs the hotel very well, ensuring that all customers and staff were all alright, which made a lovely feeling environment. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Bronco. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a king sized bed and very quiet. It was also cleaned to a good standard with fresh towels every day displayed in a beautiful fan shape on our bed. The food was delicious and was good quality produce. We had a buffet breakfast every morning and could have as much as we could eat,it was absolutely 💯% spot on. We will definitely be going back to stay at the New Inn again.

Being such an old building there isn't a lift and there was a lot of stairs up to our room. But I'm not complaining because it's all the character of the hotel which I loved. There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

I booked two rooms, one suite and one single room - the suite was lovely, plenty of room and just as we hoped, felt surrounded by history. The staff we met, running the bookings and cleaning team were really friendly. Due to being in town for a party we didn't use the bar but the outdoor courtyard looks a great space (we were there on coldest day of 2023). A friendly bit of advice that the stairs up to rooms are steep and shallow and outside so not suitable for everyone, you need to be mindful and realistic regarding the age of this lovely pub.

My friend in the single room said it was cold and wished she had taken the freestanding heater from our room which we didn't need. Breakfast was a bit limited as we were down quite late and the tea selection box was empty.

Of course, I loved the history of the building. I would have been disappointed if it wasn't as original as possible. I liked the creaking floorboards and wonky walls. My room was well equipped. WiFi, tea making facilities, TV, and a lovely bathroom with a great shower. Being on my own this trip, I treated myself . It was a family weekend, and the location was ideal to meet . Walking distance to the railway and the Quays. And the inn is at the heart of the city. A well-used restaurant, and entertainment.

Didn't like, would be a bit strong . OK so at night on the high street, I wasn't comfortable walking back at night. Nothing to do with the hotel.
