Received phone call as soon as I booked. Complementary bottle of wine (voucher in room). Staff could not have been nicer and restaurant food excellent. Rooms very comfortable and WiFi excellent.

Room 7 - hot water heating kicked in at around 6am, sounded like a steam train coming through the wall. But the comfortable bed and clean linen make up for it.

This was a contact free hotel… so no actual contact with the team except by email etc., the room and bathroom were lovely. The restaurant and bar on site were first class, and of course had staff. There was ample parking.

The traffic noise was very noticeable from about 4:30 am each day and at night until about 10:00pm so if you book a room ask for the rooms at the back of the property. Because the weather was so hot and there was no fan, or aircon we had to open windows…but even when closed you could hear the cars and trucks.

I didn't rate the staff as it's a contactless hotel so saw nobody. However, full instructions given via email and text message regarding the key code entry to building and room. Very satisfied with this approach. I didn't dine in the restaurant on site so can't comment on it except to say the menu looked delicious! Hope it takes off and does very well. This newly refurbished boutique hotel is tastefully furnished with appealing decor and the bed was very comfortable. Easy parking too which for Cheltenham is a huge plus. I'd rebook again. Perfect for business and leisure stays. Mine was for leisure.

There is no outside lighting facing the car park at the back of the property (under the tall trees) which in winter and in the rain (with puddles to negotiate) made it difficult to see where I was walking. I had to rely on my mobile phone torch. A sensor light should be installed soonest for safety.

Lovely quirky looking property, with lots of books and crannies. Clean and tidy. Stayed in room 5 which was over the main entrance. Close to the main road. Double aspect windows. One over the front door, the other over the to the side. Very spacious en-suite room. Shower over the bath. King size bed. Desk and chair (like a dining room style). Large chest of drawers and single wardrobe. One leather armchair. Bedside table and lamp on either side of the bed. TV. Kettle, tea/coffee/milk/sugar. No hairdryer.

Very small TV in comparison to the room size. No decaf coffee sachets provided, but to be fair, I’d brought my own so didn’t ask for any.

The rooms are large and very clean. The on-site restaurant is theoretically separate from the accommodation but the helpful staff there seemed very knowledgeable about how the hotel operates, which was just as well as there was no staffed reception (it being a contactless hotel).

I would have preferred to have met with a person on arrival as opposed to being emailed codes to the key box. The catering arrangements were not clearly explained in the information sent at the time of booking. Booking.com does not offer the option of booking a room with breakfast. Communication received from the hotel indicated that breakfast could be served if booked in advance, but when we enquired about this with the restaurant on the evening we arrived we were told that we should have booked the breakfast directly with them prior to our arrival.

The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was well-appointed and had everything you’d expect. The price was good considering the 2000 Trees festival happening nearby. I was able to park my car there in the morning and then check myself into my room when I got in later that night (it is a contactless hotel with codes supplied for entry).

It is very close to the road so you get a bit of noise if you have the windows open, but not much anyone can do about that. The lack of a reception service was fine for me, and the contactless check-in actually suited me really well as I was arriving late. However, I didn’t know this when I booked and I can imagine that it might be quite disconcerting for other travellers.

Booked this hotel for one night as visiting family in Cheltenham. The hotel itself is on the border of the city with the centre only approx. 10minute drive, Hotel was lovely and clean, you really could not fault the cleanliness. Considering the hotel itself is situated on a main road it was extremely quiet, you cannot hear any cars etc. passing. Free/safe parking was right outside the front doors with ample of room for everyone. Contactless check in was as easy as it sounds, you're given details on the codes the day before and you can come and go as you please with your room key in a key safe just outside your door. Cannot fault the hotel entirely and for the price we paid. We will definitely come back when visiting family again.

The space, plenty of refreshments, ease with which I could check in and out. Parking was great.

It was obvious that the room hadn’t been checked before I arrived as it looked like no one had stated I. That room for a while. There was a lot of dust on the headboards of the beds, seating and all surfaces. Mugs were not clean. I had to clean areas and utensils I needed to use. It’s the only thing that let the room down. It was also tricky closing windows with my current mobility issues but as long as the room was clean I would stay here again.

The room was large and very well-appointed although a fridge would have been handy. The bed and furnishings were all first-rate and it made you feel like you had been upgraded! The views out of the windows in the morning were really pleasant.

I found the contactless aspect a little cold. It was convenient and it worked as far as getting into your room was concerned but I do like to receive some 'service', even if only a greeting on arrival. It's nice to know that you can get some help if you need it and I didn't see one staff member at any time during my stay. I chose the location but if you are looking for easy access to the centre of Cheltenham then you may want to book closer to town.

Very easy to find and good parking, Simple self check-in and lovely room/bathroom. Dinner was superb - best steak we've had in a long time! and a complimentary bottle of wine. The restaurant - Oncore - is also open to non-residents - highly recommended. Great to have breakfast at 9am and an 11am checkout. A charming young man - Moon - was on duty throughout our stay and he looked after us very well. He was attentive and courteous when waiting on us at dinner and breakfast and booked a taxi for us to get to the townhall on the Saturday morning. We will certainly be staying again when visiting Cheltenham or nearby and will recommend the hotel and restaurant to anyone we know to be wanting to stay/eat in Cheltenham.
