Great value, nice clean room, friendly staff. Just a very relaxed, comfortable easy going place, own entrance so didn’t have to go through the bar if you didn’t want to. Was just what we needed for a wedding close by.

Wasn’t really a big deal for us but some things to bare in mind before booking, no food served but the gossip cafe just down the road did the best breakfast and the admiral Rodney was very reasonable priced for dinner. Due to location it was noisy at night due to bars kicking out and the road, The pub didn’t open till 3pm otherwise we would have brought drinks before heading off but it looked like a work in progress possibly had a recent change in ownership so all this may all change in the future. Had the weather not been against us the bouncy castle and slush machine would have been a definite hit with the kids. No parking on site but free parking on the road or public carpark was very close and not expensive

The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was great to have a mini fridge in the room & the bottled water was a nice touch. Also the plug sockets nearest the bed had built-in Usb slots so we didn't have to unplug the lamp to charge our phones, a real bonus! The location is excellent, very close to the town and right next door to the Minster. Once you have booked in there is a side door you can use so you don't need to keep going through the pub to access your room which was ideal.

Being an old building with Sash windows it was a little noisy at night but we still managed a good night's sleep! Although there is a car park it is fairly small and we weren't able to use it as the few cars already in there had parked awkwardly taking up most of the room! To be fair we didn't ask about it when we checked in as we parked in the public car park just opposite which luckily was free being a Saturday night into Sunday.

The room was beautifully clean and had an extremely good range of facilities. There was a dressing table, writing table, two chairs, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge containing water for the kettle. The room also had year round temperature control with a heater and fan available. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom/toilet pristine. The hotel was very close to the town centre and my bus stop for the following morning's journey. The lady who showed me to my room was very friendly, kind and helpful.

The room could have been heated before my arrival as it was a chilly evening and I'd checked to see if a revised check in time was convenient. I would have liked a bin in the room. Although it's not the fault of the hotel itself, I think it only fair to advise that there was quite a lot of street noise on the Friday night I stayed.

brilliant location, small car park. the staff were very friendly as were the pub customers. Beds were very comfy for table, the quilts sumptuous and thick. 3 in a room so nice to have full size kettle. Surprised to find fridge in room but great to have little bottles of fresh milk left there instead of the prepackaged uht. Karaoke night when we were there, regulars made us very welcome and included. no food at the pub but loads choice very nearby. there were a few cobwebs and a bit of dust but nothing to spoil the break, very good value for money definitely going again.

Staff were very friendly, it was a nice 'local'

There was a light in the en-suite that couldn't be turned off (glowed under the door) and the quality of fittings in the en-suite were poor (tap turned the wrong way and spun on its axle so required you to hold it in place as you turned it on/off. There was a fridge that also glowed and slightly hummed. I like dark and silence, so ignored the please do not switch me off sign - problem solved. No Breakfast :(

Great location right in the centre of Southwell and although no parking on site the public car park is very reasonable and only 1 minute walk away. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Despite Booking.com messing up the booking, the reception staff were excellent in resolving the issue.

Nothing!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms look recently refurbished, they are lovely with comfy beds, extra pillows and fluffy white towels. Cleanliness standards were very high. The fridge in the room was much appreciated and fresh milk was provided for tea and coffee. Plenty of power points in the rooms. We were contacted regarding what we required on the hospitality tray prior to arrival (tea/decaff/sugar/sweetners etc). Great central location for access to the shops and right next door to the minster. Tower fans were much appreciated. The rooms also have portable heaters. Full English breakfast was included with futher options such as poached egg on toast/beans on toast/cereal/orange juce/tea/coffee.

Our minor complaint was being unable to open the windows to allow proper ventilation, as with many properties if this type, it has sash windows sealed shut. We travelled shortly after a heatwave and so expected it to be hot but one of the 2 rooms was significantly hotter than the rest of the property and didn't cool down despite the door being propped open. 2 tower fans were provided in the room on arrival (much appreciated) but what we really needed was fresh air as it had cooled down significantly outside. I suspect this is only ever problematic during excessively hot periods of summer. No wi-fi. The only other minor issue was that there was no hot chocolate available.

The hotel was a lovely location, friendly staff on arrival and leaving. Room was very clean and plenty of room for 2 people in the doubles. Everything you need in there too. Breakfast was lovely and came with drinks, large coffees and service with a smile is what you want on a morning, he couldn't do enough for us which was lovely. Overall brilliant place to stay and we would reccomend for the price its 100%.

We needed to check in early due to a needing to get ready and attend a wedding before our stay commutation wasn't the best but we did manage to get checked in an hour early for £10. Unfortunately the milk in the actual hotel room left to make coffees was off although this wasn't a big issue and we got a large coffee with our breakfast.

Staff was lovely and couldn't do enough for us! Great location and room was perfect had all what we needed and even had bottles of water in the fridge which was a nice touch!

Only downfall was the noise - we were above the smoking area so could hear everyone outside! Couldnt hear noise from the pub so not their fault and to be honest we expected some noise anyway seems we did book a room at a pub!

Was very welcoming with quick check in. Brilliant hospitality bent over backwards to make our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast was amazing with good produce and quick friendly service. Thank you was a lovely stay and will be back, was only there for wedding reception but think may become a nice short stay as not seen a town so full of nice pubs....need to try

Didn't matter to us but lots of stairs so if needed would suggest a lower room. Low door frame going in to room but not a problem if made aware (tall people only!)
