Charlie Hotel

I liked the location and was very handy for the northern line. The room was spacious with a nice double bed and a private bathroom. Toilet seat was wonkey and there wasn’t a proper toilet roll holder.

On the first night of arrival, my tv remote was not working, I brought this to the attention of the management who told me it either be fixed for my by the next day or I could have the option to move to another double room. Upon arrival on the second night, this was not fixed. However, I accepted that it wouldn’t be fixed for me. The breakfast on a morning was ok, but not outstanding. They say English breakfast but didn’t get everything that was supposed to be with it.

After reading the reviews about this hotel online I was quite scared going into it. However, I was more than plesantly suprised. I want to comment on some of the things I saw other reviews mentioning: the staff were nice, the carpets were good, the beds were clean, I didn't try the showers as we were there for less than 24 hours and didn't really get a chance to, the breakfast was nice (there was lots avalible) and it didn't seem damp to me. The venue was also perfect for a concert we were going to at the dome, it was a 10 min walk if that from the tube and then the dome was opposite the tube station. I used google maps to get to the hotel the first time and then didnt need to use it again it was so easy to get to and from.

The rooms were very small (like uni room size small) but for a single night stay with my sister this wasn't an issue.

the location is great, about 10 mins from the tube and from the venue ‚the dome’. i felt very safe in the area, despite being a girl walking home alone at night. the staff was lovely and very friendly. i was a bit early, but they arranged for me to check in anyways. it’s a great option if you just need a place to sleep for a night or two. i didn’t have breakfast, so i can’t say anything about that. the room was small, but clean and the bed comfortable.

the room i stayed in was pretty outdated, the furniture, as well as the bathroom. the toilet didn’t flush very well. apart from that it was a nice stay and i would choose the place again!

Loved staying here, you get to chose for breakfast if you want an English Breakfast, an omelet or cereal. Bathroom was small but everything you needed was there. Bed was comfortable there were towels and a packet of bodywash as some glasses in the room. The people are very nice, would highly recommend.

Shower door opens into the shower which was kinda annoying if you wanted to get in or out the shower and you have to really search for the right temperature and pressure but otherwise everything was nice. Walls are a bit thin but we didn't mind it too much.

The manager and Staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. It was really good value. Hotel is in easy walking distance to great pubs, brilliant restaurants and public transport. Perfect for us. Manager and team 10 stars. ⭐️

The property was old.. ( rooms are adequate. ) Kitchen is in real need of an upgrade.. Family who run it are doing a fantastic job. Fixing all issues when they arise. Owner needs to spend some decent coin on this hotel, to bring it up to speed. It would be worth it. Thank you. Two stars.

I was staying in a single room, and it was really tiny, but if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room, it is okay. The shower and toilette were clean, although minimal in size. If you need an inexpensive room for a night or two, this is a good choice. 10 minutes walk from a tube station Tufnell Park (Northern line), a convenience shop is right opposite the entrance to the station - don’t forget to buy drinks for the evening. The lady at the reception was very friendly. The breakfast (included in the price) is great!

Maybe a kettle in the room would be a good addition…

Loved the care-taker and his son, absolutely brilliant, warm welcome, Yannis, his son even walked me to the shop so I could get soke refreshments. The off road, locked carpark was a great touch, comfy bed, clean room, micro bathroom had what you needed! Our key to the main door didnt work on our return at 11pm, but luckily the staff reside on site, so we were able to get access. We got up just a fraction late for breakfast but the lovely housekeeper still offered us tea, juice, cereal & toast. The staff here are an absolute assett and made the stay super relaxed and comfortable!

The only thing I can fairly say negatively, is that the rooms didn't have fire doors and there was no fire assembly point or clear fire procedure, think that requires attention but this is in no way any reflection on the house keeping staff!

Rooms was extremely clean and location great. What made our stay perfect was the staff members, a lovely lady and man who were polite, helpful and very hardworking. Breakfast was amazing in the morning also!

We liked everything. We are planning to come back to Camden on February the 17th for a concert. We payed £90 for this trip but on booking.com for the dates in February it quotes £168 for the 1 night which is too much. If the price can be brought down then we will continue to go to Charlies hotel on a regular basis.

Spotlessly clean. Run by husband and wife team. My room had a fabulously comfy new mattress on the bed. The linen was very good and lots of hot water in the ensuite shower. Lovely white towels and appreciated toiletries. Carpet was fairly new and there was a nice window which opened outside. The couple who ran it were attentive and polite. I enjoyed the included breakfast. The coffee especially was great and my eggs done to perfection. I shall stay here again.

For me..there was nothing I did not like

A great location and walking distance to Kentish Town. We stayed after a gig at the O2 Forum. The area felt safe for 3 women to walk in the dark late at night. The on site free parking is a HUGE bonus! Outside of the congestion zone too. We were able to leave the car the following day whilst we got the tube into Central (tube station also in walking distance)

The beds felt like small doubles. The B&B is very dated & could do with sprucing up to look more modern. You could hear other guests in their room / hallway , however this would not put me off booking again. Pros definitely out weigh the cons here!
