Stayed here for two nights whilst attending a family wedding in Worksop. Location is easy to find, and only a few mins into the town by car. The hotel is a satndalone building behind the pub and is very similar in style/facilities to a Travelodge. No shower gel in the room but pub staff found us some; otherwise no issues with the room during our stay. Would stay again if needing reasonably priced functional accommodation in the area.

No iron in the room - available from reception but have to go out the building over to the pub and had to go back to remind them when it hadn't appeared almost an hour later.

The hotel is the best of both worlds. Has shops and eateries near by as well as a lovely canal walk. The rooms were spacious and clean and bathroom great having a bath. We ate at the pub which was nice, went for a walk, had a drink in the garden area.

Sadly the clientele that evening had a lot to be desired. Young men asking for a fight in the garden so had to take the children in but then couldn't use the pool table as the same group of men were there. This put a dampener on it for us. I did complain to Marston's and hey handled it well. Maybe it was just that evening although the staff just continued to serve them and non of them really seemed to mind.

All most everything was excellent - location, surroundings, car parking, hotel, bedroom, restaurant and the restaurant disabled toilet was excellent as the spacing and layout had been thoughtfully arranged. (Unlike a lot of places I have visited!)

As we had been travelling on the previous day and we slept in we had a late breakfast around 10am. There appeared to be only one member of 'front of house' staff - a helpful pleasant young man who was totally overwhelmed with the workload. The phone was constantly ringing and as soon as he had finished with one call it started ringing again. It looked like the computer system was giving problems as he was taking screenshots on his mobile. Tables were not being cleared and clean crockery and some foods had not been replenished. He was, understandably, overwhelmed and not only was it too much for one person but it appeared that there was no procedure for him to get help. We felt sorry for him and i felt that this needs to be looked at as an improvement rather any 'dislike'.

Excellent evening meal, generous portions, pleasant surroundings, without loud music. the Lodge was quiet. conveniently situated for the town and motorways. Ample parking and close to the Lodge. Liked the card entry system....no big key to carry. Plenty of hot water, ; 'smiley' staff.

The bedside shelf was very limiting.....glasses,water,clock,earpieces,kindle/book.Ipad,watch........etc. It is very difficult for older folks to work out of a suitcase on the floor.....a case holder screwed to the wall would be a great boon. Prefer the hand held hose in a shower.

Spacious bedroom, was neat and clean, tea and coffee facilities were good. I was attending a wedding at Hodsock Priory and this hotel was about a 10min drive from the venue which was ideal. Staff were very friendly and helpful during the check in process and were great with suggesting some taxi companies to use.

There weren’t any spoons or wooden sticks to stir with for my tea in the morning (not a big deal though but maybe a more thorough check needs to be done when replenishing items in the rooms).

The beds. The ease of check in. Disability room 104 had lots of space in the bathroom. The menu was good. Enjoyed the carvery.

There needs to be two chairs in the room. There's more than enough space. The toilet rolls are awful, cheapest of the cheap. Bathroom could do with a shelf to put bottles, sprays etc on. Why have Freeview with lots of channels in the menu but only a few available? The fixed tap not easy to avoid when cleaning teeth. The carvery was better than its presentation.

Cleanliness of the rooms, was excellent and the rooms along with the bed was very comfortable. Tasty food in the bar. Great selection of drinks.

Stayed here a couple of times now and Breakfast service always seems to be understaffed. Each time we've come into the bar for the breakfast we've only found one person running around trying to tend to everyone's needs. We've found that things are missing from the "help yourself" part of the breakfast layout, plates, glasses, butter and due to only one person taking orders, filling the help yourself part, delivering plates to the tables and cleaning up its taken a long time to rectify. On our previous visit there was a very busy breakfast and still only one person running round.

We didn't find the beds comfortable but then we are used to a memory foam mattress also found the pillows too soft maybe you could provide 2, different pillows if we are nitpicking ,check in took too long only seemed to be one lady checking in at the time we arrived who was on a break we believe so took far longer than we thought necessary especially with a 6 month baby but overall for the price and location we needed for family wedding we were very happy with our stay and would recommend and definitely stay again we booked through booking.com but saw a notice saying if you book directly 20%off in the restaurant .plenty of parking and quiet location we were sent abit too far with Google maps but would know for next time it's before the Asda roundabout not after

Have stayed her at least 4 times in the last year rooms always clean and comfortable and very well priced. Food at the pub is a bit hit and miss use to always have breakfast but they have changed the format use to bring toast tea etc to your table good gluten free breakfast too. Last time they have an urn and toaster no glasses or cups for tea had to ask for both plus no milk think their trying to save money. Always ask what time they stop serving food as it seems to differ every day. Not a bad place to stay conveniently placed to Worksop Rotherham etc

4yo and I found the Lock Keeper when we were looking for a cheap half term alternative trip to Centre Parcs (about 80% cheaper before food and activities). Chosen on the basis of having both an outdoor and indoor playground, though alas the outdoor was broken on arrival. Told the child it was called Funland, she was most impressed. Food very good. They put us in disabled suite which was actually v useful for the 4yo. Cleaning staff especially helpful.
