we were met at the door by the receptionist, she noticed that my wife is disabled and was having trouble with the few steps up to the front door. She immediately changed our allocated room to a ground floor room. This had recently been refurbished, it was spacious with a small but well equipped en-suite. The bed was firm but very comfortable and extra pillows were in the wardrobe. Breakfast was served in a clean, small dining area adjacent to the kitchen, the full English breakfast was good, my wife opted for the fresh fruit and yogurt, plenty of tea and fresh coffee to wash it down. If we needed to travel to the area again, we would definitely use the Mansfield Lodge Hotel again.

Good location - near to the centre of Mansfield - and well situated with a nice garden. Staff and owner are very welcoming and helpful. The bedroon was very comfortable and clean with ensuite and good powerful shower. Kettle with coffee tea biscuits etc refilled daily. Nice breakfast room and good choice and quality of breakfast. Very good value for money

Bathroom is very small (room 7) and would work much better if there was a sliding pocket door - rather than inward opening door. Otherwise everything was very comfortable.

Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice. Help yourself to cereals, fruit, yoghurt, coffee. Full English breakfast cooked on demand as well as eggs, omelette, toasted sandwich, tea and toast. No evening meal available at weekends.

En suite shower room very cramped with fan running intermittently. Our room needs a smaller kettle as it was too tall to fit easily under fixed mixer tank making filling it very awkward.

Everything. Friendly helpful owner , convenient location just set back off main road with parking in nice area .Easy to find . Very comfortable room , bedding and bed . Spotlessly clean . Tea and coffee facilities in room and very generous with supplies or milk, tea , coffee and biscuits . Tv . Had everything you need . Well appointed room . Lovely house . Price included breakfast. Nice modern Breakfast room with Tv . Good choice on menu and very nice produce and well cooked . Lovely individual portions of fresh fruit . Superb value for money. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Mansfield Lodge Hotel is a large Victorian villa that’s been extensively refurbished. Entering into a lofty, restored hall with period tiles I did subsequently think that my room (No 1) deserved more colourful soft furnishings and an iron bedstead rather than its modern divan with neutral duvet cover - but everything was freshly decorated and spotless. The room itself was large and easily accommodated a king size bed, desk, fitted and built in wardrobes, a sizeable occasional table and two large armchairs. Given all this space perhaps the en-suite (shower only) could have been built larger but it was spotless and with good fittings and towels. Such a large room, good wi-fi and plenty of USB charging points made for a comfortable stay. In the restaurant, furnished in modern style, I enjoyed an excellent breakfast with fresh fruit, quality branded yogurts and fruit juices and good coffee. On some days of the week the hotel offers evening meals. Now of an age when I can’t manage a large late meal the very helpful staff made, to my specifications, a salad which I enjoyed. The restaurant has a licence to serve alcohol. Although the centre of Mansfield has suffered from the recession and the decline in retailing, the town's location makes it a good base for travelling both east, to Southwell, Newark and Lincoln, and west to the Peak District, including visits to Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall. Mansfield Lodge is ideally suited to take advantage of such travel choices. Car parking on site is ample but safe, on-street parking is also available in this leafy part of town.

Although Mansfield Lodge is set back from the main road, traffic noise was noticeable in my room during the day, especially with the window open. Other rooms that do not face the main road may not be so affected. It's quiet enough at night.

Mansfield town Centre, what a dilapidated, disgusting and neglected place. The local council and police should hang their heads in shame - lots of drunks and druggies. Made it loud and uncomfortable even during the day. Not a police officer in sight. Hotel though and the staff was located conveniently close to town center. It was clean and welcoming . Newly refurbished the investment in the hotel is obvious😁😁

The room was really pleasant, if a little small. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever found in a guest house or hotel. I was only staying for one night but would have happily stayed longer.

The room was a little small and the website did say there would be a view of the garden but all I could see was a car park. That didn't really bother me though, to be honest.

Great location for walking into the town. Allowed us to park and checkin early which was really helpful. Room was spotlessly clean and good size. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast. Would stay again.

Partner had a shower no problem. I lost water pressure just as I'd lathered shampoo in my hair, went from a good spray to a trickle.

We absolutely loved this little gem of a hotel. Undoubtedly the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in, rooms were clean and had all the basics needed for a short stay. The location is quiet, yet only a 5 minute stroll into town. Fabulous cooked breakfast with quality produce used. Wouldn't stay anywhere else when we next visit Mansfield

Very minor point, but would have liked the option of tinned tomatoes at breakfast.

The mattress was extremely comfortable, the best I've ever slept on in any hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean I was totally impressed. The breakfast is lovely too.

I'd advise if you have mobility issue and also issues lifting heavy cases, I ask for a ground floor bedroom, the building is Victorian there is no lift. My mattress was on a slight incline, it looks as though people sleep on the right hand side, so it had flattened, I asked if it could be turned, which the owner did, from then on it was beautiful. There is no kitchen on a Sunday, after breakfast so you'll need to go out for meals or order a take away. I still would definitely say again.
