Impressive building. Friendly reception. Dog friendly. Reception, bar, restaurant v attractive. Room large, v comfy bed, strange bathroom layout, though. Free water in room. Good food variety at breakfast. Loved the pancake machine. Parking in nearby NCP. £13 overnight as opposed to £25

Awful basement-sited room. Smelly as exited lift. Could no way keep curtains drawn as pavement window level. People could look down at you. We had to eat breakfast in the bar cause we had our dog, fair enough but no trays in restaurant so we each made about 5 journeys to and fro to get food and drinks.

We checked in early, and were offered a room in the basement. Initially concerned it would be small and dark, however the room was huge, we had windows up to street level. It was also nice and quiet, as we only had reception above us, and the floor was super thick, so no noisy neighbours upstairs. We had good working A/C in the room, everything we needed - fridge, hairdryer, toiletries etc and the bed was huge. Location is perfect for town, so close to everything. Will 100% stay here again.

The hairdryers could maybe do with being upgraded! They were a bit manky haha and the first one we had didn't work.

We chose Aloft because they welcome pets and even supply extra bedding and bowls if required. Our room was larger than expected and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was great; good water pressure and plenty of hot water. We appreciated having a small refrigerator and a safe in the room, too. HUGE television. There was also the use of the excellent, well equipped gym and a guest laundry; which was great for us as we stayed for 17 nights. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, both to us and our two dogs. They made us feel as if they couldn't do enough for us, and of course they fussed over the dogs every time they saw them. Plenty of things to do in the immediate area and endless shopping, restaurants and nightlife all within a walkable distance.

It may have been because we stayed in a basement room with our dogs, but we found that the Wifi cut out frequently; which meant we had to log back in pretty much every time we used our devices. There is definite room for improvement there. The location is in a lively area, so we did have to endure a bit of noise from the street, but it was really only at the weekend that we noticed.

The room was a lovely size. We had a twin room and the beds themselves felt bigger than a normal single bed. Bathroom was lovely, shower amazing. We were in a basement room so the windows didn't open but the air conditioning was great at cooling the room. We arrived around 8.30 am and were soaked from the rain so they accommodated us by allowing us to check in early.

The television didn't work, we asked for a replacement remote thinking that was the problem but when the new one arrived we realised it still wouldn't work. We stayed for 3 nights but only got fresh towels once.

The property is very centrally located, lovely building and nice enough rooms. Great shower and air con which was needed. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Will definitely stay here again if I come back to Liverpool

As it was myself with my 18 yr old daughter we decided to eat in the restaurant both nights. First night was lovely but the second night we had to sit listening to extremely loud music in the restaurant area. No one came to see what we wanted to eat so daughter had to go to the bar and order and when it came it was only just warm enough. No one came to see if it was ok. The breakfast of the same day wasn’t really hot enough either. The young girl that served our cocktails never even suggested a smile, it would be nice to have service with a smile but it was a blank vacant stare. The breakfast today was fine tho.

Great building, glad many original features kept - loved the insurance window. Comfortable clean room. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Good location, easy walking distance to everything we wanted to go to and the station as we came by train.

Breakfast was ok, although ran out of pastries often before we got to them. Would have liked tomatoes with the cooked breakfast and nuts on the cereal table. Bar was not well stocked, did not have Aperol or the beer we wanted - it was on the taps. Part of the door frame was off when we returned to the room - the cleaner had propped it up - reported but not fixed.

I have never been happier with a hotel stay. Firstly, we picked this hotel primarily because of the building… it looks beautiful and it did not disappoint. However, it was trumped by the team. Everyone was so incredibly friendly, happy and helpful, from the first minute to the end of our trip. There was such a great choice of food for breakfast, with items cooked to order and fantastic cocktails in the evening. The building takes your breath away. Make sure you take the stairs at least once!!!! Brilliant location, just down the street from the action and shopping but all the windows are sound-proofed so we slept so well. Really comfy beds, modern bathrooms and fittings. Will definitely return to Liverpool and stay here again! Couldn’t fault it!

Nothing.

Clean room but freezing cold - air con didn't work, just stayed at 17 degrees decreasing by the hour despite putting on heat and up to 22 degrees. We came with our 10 month old puppy, which wasn't a problem except we were put in a room furthest away from civilisation and weren't allowed in the restaurant so had to eat in the cold bar area. We run a cafe bar - there is no regulation banning dogs from eating areas yet despite there being hardly any guests we still had to sit in the cold bar area and take turns to get breakfast! Bar area not very cosy - photo's are deceptive. Ok for a business trip but not as a holiday or leisure trip.

This hotel is in a beautiful buiding; formerly the Royal Insurance Building. As a result, the ground floor reception, bar, restaurant is housed in a huge space with high ceilings and huge windows. The rooms are decent sized, with a comfortable bed and walk in shower. Ours had a decent view over Liverpool City Centre. The location was superb; Cavern Quarter, Liverpool One, Pier Head and Albert Dock are all a short walk away. For those arriving by train, Lime Street is walking distance. Decent cocktails and drinks promotion in the bar and a good breakfast

Saturday morning breakfast was pretty busy and the staff at time struggled to replenish. But a minor point

gorgeous building that has been modernised inside but without loosing all its charm. Staff lovely, even let us check in slightly earlier which was much appreciated. Room is a lot bigger than expecting, wifi worked well and there is a desk in the room that I was grateful for as working. TV has weird channels but that didn't bother me, aircon worked well. Breakfast was plentiful, I get up early so can't comment on whether its replenished. Location is a couple of mins walk from the Cavern, lots of good restaurants close by. Its a 10 min walk from the bus station, where the airport bus drops you. Would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to friends staying in August.
