This is a stunning building and the room I was given was very quiet and with a lovely view of the countryside. It was a very good size and the bed was huge and extremely comfortable!! The staff were exceptional and couldn’t seem to do enough to make my stay a good one. They were able to recommend restaurants in the area and ordered a taxi to get me there. On checkout, they were kind enough to help me with my bags from the room and down to reception.

Nice hotel outside Chesterfield and close to M1 motorway. Rooms are located in the main building and also in separate buildings containing three or four rooms. Ours was in one of these villas and was spacious and comfortable. There is a beautiful spa with all the usual facilities. We had a massage treatment which was excellent. The restaurant was good and our meal delicious. Ample parking.

The breakfast was a self service buffet and the first we’ve encountered on a long trip around the country that is allowing guests to serve themselves using the same spoon or tongs. So everyone is touching the same utensils. Also, the waiter was holding our cup with his bare hands to pour the coffee. Didn’t feel comfortable with this in the present situation.

The grounds were stunning and the staff were friendly and polite, food in the couch house was to die for!

The suites weren’t as clean as I thought they should be, few cobwebs and spiders on closure inspection. Bedroom had five alive wasps in the window and we later found there were around 20 dead wasps and still some alive ones in the wardrobe. Saying that the staff were happy to swap us rooms and gave us a complimentary evening meals and drinks.

Beautiful setting with lots of large well maintained private garden areas Breakfast had large selection of tasty food Whitchurch was excellent. We took our dog and the room provided on the side of the hotel- garden room was ideal. Staff all most helpful and soft welcoming attitude

Had to complain as our room was not clean, bedding was fine but neglected rest. Not enough three pin sockets to plug in kettle room fan and phone chargers. Bathroom extractor fan was extremely noisy. Just need to be replaced the fan unit to a quiet one and I would have no complaints.

We stayed in a garden room which was clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. We ate dinner in the "temporary" restaurant as the coach house was being refurbished. The food was excellent and the only complaint was that the chairs were very uncomfortable. The staff were all really lovely although didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing at times (new and lack of training). The grounds of the hotel are very nice.

Uncomfortable chairs at Dinner. The wine glasses were cheap and nasty. Drinks slight overpriced. Bar Staff lacked knowledge to the point where they didn't know the difference between a Red Wine anda Rose or an Americano and a Flat White coffee. Also, you don't offer a customer a spoon whilst holding the spoon end netween your finger tips!

Clean, fresh, pretty, comfortable beds, windows that opened

The kitchen shut 15 mins early despite me ringing to check just an hour before to see what time they finished serving. Id driven that morning 5 hrs up to attend my uncles funeral. I was mentally and physically shattered. To then not be able to get food, was a real blow. I was told by reception to get Uber Eats! That was a 75 min wait. So I ended up having to go back out to find food…. And therefor skipping the bar. Felt a real shame considering how great everything else was.

The whole ambiance of the place was amazing. The frontage of the hotel is of a traditional Manor. The grounds are amazingly well kept and vast. Great car parking. The Hotel is huge and well laid out. There are a number of suites on the ground floor which can accommodate for meetings, conferences and parties. I'm sure they do weddings here and what a place for a wedding - sublime!! The grounds would make for some stunning photos. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was large, roomy and had the most amazing mattresses and a massive flat screen TV. The bathroom was lovely, traditionally tiled with bath and shower. Lovely white fluffy towels. Tea and coffee facilities in a lovely cabinet which was very welcome. Breakfast was very very good. Lovely people to serve tea and coffee's and able to ask for small items if couldn't immediately be found. Good selection of hot food, bacon, sausages, eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms. Toaster with variety of fresh breads. Cakes and pastries, yogurts, fresh fruits and juices. All jams and sauces were in tiny jars - so much better than those awful sachets (plastic - yuk!!) and sugar lumps in bowls on the tables. Didn't have dinner as were visiting relatives. There is a spa on site as well. Didn't use but have taken information for the future. All in all would highly recommend this hotel. Was cheaper than the premier inn down the road (at the time) and you get so much more for your money. Lovely hotel and will be visiting again.

Nothing. Do change perfection.

We stayed here as my wife had a Christmas party to attend at the hotel and it was very easy for her. Great room. Well appointed heating worked and was warm. My breakfast was good on both days

Bathroom needs TLC The filler around the bath requires attention. My wife is allergic to mushrooms. I did send a message to the hotel and also received confirmation . On the last day she wanted a cooked breakfast She informed the waitress of her allergy. Breakfast arrived Under the bacon was a mushroom!!! Sent it back and she had porridge instead. How can the hotel get this so wrong after writing to them prior to our visit and at the time of ordering informed the waitress . Yes the waitress apologised but what would of happened if my wife had started to eat. It wound be a disaster!!!

Highly recommend the spa, it was amazing, we didn't want or have any treatment but the facilities inside were fantastic Out room was lovely too although was expecting something a bit bigger after seeing the picture of the room choice we booked (deluxe feature double) Resturant food was lovely, small menu so not much to choose from but we ate both nights, room service food was piping hot and just as tasty as the food was when we sat in the resturant

We had a spa bath in our room unfortunately it didn't work Lighting wasn't great in the room either

The staff, the facilities, the accommodation all great

The house keeping wasn’t to the greatest standard. Not the hotels fault to a degree but it looked liked someone had took a dog into one of the coach house rooms. There was hair everywhere. It smelt okay but where did the hair come from. It could have been easily hoovered up. We saw the housekeeping this morning and she was lovely but we didn’t see a hoover. The extractor fan was fill of dust. Just a little attention to detail from the house keeping and it would have been perfect. One thing they couldn’t do anything about but could have reported on was the drain smell. IM in the property business and I know the toilet pipe needed ceiling to the the tiles. So a smell was eminating from there.
